By volume, SFVAE has the best SF OST ever. It's not as consistent as SFII, Alpha 2, or 3S across the board, but you can take the best tracks from SFV and come up with an abridged soundtrack that rivals just about any fighting game.

It's fixed, I had to restart my router it seems.

I think it's a Steam error though because it completely "forgot" my controller settings, controller settings were just disabled when I managed to finally log into the game...

Can't disagree with this. Capcom stepped their game up bigly in the musical department for SFV. I never thought I'd see a SF giving Guilty Gear a run for it's money, but here we are.

SFIV had some good tunes, but most of it is forgettable. I would almost prefer Zangief's SFIV theme to his SFV theme were it not for the weird midi saxophone.

The SFV soundtrack is definitely better at maintaining high quality throughout.

Does anyone think maybe season 4 will begin earlier, perhaps after EVO?
No way they would blow their load like that. Remember that they need to worry about balancing and most certainly want to prolong the season as much as possible.

I'm following Kirblar's thinking that Falke won't be until April. I think it would be foolish to think we're going to get monthly characters. Remember this is Capcom we're talking about.

SF4's OST didn't have variety like SF5's does. Most of it was shitty electronic. For as much love as Juri's theme got, I wasn't a fan of it either. It felt like I was supposed to take a lot of drugs and be into anime to enjoy it.

We already got two back to back though, which no one expected either.

Unless Capcom told it's team to work faster and get multi-seasons per year, i highly doubt season 4 will be earlier than November...

For reference, Season 2 release dates:

Akuma: Dec 20, 2016
Kolin: Feb 28, 2017
Ed: May 30, 2017
Abigail: July 25, 2017
Menat: August 29, 2017
Zeku: October 24, 2017

So if the prediction is correct and Falke comes out by April 10, they'll be 5 weeks ahead of where they were in Season 2. Although the time between Kolin and Ed was also used for the Season 2.5 balance patch. I'd like them to get these 6 out by the end of August, maybe include a bonus character before Season 4 (Decapre?) and then start again in January 2019.

Don't do this to yourself. Its best to keep your expectations in-check and let Capcom surprise you. Just because Capcom finally has content for SFV (Extra Battle stuff mostly) and are tweeting and blogging more often (Extra Battle stuff mostly still!) doesn't mean they'll suddenly be releasing characters monthly and start dropping extra stuff. I'd love to be wrong but we've had to deal with two years of staggered character releases and frustrating delays. I don't expect Capcom to suddenly to a 180.

IMO, if we're going to set up any expectations it should be more reserved expectations. I'm personally expecting: Falke in April, Cody in June, G in August (Evo reveal) and Sagat in September (Tokyo Game Show gameplay reveal just like with Urien in 2016). Better safe than sorry.

They need to redo Juris SFV theme. If you're going to make it a dance track then go all the way.

Masahiro Aoki did the AE Menu theme, both CPT themes, the SFIV OST, and Metro City Bay?

He's my new favorite Capcom composer, no questions asked.

Man, the fact that Gief's cLP doesn't chain into itself seems so insane to me. Don't even know what Capcom was thinking there.

Oh, uh. I don't think I realized Momochoco were actually married. I thought they were just dating. That's pretty cool.

On the topic of OSTs, I really really like Mad Gear Hideout Round1 from SFxT.

....it's probably the only thing I like about the game though.

It's obviously key to keep expectations in check, but ever since the cinematic story I've thought we're probably due Decapre as a free bonus at some point. She's way too close to a 'real' character.

It's worth noting that as per datamining sometime in December when they dropped one of the prep-for-AE patches, they patched it to support more characters - as I recall, it upped the number of potential slots in the back-end to 54. That's enough for through season 6(!) and ten more than USF4, but most notable, I think, is that it's a weird uneven number - it's three more seasons plus two spare slots. As soon as I saw that I thought... they must have this planned out, right? Like, assuming the game is successful, even if they don't yet know the characters they know how many seasons they want to do (and 6 would line up with SF4's lifespan) and so those extra two stand out, and make me think at some point - paid or free - we'll get a couple of 'bonus characters'.

I do actually think there's a strong chance we'll get characters monthly now, though. They clearly have their act together a bit more than before, and I think it'd be better for the pro tour if the season was 'complete' before the halfway point in the season. Plus, if they do this they can focus the back end of the year on fanservice cosmetic content like stages, costumes and music, all of which make bank for them.

SFV Ost is god tier. Nearly all genres i can think of are in and done very well. The game simply sounds very good outside of music too.

Quick correction: he did the SF4 arrangements on SFV, SF4's original composer is Hideyuki Fukasawa.

Masahiro Aoki is great. All of the guitar-based tracks in SFV are excellent.

I really hope they're going to give us the ability (presumably a FM unlock) to put the other SF character select/versus/victory themes from arcade into rotation when we're playing online. Preferably have it be random, even, so it's a little different every match.

It was also the best way Abigail was ever featured in a video game.

Off in the background, not involved in anything game-related.
I like 3S for the same reason. Only gotta deal with that ice bimbo for a few frames.
If you remove the lyrics, it would be top tier. As is, though...
Mine too. :D All of those, the Guile themes, Kasugano Residence, the AE credits theme, and then some. He put in some serious work on this OST.
I didn't even read the whole thing. Knowing he did the Kasugano Stage and Guile's Stage as well def cements this to me.

I'm aware, i just worded it badly. Fukasawa's one of my least fave composers at Capcom. Ruined both SFIV and MvC3 OSTs. Even his SFV tracks are pretty bad.

Holy shit random CSS themes would be sick. SFIV's CSS alone would make me buy that.

I'm so disappointed Hideyuki Fukasawa isn't the sole composer for SFV's soundtrack. I did like his work on the SFIV soundtrack.
