Naw the quests rotate and the upcoming Spring Event will have all the Event quests released thus far available all at once
Tier 2 quests actually have a higher occurrence of warped feystones (the highest tier)
I don't know what I find weirder: an Anjanath in the wild spire (a multi monster investigation?) or a bowgun automatically shooting to your back (autolock engaged?)
I've been playing dual swords and bow most and more and more I think bow is the better option. Last night I fought Odogaron and spent so much time running after him trying to get in range that it was annoying. I fought him again with the bow and it was night and day. Not to mention all the ones which fly. So I think I will continue to have a ranged option and a melee one but if I ever have to make a choice it will be the bow I think. Keen to try sword and shield next though as I like the idea of being able to block.

Yea, IG is pretty fun. I'm just constantly flying around on top of the monsters causing massive damage. I think I might need to add Flinch Free to my gear tho. Fucking Bow users constantly shooting me outta my airborne combos. I legit started to hate Bow users last night who kept knocking me off.
Omgog... Hammer is fking ridiculous. Managed to kill Nergigante in 6 minutes despite only using it for 5 hunt and don't even know the most efficient combo. Tested the same hunt with SnS, also get 6 minutes, but I have 220 hunt with it...
Yeah, Hammer is awesome. When you get use to it you will be clearing Nerg much faster than that =) If you are looking for one and done Hammer then go with Diablos, put Handicraft 5, Attack 7, weakness 3, max migh 2 and focus 1. Rockstedy and affinity booster and you are gonna destroy shit :)
My fastest Nerg run with hammer was 1:43 but I'm sure I can go under 1:30.
Anjanath investigations are either in the Wild Spire or Ancient Forest, there's also an optional quest with the monster in the wild spire. With the Heavy Bowgun I found that after you roll and shoot the cluster bomb from the hip you can direct the shot almost directly behind you if you hold that direction while shooting, makes for a cool shot, roll towards the camera and take the shot and it'll land from the spot you rolled from.
I always craft every weapon for each weapon category and then I make a build for each. Obviously I have a super dps build for each category if I need to farm something quick but most of the time I use different weapons for each monster.
You are supposed to hit him one-two time then immediately roll, lots of cart happen because people get greedy with their combo. I use Greatsword for Kirin, and only hit him once when there is opening then roll, don't even bother using the Charged Slash.
Try to get White Sharpness to prevent bouncing when his aura up. I beleieve Bazel HH can get to white with Handicraft.
Try to fight him at the area with many Vigorwasp, the area also have many ledge for mounting opportunity.
Only use Vitality/Thunderproof mantle when he is covered in aura.
Use CoralHorn Palico Gadget for the Stun resist, DEF boost, and Divine Blessing buff. Use Radobaan weapon for your Palico, and bomb him when the Sleep proc.
Stack defensive skill like Health Boost 3, Divine Blessing 3 and Thunder Resist. Also bring Armor Talon/Charm, Mega Armordrug, Armor Seeds, Armor Powder.
His Thunder is fairly predictable, don't come near it when he does random lightning, attack it when it does the super lightning (especially if he target your cat), attack it when he summons lightning on his front only, don't attack it when he does the ground lightning (unless you are right beside him, then hit him after he do the ground lightning).
Kirin don't seem to have that many Health, managed to kill him in 10 minutes despite only using draw attack with GS, whereas it took me 13 minutes against Vaal landing tons of True Charged Slash.
This is what I do, at least for now. I get what I think is cool an fun. If I happen to get a great weapon or armor set while going after the fun stuff then that's awesome too.
Yea, hopefully the buffs and update next week will create more diverse builds. But I'm def gonna make less popular weapons and try to create strong builds with them. It'll be an extra end game challenge for me.

