Sure, that i've seen :) Sorry if i was unprecise on that matter. I'm wondering why have level 2 and 3 on jewels if they have no other function than the level 1 jewels? Or does the level 2 and 3 jewels have properties that arent found on level 1 jewels?

Some are considered more powerful so you'll need to invest in mixed sets to take advantage of them for some skills. That's my takeaway on the different slot sizes.

Because some skills are so valuable that the devs want them to be limited in how you get them. 1-slot jewels are generally for weaker skills because it's much easier to get pieces of gear with slots for them. But 3-slot skills are really good, stuff like Handicraft and Earplugs, and the devs want to make you work for them.

Though oddly it seems like the 2-slot skills are the best and a lot of the 3-slot skills are crap...

are you at the point where you're farming tempered monsters?

lmao that female Jho armour suuuuuucks. So glad I made a male hunter. Even when they aren't grotesquely sexualized, the female armours look like shite anyway.

Tons of weapon rebalancing, but this change jumped out at me:
h4gFgLH.jpg
Kinda crazy that this wasn't in the game to start with, to be honest. I never had carve griefers in my hundreds of hours of playing Tri/3U and World, but in World, I'd often have monsters like Bazelgeuse interrupt my carves and it was really annoying (never got bad to the point where I missed carves, but it was still obnoxious).

There are 5-6 female armors I absolutely adore. The rest I wish I could swap with male gear.

I've been messing around with my different builds. Just maxing out certain skills in a complete armor set (not into mixed sets) to the max and matching them with certain weapons. I'm enjoying it and it's like a mini-challenge.
My challenge was to get a hammer build with max handicraft, max slugger and 0% crit. FInally finished yesterday.
Also god damn grinding for armor cores is the most tedious shit. Always doing hunts you don't need anything from but to complete them lol. That's the problem when you have so many different builds and don't want to die to tempered monsters...gotta have hundreds of armor cores.

Yeah I'm regretting going female. Glad we can change that now.

Same. Vaal and Odo in particular look awsome.
Welp... Can't be helped.
That sounds like such a fun set to use. I want to try and make a set like that with the Super recovery set bonus.
I tried that but it's almost impossible because of the slots. You get a ton of level one slots which are ok for stun resistance, and you can maybe go for a bazel helmet and level 3 earplug charm...but that's it.
I'd recommend going for 3 vitality decos in the level 1 slots because it scales with the lifesteal and the recovery up% ones you should also use 3 of. that's 6 slots gone already.

The triple Tzitzi-Ya-Ku quest is so good for HR grinding. It's super quick and easy and gives a nice chunk the of HR point bar. I'll miss it when it goes away.

Of course, it helps if you're a HHer with All Ailments Negated...

Agree, now that I'm making different armor sets, getting armor cores is the biggest grind, haha

Thoughts on the patch: yay for gender swap.

That Rathalos Ruby eludes me after doing about 10 investigations for Rathalos/Azure Rathalos, also got no Golden Ticket for the Melder to forge one... Is there a chance for one to drop in a tempered investigation? I got some tempered Rathalos and Azure investigations lying around, but not sure if this is as effective as grinding gold/silver reward investigations.

Isn't all ailments resistance including stun?

You can still get gems from tempered monsters, but it's less likely because the bonus rewards will always be decorations or warrior/hero streamstones.
If you want a gem go for an investigation with silver/gold rewards.

Yes, but they don't need to use that HH, is what I'm saying. Just max out no Stun and use a faster weapon for them.
Aren't all those ailment resistance ones like para, sleep and stun useless as soon you got 3 of those all ailment res jewels? They are rarity 6 I believe so it schouldn't take long.

Yep. There's a charm as well. They are level 1 too and only need 3 of them to get protection form all ailments, so I really don't see the point in all those jewels that focus on one ailment resistance.

I have received zero decos for the ailment res one. Charm??? Didn't see that one. I had a ton of anti-stun decos so might as well use them.

Tzitzi is a shitty fight so if people just wanna farm it and not bother making extra stuff, just saying they can use anti-stun decos for it. No need for HH or anything else.

I'm about 90% sure there's not an "all ailments resisted" charm or decoration. There's blight resist, which stops all elemental blights, but everything else has its own charm/decoration.

Maybe it's only blight resistance instead of abnormal status resistance and I got confused by the wording, I don't know lol.

ok good, I made a maxed out anti-paralyze charm recentyl and i would've been pissed if ailment res charm existed.

yea, ailment res is def different than elemental blight res.

