Retro, I can't watch the Food Network without thinking about you, which is a roundabout non-creepy way of saying you've made an indelible mark on this community which I will be forever grateful for.
Hey everyone! So, we threw together a Poll here to see where we are at with some of the hot topics of the Mini Review Thread including Text changes, 10 Post Minimum Warnings, and Activity Levels for the rosters. Once we get the general idea of which direction people want the most we can make changes based on that.

Thank you all, you are all too kind.
I'm not leaving the community. MafiEra is my home. <3 I'll be staying on to assist and advise the new Overseers, and I'll continue to assist with Outer Mafia and Discord. I don't know about playing, but I am hoping soon I can start running games again. (I still have my "Day of the Blargonaut" setup that I want to finish designing and run.) It's going to depend, though, on what my schedule looks like after I finish my degree in April.

With Main Season games done and Buck Bumble well underway, it's time to announce our two Mid-Season games! For our Mid-Season games were are letting Gamerunners pick the Day/Night Phase schedule they with to use. Also a note to our New Players this Season, the Mid-Season games are a lot more experimental than what we open with. Different roles and mechanics are often tried in these games and they can give some interesting results but like anyone here will tell you they are often a ton of fun to play in.
Sign ups for these won't begin until this coming Monday the 19th but here is a little sneak peak of what is coming. :>

I plan to do a strawpoll for the players to decide if they want 72/48 or 48/24
I was just skimming Volcano Island last night since I saw it mentioned as a wild game so often :o
It seems like it'd be fun to participate in something like that, but I'm very unsure that I have enough skill or experience to handle it. Good luck to everyone who does sign up!

No amount of Mafia experience will prepare you for something like Volcano Island.
I'd go for it anyway. "Complex" means there's a lot more mechanics, but the core of mafia is the same from game to game, and if it's really unconventional, everyone will be just as lost. A lot of people started with Harry Potter and it has one of the best retention rates, and even Volcano Island had that ridli guy as a first timer.

I'm still a newbie as well but I'll be signing up for it. Would love to play with you faircure! Despite playing so little, I really liked your playstyle in Buffy!

Since I missed all the wild games of yore, I'm interested.
faircure - if you're not sure, you can do sneakers, too! Smaller games can be a nice way to get to know more players, too.

That will be up to the new overseers, but typically, no, these later games usually have their own individual spec threads.
The bastard complexity sounds like so much fun! Does it only works with big games or is it possible to have smaller ones with it?

It's definitely possible. There are a lot of reasons why a game might be rated as a Bastard game. For example (and to be clear, I'm saying nothing here about Geno's game, one way or another,) any game that requires the Gamerunner to actively lie to the players would immediately be rated Bastard. So something like an insane cop, (who is given false information by the gamerunner) would be a Bastard role.
People have different definitions of bastard, the strictest definition could include fairly common roles like Godfathers and Ninjas, typically it's just applied to very unconventional games.

How small was it? and did you just have to remember who was alive and dead or did the dead have any identification when they talked?
I probably gave you a wrong idea. I'm talking about Metal Gear Solid, which seems to got lost during the transition. It's still visible on the old board, but not where we are now *thinking_emoji* Hecht RetroMG
Anyway, Kalor was a Medium, every night he could receive "information" from a dead player. Of course all the dead townies worked together and were allowed to sent their joint views after dicussion forever :/ But I also was an unlimited scum switcher, so there is that.
The game was great for me, I enjoyed it very much (my first complete game, after a short stint in archer). Don't know what the general perception was though.
