Took all weekend and this evening, but finally finished the plus size AT-AT MOC
Pen for scale.
This is awesome, and doesn't deserve to be buried at the bottom of a page. Very well done, and I love the interior and how if feels like a crew of guys actually inside operating it.

I don't really get discord. How is it much different from a forum? And if you have a lot of channels going on it gets difficult to keep on top rather than being able to browse from your last read post.

Yeah the discord is way to fast for me to follow, but it's just a different kind of communication. Once you get used to it it's quite natural. Although I do prefer this thread.
so i've got two of the old spiderman bridge battle set that i've had for a while (yay clearance). gonna build em this week, then try to figure out what i'm doing with them. probably gonna combine them into some kind of modular town accessory. high line style park maybe? I don't have enough intersting cars for it to be worth it. some kind of ambitious plan to repurpose it for parts in some radically different moc would be fun to dream about, but i have enough wild moc daydreams.
OH! Speaking of sets that sat in my house unbuilt forever, we had a copy of an unexpected gathering in our house for ages, and we finally built it. so damn cute oh my soul. it's gonna live in our living room forever immersed in our windowsill garden.

I ordered Destiny's Bounty from Amazon and they shipped it without double boxing it. It arrived with both ends open and bags falling out as soon as my dad picked it up off the porch. He said the driver was running back to his car and yelled "that's how I got it" before driving away.
Is it just me, as has Amazon just been getting worse and worse the bigger they get? I guess that's to be expected.
I mean they're gonna replace it as they always do, but it's really shitty to ship a $160 item like that. I also really hate when they use their couriers for delivery. Only time I ever problems is with them.
Oh well, not like I was gonna start building it tonight anyways. Hopefully the replacement is handled better.

It happened to me last Black Friday with the Palace Cinema. Worse cause they cannot send me a replacement since it was out of stock. They offered me a 30% off discount for the trouble, in the end I got it for less than $50 so it was worth it. But it sucks.
Not sure, but I also had a courier mark an apple pencil delivered at almost midnight a while back. I happened to be awake and of course there was nothing there. Also had a couple other small items go missing when delivered by a courier. Amazon always replaces it, but still I've never had any legit shipping carrier steal something. This was the first time I had them ship something without a box though. Usually they use way too big of a box or ship an order in several separate boxes so I have no idea what happened here.
Damn that sucks. I guess the discount is something though.

Yea my thought was either he opened the box to steal a couple bags and minifigs or whatever, which is probably unlikely, or he was telling the truth. Either way he got out of there asap and didn't want to deal with it. I guess I don't blame him for that, but if it was me I wouldn't have even tried to deliver it, I would have taken it back and questioned how I could be expected to deliver something like that. I dunno maybe that's not feasible, I've never done that kind of work.
I've heard people with similar horror stories like you. Every single one of my LEGO orders were shipped in a box. I think it's a training issue with people fulfilling shipments. Some packages can go with just existing box packaging which I've gotten (which tend to be big). Person made a wrong call with that LEGO set. I'm pretty sure issue doesnt happen with smaller LEGO sets.
Some items on Amazon have the following, "Packaging may reveal contents. Choose Conceal Package at checkout" if you don't go into gift options and select to add a box, then they will ship just the item with the shipping label on it. Destiny's Bounty is like that.

See I only noticed "frustration free packaging" when placing the order. I see it now on desktop, but on mobile you don't see that until way down the page. Regardless, something like that should be right near the add to cart button or price or something like that. It also should never be an option for a Lego set as evidenced by what happened to my order. I don't know what they are thinking with that.

How about Go Brick Me for a contest set? It's out next month and is a little more expensive at $30, but has pretty excellent value with over 700 pieces. People could either make themselves, someone famous, characters from stuff, whatever using the pieces from the set only.

I guess that the website popups "100+ are looking at this" "odered by 100+ people in 48 hours" say enough of the demand for that mistaken price
There are some comments on reddit that people were able to get it in-store with various success. Or even got price matched by other stores.
Anyways, I guess what was there to take is already taken. It was quick.
That just might work. it will show up as two separate smaller charges on my credit card, thus not looking like i spent so much.

But I'd back it as a competition option since it's such an open slate, heck I'd say there's more than enough there if somebody wants to try and make something other than a brick head. I'd say an 6x6 brickplatete limitation challenge would be more interesting
When can we expect a UCS Hulkbuster Jang review? Doesn't he or others get these sets early usually? They will help me make up my mind to either pass on it or get it.

Noob to Lego (as an adult) question, does Amazon generally carry all the sets? I am wanting to get set 75886 for my daughter. It's on Lego's official site but not Amazon yet. The shipping is rather ridiculous ($25) on the official site so that's why I am wondering if/when Amazon will carry it. It just came out to my knowledge so may just need to wait a bit.

There's sometimes one or two small sets out of a theme that are exclusive to a specific retailer (+ being up on lego's site) but idk if that's one. might just not be up yet.
From my experience, amazon doesn't really carry much of Speed Champions. If they sold it at some point, they probably a pathetically low number. I've always had to rely on TRU and S@H for the speed champions sets.
In the past, the Speed Champions would take a few weeks before getting the Toys R Us price bump. I had to go somewhere right by there today so figured I'd check and they already had them priced up. $15 sets for $17 gtfo