Well that kinda puts a damper on things. Imma still try to make it, but will most likely have to make a sacrifice somewhere.

Btw do we know what roars we're protected from based on level?

Looks like good timing on my part to move from charge blade to longsword. Hopefully the dmg on SAED isn't nerfed too much as it's still a skill shot that requires proper execution.

Does it give more HRP than the Temp Ian/Los Sub quest in the arena? I did it a few times for the shades but it didn't particularly jump at me in that regard.

I don't recall it giving as much XP as the other events. But they are so annoying to fight that after I got the sunglasses, I stopped playing it.

One of the wikis, fextralife I think, categorizes the monster into 3 groups. Earplugs 1,3, and 5 grants immunity to each corresponding group of monsters and below, 2 and 4 reduces stun time.

I'm happy with my female hunter and the armor in general. But what I don't get is why all* the armor is, well, skimpy. Like, every HR armor set has two versions. So why not make one revealing and one tanky? More options always a good thing and it's so weird they'd rather limit you to one option instead.

I'm also disappointed a transmogrify option hasn't been announced with the new update.

* OK, not all, but many good ones are in one way or another.

I wouldn't say all. There's only a handful that are actually skimpy. I use like 9 complete armor sets and 7 of them are fully armored or covered.

The only skimpy armor I can think of on the top of my head is Anjanath, Nergi and Kirin. The rest is fine for the most part.

Understood. I was with the mindset that the skills that the level 2 and 3 jewles have, that these were the same type of skills that were being offered with level 1 jewels. That is why i questioned what the point was. I dont know why i didnt consider this to begin with, that level 2 and 3 jewels might have unique skills, then it makes sense :) Thanks for the answers! :)

If you want a gem go for an investigation with silver/gold rewards.

I was wondering if the people complaining about gems were doing tempered instead of gold/silver. You cut your odds of getting at least one gem from 45% for a 2Gold/2Silver investigation with a wounded horn to 8.8% for the same kill with purple rewards. Even a crappy 2 silver reward bump the probability up to 21%.

Why bother with a half arsed gender swap when you could just make all armour genderless instead? 4 options per set is way better than limiting yourself to a different 2.

I think the thing I'm dreading most about eventually farming elders is the need to mix sets for the best loadouts. Performing while you look that bad the real end game.

Couch = cart

To be fair though the high end sets from elders gets the job done.

Heh heh, I die way less than all the mixed set guys I see online. It's not that bad at all especially once you augmented and maxed out the armor for the entire set. This includes non-Elder Dragon sets.

Finally decided. CB, Hammer, LS and Bow mastered.

GS is next. Then maybe Switch Axe or SnS. Making at least one build for each weapon too.

Just finished the story and I think I'll take a break from the game until the update drops. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with it. It's my first Monter Hunter game and I can totally see why this series is so successful. There's so much depth to everything and you are constantly learning and discovering new things. My only gripe with the game was perhaps the last third where there were a lot of new monsters, but also a lot of old ones. They could've at least changed them a bit visually and give them new moves. And I kinda felt that the story hit a low point after you dealt with the first elder dragon, as there was no great incentive to continue hunting after that. They could've setup the last awesome boss much, much better. But overall a really great game! I'm really looking forward to the next one. :)

Fashion Hunter would be a lot easier if they weren't so stingy with color changes for armor. Every set that uses the Kaiser gloves B I have to remember my arms are going to be bright red no matter what I want because the only thing that changes is the fucking emblem on the elbow.

You guys ever have an issue failing to a monster you have already beat the shit out of? I got the Optional Black Diablos quest last night and beat it first try. I got an expedition from that to fight it again, and I beat her again first try. I then failed the next THREE expeditions (2 faints), I was so tilt I had to quit the game. I only need one more fuckin black horn or whatever and I can't seem to beat her again.

Shit is nuts.

Skimpy wasn't the right word. I meant more like, female armor always has openings. Exposed parts. Thighs, face, stomach... there's almost always some skin exposure. And I don't mind, but I would've liked a completely covered alternative as well.

Oh ok, yea, some sets def didn't need it altho i don't personally mind a bit of skin here and there. The bikini ones are just so blatant.

It annoys me when the rest of the set is covered and looks cool, but then it's like "Nope, your thighs don't matter!" And of course you get a camera shot right at the exposed flesh when you crawl through an opening. Your perv side is showing, art director. :P