I wish there was more monsters weak to fire, I'm a sucker for Rathalos fire weapons =) Jagras SnS water weapon is super op but no one ever uses it. Everyone just goes raw and elemental builds can as powerful or sometimes even more powerful than raw.
Oh, there are. Monsters like Great Jagras, Paolumu, Kirin etc are weak to fire so I guess you can use those weapons on them.
Hopefully we see more differences in weaknesses as they add more monsters.
Yah I know, I just wish there were more of them ;) I love to use them against Hazak. Anju fire hammer can make a short work of Kirin =)
Not endemic life researcher. Fish Aficionado is a minor npc that hangs out near the Argosy.
Oh, you mean those babes that hang around and stare at the fish all day. I think every NPC had something to say. They might say something later. I've noticed not all NPCs get the (!) sometimes.
Finally unlocked my hunter rank, which went up to 41. I guess I'm in end-game now.
The two tempered Bazel quest was simple with a bow (Aloy's war bow in my case). It's one of the few monsters where I'm comfortable using dragon piercers (I don't use the bow often).
Not sure I'd have enjoyed it as much in melee.
I carted once since I got knocked over by the 1st bazel just as the 2nd one did a bombing run. I got up and looked around at a field full of bomb pods. YouAreAlreadyDead.gif. Even superman couldn't save me from that.

Aggrovate 1 and the other should swoop in. Hide in nearby shrubs and let war play out. I left one get the other to near death then hunted it down, and dealth with the last one.
Now you have Tempered Kirin to look forward to at HR49, then it's a free climb to HR100.
I also did the two Bazels with a bow after beng mauled, set on fire and exploded when trying to do it in melee :)
to be fair when I search for SoS runs if I see tempered Kirin missions I usually skip past them. Although I did run a HR50 tempered Kirin run and that got filled even though I did it for a test run.
Got the sharpness (protective polish) jewel last night! I am now done with sniping jewels. I got a lot of good stuff along the way. I just hope they don't add stuff to the pool of decorations.

I feel it skill(s) will have something to do with stealing eggs, though I would not know which skills that could be. If it's just the skill to move eggs faster, which is also on the Kulu gloves I think, it would be disappointing.
Well, as much as a equipable Kulu-Ya-Ku head can be disappointing anyway.
I've been rocking the wiggler head for my Hunting Horn set. I needed some extra decoration slots and that was the best I had crafted. I only traded about 10 points of defense compared to what I had before plus now I'm all...wiggly.
thing about monsters that moves alot and weap that does sm dmg but fast atk motion is that you dont get alot of uptime for the amount of time its actually standing still for you to hit. which makes certain weap that just need 1 short moment to deal 1 yuuuge blow more advantageous ( ie. GS).
buy yea, any wrap that does mote dmg per hit and only need 1 short moment to do so is quite nice.
Man, I never thought I'm gonna say this but I kind of miss water battles and I would like it back. If they could improve it like they did the rest I think it could be rather nice.
I don't miss the battles but I super miss the monsters. I think leviathan monsters might be my favorite kind, especially Lagi.
It's just a shame that Lagi's land moveset, even the updated one, is pretty shitty. Guess that leaves Mizu and Agnaktor as the best ones, even if Lagi is by far the coolest looking.

With the T2 tempered tracks, are the investigations you get always the same type of monster as the tracks you've collected, or can it be any monster in that tier? I've been farming Diabolos tracks and have only got a couple of Diabolos investigations so far.
Kulu-Ya-Ku is my spirit animal. I like to use his armor and weapons to, like, champion him and hunt big monsters with them. Have you seen the recent Deviljho stream? I'm going to hunt that pickle with a Kulu-Ya-Ku weapon. Payback time.Welp

The irony being, of course, I can't just walk up to him and ask him for a feather to attach to my glaive. I have to beat him up. :'(
I dig out my WiiU from the closet to play some 3U and it really made me miss it lol I miss a lot of stuff from 3U actually, we could use some monsters and locations from it.
I really hope we can get Zin after Jiho.

I like the Kulu weapons in general. They ultimately don't hold up against the level 8 weapons, but you could do a lot worse than decent damage, blue sharpness and high affinity. And the designs are simple but effective.
I just wish they gave him (and monsters like him, such as Tzitzi or Barroth) at least one unique looking level 7 weapon. Like Pukei-Pukei has the flower hammer.
The only problem is that at higher levels you need the Hardened ones, which are like 4x the value of the AAs.
