If they add that as an option sure, but if that's the only output option that is a terrible idea.

As far as I am concerned it sounds like it is already doing the right thing. If you only want stereo just turn off surround processing on your receiver. If it was doing what you suggest and you wanted surround processing, it would be impossible to do that on most receivers.
Well yeah, an option. The Wii U and Switch do it.

I've been playing with Zero Delay mode where it slows down the console .08Hz for compatibility's sake, and that's a winner to me. Can't hear any pitch difference in the audio and everything I've tried so far works great with it.

This thing fixes every issue I had with my SNES Jr going through my OSSC.

I can definitely tell now why people are complaining about the 8BitDo d-pads though :(

Out of curiosity, what issues have you had running your snes jr through ossc? I've been considering getting an ossc for ps1 (when the hd retro adapter comes out) Saturn, and TG16.

I wanted one but $80 for international shipping, wow. I can't get down with that.

I still think their effort would be better served fixing bugs or adding actual new functionality. Outputting stereo you can turn surround on or off, but outputting multichannel with dead air in the other channels just limits how you can process the audio.

Am I the only person not having any issues with the 8bitdo Retro pads? I've been using them for my real SNES while I wait for my Nt to ship and they feel fine. Every time I think I can prove an issue, I swap to a real SNES controller (I have 4 to test with) and it acts the same. D-pad stiffness is different, sure, but I'm not seeing any issues with accidental diagonals.

I also tested out my SNES Classic controllers and the D-pad stiffness is inconsistent (down is much harder than up) but they're still reliable in terms of inputs.

I tried my 8bitdos with emulation as I don't have a real SNES. They are very nice but they are a tad sensitive towards the diagonals. Sometimes when I am scrolling down in Retroarch (by press down everytime to go to the next game rather than holding it down for fast scrolling) it slips into the next menu as it reads my input as a diagonal press. No issues during games though.

I was seriously considering this, but there is just no way I can go back to changing carts by hand in this modern age of digital... so I looked into a SD2SNES... and that's going to cost more than the NT... Wow. I'll wait it out to see if a 'jail broken' firmware comes about.

Yeah, I bought one anticipating it coming out. I hope it's announced before it arrives. I may hold off opening it otherwise, but it will be tough because I have all my games ready to go.

Still no shipping confirmation though... and I'm in the US... and it's shipping ground... and I paid $39.71 for shipping... not thrilled about that.

To each his own but to me they're nothing like putting real carts into a console, opening game boxes or looking stuff up in the manuals while playing!

Talking about sd2snes, because you have to change the audio options on the Nt itself, so the cart produces the sound, will it bypass the improvements made by the Nt for audio?

I got a Super Everdrive because I don't want to get the Super NT and play nothing but Turrucan. Once, and if jailbroken, I'll sell it.

Any requests for testing? For this Sunday's video, I'm going to draw a comparison between real hardware, the Super Nt, Higan and the SNES Mini (using stock emulator). I have a bunch of tests ready but figured I'd see if anyone wanted to see something specific!

Throw in one of the cheap clone consoles to show the people that say they're "good enough" how wrong they are.

Any word on distributors abroad? I'm so close to ordering a Super NT but would love to avoid a $49 shipping charge if I can help it...

I'd be curious to see a comparison with the Retron 5 as well, if you have one in hand of course.

That would be great, I second this.
Why compare at all, obviously Retron 5 would be way inferior in every regard, like going to a 5star restaurant and comparing your meal with McDonalds. I don't see the point. Comparing the Super NT with Higan for example is obviously way more interesting and worthwhile.

If you have access to Speedy Gonzales, one pretty good test is this one outlined here:

https://mgba.io/2017/07/31/holy-grail-bugs-2/#speedy-gonzales-los-gatos-bandidos
That's one I'd like to test, actually. Time is my limiting factor there since you basically have to play through the whole game to get there. If I DO have time, however, I'm going to test it.

I'm in Frankfurt, by the way. If anyone with one of these clone machines happens to be in the area that would be a big help!

Yeah! It'd be great to see the special chip games, especially Yoshi's Island and Super Mario RPG.

I don't know about this but, what about a latency test using wired vs wireless, too? Maybe too much though...

Can I presume your real SNES will be using an OSSC?

I have about 20-30 carts still, the boxes and manuals are long gone and the mere thought of trying to acquire games with boxes and manuals is causing my bank account to shrink not to mention just the huge space they would take up.

Helluva collectors item there. :D Maybe you gotta send that over to Kevtris for testing and firmware updating.
I presume your copy boots on a real SNES, doesn't it?

I dont have the game. I saw someone mentioning this problem in a review. I have a repro coming my way and the thought of a game not working is not sitting well with me considering they advertised it as a 100% compatibility device.

I have two of thei r original SNES controllers ave they work great. I use them with my Super Famicom and my AVS.

I also recently picked up the SFC pro controller and I've been playing AM2R with it and it's been fantastic.

Super NES Mini is the most interesting comparison to me - with real hardware as well, naturally. Super FX chip and Super Game Boy also interest me greatly. Really looking forward to the video, love the analysis you do!

The level "Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy" on Yoshi's Island would be a good comparison given the problem the SNES Classic had with that level.

Other than that please be sure to run Higan at it default settings (no vsync) so any timing differences between it and the real hardware are apparent.

Thanks!
