Underwater combat was an intense and exciting experience. Scary and thrilling. Only thing they needed to fix was drop the really tight claustrophobic areas.
They could just throw it in there at high rank for loonies like me who loved it.
Finished the game yesterday. I did the 2 last elders with my friends, and contrary to many people, I enjoyed the Xeno Jiva fight, it was the first time we had that "HUGE" epic monster impression without the fight being complete bullshit like Zorah.
Will start the road to 49 now, is 418 Def high enough to avoid being one shotted by the tempered monsters ?

I was building up the HR Anjanath hunt in my mind as a big test of strength, so I took some time to farm some HR Tobi and Tzitzi gear... just did the fight though and I was definitely overestimating the difficulty of the hunt. He hit me pretty hard, and I had to panic eat both my max potions, but my HR Tobi Kadachi LS, along with level 3 shock attack buff, just tore through the Anjanath's health. The poor bastard was tailless and limping away within like 5-6 mins. Side note, I carved the tail and got a Anjanath Scale+? Is the Tail only an LR reward?
Tempered monsters drop decorations guaranteed and they also drop streamstones that you can turn into decorations at the melder
Unlocked Pink Rathian assignment.

Do two more Zorah quests I just unlocked to farm a bit
Farm Rathlos a couple of times
Farm HR Anjanath a couple of times
Do Pink Rathian
Clear some optionals
Go forge happy and organise my gear again and set new goals

I don't really have time for the game and when I do I end up helping new people with that Diablos quest lol, still HR13...
Oh well, not in a hurry I guess, I'm gonna start forging a new armor pretty soon.
That's worse to me, I remember having to throw out one of my PS3 controler because playing too much Killzone 2 ruined the left stick thanks to the constant use of L3 to run.
Yeah, it's R1/R2 and L1/L2. I guess I can force myself to run with R1 since it's easier than remembering that R1 and L1 are switched when navigating the menu's but it still sucks that there is no option in game...
Can safaris net you rare monster parts or is it all only more common ones?

Consensus is that Diablos and Nergi CBs are the best. Diablos CB has the highest raw damage of all CBs but -30% affinity, though affinity does not influence SAEDs damage
I beat LR Kirin using bow and it wasn't much of a trouble, try to always focus on the horn and put to use the dashing

We did the dual Kirin event this week end and it doesn't count. Pretty sure the limited bounty is HR Elder dragons only.

A little over two weeks and 95 hours in and I'm still totally hooked to this game. I haven't even messed with the SOS system. Just playing solo or with friends. Did my first arena quest yesterday (from the gathering hub). Surprisingly fun! Hoping to clear out my list of optional quests this week (I still have a bunch of quests for the canteen) and get to HR 50.

You are a front line fighter and you're responsible for breaks with that wyvern fire.
need to do something that hits hard (without being a ultimate) to see if the difference between guard 5 and guard 3 (which I have now) is too noticiable, so far it hasnt been but I only fought tempered bageljuices which mostly hit me with bombs that i didnt block anyway, and kirin which I blocked the lightning fine with guard 3.

Your first roadblock is actually hr29 before you get to 49.
418 is suffice to survive most atk but a few will still one shot you.
You'll get shards from tempered quests to augment your armor where you can upgrade them to level 11.
So it's a gradual upgrade process.
I'm in a good place right now. Hit HR 29, fighting twin bazel tonight to raise my HR again.
Full Nerg Beta with Sin DB gives me 50% affinity at full stamina. Wreck shop in demon mode then enjoy tons of crits in archdemon mode.
Also just need to do a few Nerg runs to get my Decimation Claws.

Someone told me a way to make the fight much less time consuming. Dropping rocks on its head apparently. But yeah, I think I've had my fill now. Tempered monsters don't really interest me if it's just a damage boost. Game was kind of average, I'd rank it below Tri and 4u.
30 monsters, 8 of which I've fought in several games and 3 which are just recolors. Bird and fanged monsters are total pushovers. Boring ass looking weapons. Lacking several categories of monsters. Weapons from previous games with nothing new. Would you like me to go on?
Tobi and Legiana are pretty great though.

Im not saying the criticisms arent valid but if we are gonna cherry pick what makes it not the best I can tear 4U and Tri to shreds as well
