Please kill Rick off by the end of the season, that last shot of the episode gives me hope that they'll end this train wreck with Rick's death and aftermath in S9.
Andrew Lincoln deserves better.
So did Chandler Riggs.

It's not happening but who knows, maybe Lincoln gets tired of this crap too and decides to leave. It would be come the Daryl show lol. That is the only actor who's never fucking leaving, he knows he struck gold with this and couldn't act in anything else so he's making bank until he can't anymore.

Fear is on a different timeline, though. Where we just left off in Fear would be the equivalent of somewhere around S2 of TWD, give or take, wouldn't it?
The Fear showrunners have said that they will have a present-day Morgan on the show. That presumably means that the show is getting full time-skip or some kind of flash-forward.

To me it kinda reeks of trying to have their cake and eat it too, but we'll see how it pans out.

Ah, didn't know that. Yeah, that sounds...kinda' goofy. That'd be a pretty significant time skip.

I think Maggie will be killed off too

Can't see them getting rid of two major characters in one single season. Carl was so big that he already counts like two, so I guess this is it for important deaths this year, also Morgan is leaving so even if he won't die it's another player that goes away.
Maybe a secondary character might bite it like Rosita or Ezekiel.

Regarding Maggie, they'll probably pull off the "I'm better than you so I won't kill you" card which is basically the main plot of the last three fucking seasons.

This seems very bad considering what everyone knew the episode would be about.

I mean, that's a bad drop from last year in general.

Oh honey, this show isn't going to end. AMC called this the next Star Trek.

You're going to be watching zombies, people shooting at each other behind cover for half an hour, and Negan's lean until the end of time.

Danai has a very front and center role in BP and now Infinity War as well, supporting or not.

She's about to be big league now.
You're definitely right but Danai also said she loves doing TWD. And her current contract runs till the end of S9 if I'm not mistaken. So she probably won't be going anywhere for at least a little while.
And she might end up getting
some form of Andrea's death in the next few seasons anyways.
If not I'm sure she could continue to balance the show and whatever other projects she's doing. Like she's done with both BP and her Broadway stuff.
Only person we should be worried about leaving at the moment is Lauren Cohan. But hopefully that doesn't happen and she will get a pay increase.

The way you can go several episodes without seeing some main characters, I see little reason for most of these actors to leave the show unless they have a good reason to leave (like Lauren Cohen and the contract dispute). Danai managed to film 2 movies while still being a main character.

Honestly I would say without Danai the Carl scenes work about half as effectively

She did some heavy fucking lifting.

Pretty happy about the ratings drop. Only way things change is they realize people are tuning out and it isn't a guaranteed thing anymore.

Honestly I don't think it matters much when you're pulling 8M viewers in your 8th season. It'd take a hell of a drop in viewership to get them to actually considering changing anything.

It sucks that I gave up on this show because of a major character death but I'm honestly not feeling the show anymore now. I couldn't even finish this episode. That's it for me, after all these years. Farewell, The Walking Dead.

Yeah, if you asked me two years ago if I would stop watching Walking Dead, I would have laughted at that notion. But now, at the very least, I'm waiting for the reception of next season to see if the new showrunner improves the show. This past season and the one before has been such a frustrating slog, with only a few great moments peppered throughout. That I couldn't be bothered to watch Carl's farewell episode or even felt anything for a major character's death really highlights the current failings of the show

Feel like this might be my last episode. I've been hate watching for a while, and that's been fun, but right now it feels like it's not enough.

It's amazing how fast the zombies fall apart now, yet can bite hard enough to puncture skin still.
