Love my Caudabe Lucid clear case. It's clear hard case that's so thin and minimalistic, my wife said "why don't you have a case on your phone."

main_photo_-_crystal_2048x2048.jpg

Hate the amount of waste space and how high the keyboard is. Hope they adjust this.

I absolutely hate the location of the control center on the upper right.

The "multitasking" trick people have been talking about (swipe an inverted L to pull up the multitasking) hardly works. Most of the time it goes to home. The amount of finesse you need to pull that up quickly is too much work and unintuitive. C'mon Apple.

On the topic of the multitasking app switcher, why do I have to hold my finger on an app for the red "-" icon to pop up for me to close an app? Why not just have that icon on there persistently the moment the app switcher is on to make closing apps quickly?

Loving the swiping on the bottom of the screen to switch apps. It's amazing.

Hate the way video apps are complying with Apple's guidelines and avoiding the notch. I don't want to zoom in on the video and lose parts of the video. Give us an option to fill in the effin space with the notch!

FaceID has worked for me wonderfully. It failed to recognize me far less than when TouchId failed to recognize my fingerprint (which was often).

I feel we've reached some form of diminishing returns on the mobile cameras, save for the Pixel 2. I see no difference in camera quality.

Shout-out to whoever mentioned the caudable cases first, the clear one is definitely the best I've ever owned

The Inverted L to multitask works for me 100% of the time.

The upper corner thing is a little rough for control center

The app killing thing makes sense, generally you don't need to kill apps in iOS

Found out that I am eligible for an upgrade and really stuck between the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X. I really want the X for the camera and the screen, but I'm conflicted.

I'm confused... are people not aware that swiping right immediately app switches to your last app? Same as the 3D Touch app Switch Effect?

The multitasking gesture is great to me.

Inverted L works 100%. You swipe up, then right all the way off the screen. It will lock into the card view.
If you swipe up and make a U-turn to the right most corner you'll switch directly into the previous app, If you U-turn to the left corner, you move directly the other way.

The reachability gesture works fine for me too, but phone is too big and heavy for longer one handed sessions anyway.

For control center, you don't need to swipe down from the very top of the phone, just the notch area.

So if the True Tone sensor is on the front of phone could you make a screen calibration app where you press your iPhone against a computer monitor and automatically calibrate your screen by Bluetooth or something?

I mean is that something open to devs?

People are talking all these weird ways to switch to their last app but on X you can go back and forth easier than ever so I'm really lost

It does make up for it, I admit.

Jesus Christ. Just ordered this right this second because of your post and pic. God damn.

Glad to hear it! Its an amazing case. My wife's face as I told her to look again was priceless.

Don't think of like an inverted L.

Make a little crescent or partial circle. Like the top part of a little wheel is run across the bottom of the display.

Hell If you swipe nearly straight over the bar it should do it.

Yeah the bar is actually just a scroll bar.

Any takers on the over/under it animated like one within 18mos?

Where should I "start" this gesture. Which part of the screen exactly?

I'm baffled by the inverted L thing. It's so unnecessary. You just need to stop moving up and let go and it instantly goes to the app switcher.

Any tips on making it work more consistently?
Go to your home screen and look at the bottom dock row. It's a shaded rectangle holding the icons right?
Just swipe up to just over the top edge of the shaded rectangle, then go right following the line off the screen. Those are the approx distances. You should always land in card view after that.

I'm really not feeling the size. So used to gigantic phones like the pluses and notes lol.

It'd be great if they introduced an IPhone XI Plus next year.

It's really not though, you don't need to pause at all. You just need to be stop moving up and let go.
You know what, you're right.
It's really the same thing.

I just practiced a few times swiping up and stopping. Worked fine.
I think a lot of people don't stop properly, and instead trail off a bit causing it to just go to the home screen.

I'm sure everyone will feel this out in no time.
No need for the L. I'm done with the L.

Oh my goodness this worked perfect. Thank you!

I thought to start the gesture at the "lower left" or "lower right" (next to the "action line" and stopped the gesture before the screen ended. That didn't work. Your suggestion worked perfect.

I just got used to this!

Tried the "stop" thing. Problem is when you need to do it fast it takes you to the home screen.

I don't know, Ill have to use both methods day to day to see.

Still think its not very intuitive.

I think that's what's tripping people up, the stop moving part.

You don't to wait for the other apps to open. Just slide the bar up any amount, stop, and let go. It'll do the rest. No pause necessary

Y'all complicate stuff lol. App switcher is just a straight swipe up, but you don't lift your finger off the screen. It's the same as the home swipe but you just Don't break contact with the screen and it'll go into the switcher. As soon as your finger halts movement for a moment, it's bumped into the switcher

For anyone that was asking about checking out 4k hdr content on the phone to see what it looks like. If you dont pay for the 4k content on netflix you can go to the itunes store and in the movies section they have a whole section dedicated to 4k hdr movies. Just click on any of those movies and watch the trailers. They look amazing and its a quick way to show off what it can do.

What! It can't be that good. How often do you use your phone? I don't remember the battery in this thing being big either. I did read few tweets how some guy thinks the battery is bad but he did mention his phone is running hot.

Does it discolor? Because every clear TPU case or product I owned has discolored overtime and looked like an ugly piece of crap. I only stuck with bumpers for that reason alone. If this doesn't then I might consider it.

The good thing about the CC placement is being able to instantly get to screen rotation during a video instead of having to swipe up like 3 times in a row.

Dont think it discolors as its not a TPU case. Its like a hard plastic type of case. You also get one year warranty with it.

I posted a couple pics a few pages ago of the phone in the case (They aren't the best pics as I was in a hurry).. Here they are:

I use it quite a bit. 3 phone calls and internet, Twitter, texting. The real test will be Monday at work. I listen to podcasts for like 4 hours

Are you sure the trailers have HDR? I just watched the WW trailer side by side on the X and 6S and I can't really see a difference.

Does anyone else's phone get pretty warm when charging? I'm using the iPad wall adapter to charge faster, but feeling it get this hot is a little concerning.

Apparently theres a way to add a virtual home button from the Accesibilities menu in the settings for all those who dont want to swipe to do stuff.

I thought it might be. Watched The Revenant and Transformers trailers and they looked so amazing. I dont think the phone gives you a heads up when watching hdr content as it never says anything when i try watching dolby vision content on netflix like my tv always does when it switches.

Yeah, and this works. But this is actually slower. (only very slightly though)
If you move up and just stop and let go, it will go to the switcher instantly. No need to wait for the bump + pause.

Why not have an option like Samsung's default video player - to have crop to fit (parts will be missing) and stretch to fit (stretch everything wide but may look weird)?

The trailers are not in HDR

Totally normal, it's sucking in a lot of electricity. Heat is a natural byproduct
