It took 163 goddamn Teostras for the large gold crown to finally appear.
I am neither happy nor excited at this point, just able to finally exhale.

On the bright side, you'll never be needing a Teostra Gem again. It took 163 goddamn Teostras for the large gold crown to finally appear.

It probably won't be.Jesus Christ, I didn't realize just how fast Azure Rathalos attacks in World until I tried fighting him without Flash Bombs in the Arena (I didn't realize they gave you 3 flash bombs until the end of the quest). Never again. I can't even imagine how fast he will be in G-Rank.

I think I get what you mean. Just wore it against tempered Diablos and the complete lack of knockback and similar effects is nice, but it also makes you think you're not taking damage while you very much are.
Bazel stuff looks ugly???? That's the worst opinion I've heard in a while. The lion themed helmet specifically looks sick as hell
That's the kinda quest where I can't trust anyone but myself with. I think I would constantly be stressed for the other hunters to perform well
You should check the previous version of it. I think I preferred the older version by just a bit:
I made a status effect build with a focus on blast. After making every hammer and long sword, I was ready to walk away. My jewel and stone luck is pure trash so why keep going? Before stepping away I wanted to learn how to use at least 1 ranged weapon so I picked up a bow.
MY GOD ITS AWESOME!! I went with the diablos dragon piercer build that gaijin hunter has up. Ran it all weakend, using it to learn how to be a better hunter. Just about an hour ago I learned about stunlocking monsters with arc shot and stamina drain. I need to know more about the weapon. Anyone using any funky builds?
You can't do HR Kirin before doing Tempered Kirin. lol. It's pretty dumb. Clearing tempered Kirin unlocks the HR quest, which is then piss-easy. Unless there was another way to do HR Kirin before that? I couldn't see it.Have you done HR Kirin before? (Non-tempered) You could always practice on him.
I did HR Kirin before Tempered. I try to complete every side quest before advancing the story. You can't do HR Kirin before doing Tempered Kirin. lol. It's pretty dumb. I got tempered Kirin on my first try. Carted only once and it wasn't even lightning, but the charge move haha. I underestimated the damage (tempered, yeah... oops). I was overprepared for the lightning: rotationg lightning and vitality mantles, thunder resist gem+3, full stun resist, paralysis resist (I think at +2 or +3, I forgot), used a bow to kite as safely as possible and sleep bombed him 3x (including when he retreated to sleep). Took forever, but it was safe at least.
Then I did the HR one with my hammer and just rekt him in a few minutes. lol >_<
You could. The two Kirin quests are tied to the biological research team. I'm not sure exactly which conditions have to be met to unlock the HR one, but I unlocked it way before I got to HR49 (though after the final boss). The quest was given by the impatient biologist (the short, old wyverian at the table in Astera, near the tree). You can't do HR Kirin before doing Tempered Kirin. lol. It's pretty dumb. Check the monster field guide in-game. The species of the monsters is written above its name.Is there a good infographic out there showing which species the different monsters fit into? I never know which is bird vs fang vs brute, etc.
And I have no idea how the female one looks lol. Guess I shouldn't have just assumed you were on about the male version.Tempered Diablos is more difficult than tempered elder dragons. It wrecked me. You really can't afford to get hit even once.

Not bad, but I like the World version better. The older version sounds more repetitive, perhaps due to the loud beat.
While I love Bazel gear in general, I actually think the helmet looks kind of shitty. The female version at least, I don't know how the male one looks.
First time seeing a turf war between Nergigante and Kushala Daora (or Nergigante and anything, really), and what does Nergigante do? Not only wrecks him instantly but then launches Kushala's body directly at me lol! Was cool.
Yeah I didn't think it was possible to see a turf war between elders. Wasn't going on long, maybe 10 mins? I noticed some shadows coming in and knew they couldn't be Nergigante's, then turf war notice came up, then they start fighting. I usually solo him because it's faster for me, but this time I was with other players, and it happened. I have like 110 hours. When did this occur? How long was your quest ongoing? I did not see a elder turf war in 300h ...

Every player I was with just backed up real quick thinking we were gonna have to fight them both now.
Yeah, it was that Eater of Elders quest.
It takes forever to kill anything no matter the weapon if you're not using it effectively. Some possible reasons for low damage might be
Not hitting the right areas
Not using coatings
Being out of range (I see this all the time in multiplayer)
Not using charged shots (dodge charge or combo fire charge as well as just regular charging)
Taking the wrong bow into the fight (bad match up with element for example)
I would argue bows are one of the most over powered weapons. Very mobile, high damage, easy to target areas for breaking parts and just relatively safe to use unless you spam dragon piercer.
I made a status effect build with a focus on blast.
Great Hunters Bow - Physique Jewel 2
Dragonking Eyepatch Alpha - Mighty Bow Jewel 2
Zorah Hide Beta - Refresh Jewel 2
Kaiser Vambraces Beta - Refresh Jewel 2
Zorah Spine Beta - Refresh Jewel 2
Zorah Spurs Beta - Blast Jewel 1
Fitness Charm
Throw on the apocarthy mantle and and the blast coating and you can get 3-4 blasts of before you run out then sleep or paralysis and plant bombs that will also be boosted and you still have some poison left over.
Gunlance is definitely NOT a turtle weapon lol
Its one of the highest DPS weapons in the game when used properly.
I'd say neither are a turtle weapon. I'm down there jabbing monsters constantly with the lance while everyone else runs away. And while everyone jogs over to the monster I'm charging with the lance and mounting it. Gunlance feels a lot slower to me, but the smash-full burst-wide sweep-fast reload and repeat combo is amazing. My problem is I currently don't have a Rarity 8 in either weapon to use a hero stone on.
People calling them turtle weapons probably have never played either.
Fight me.
Scout them, run away until the game tells you otherwise.I'm having a hard time with a story quest.
I have to discover all the monsters in the everstream before finding Negigante.
Do I have to kill them too to count as discovering th because I just don't have the resources for what keeps turning into a 2 hour expedition? So I return from expedition and seemingly have to repeat it all over again...
I assume I'm supposed to just see a monster then run away but it's a vague description so have no idea. Thanks
Well, I wouldn't really consider either a defensive weapon. Nothing like countering straight into a tail cut.
With both you stay in their face and stab, never leaving them. Though, I haven't tried too much of the GL but that weapon sharpness killed a lot of my up time.
Its cake once you get some Handicraft + Grinder gems. Infinite uptime pretty much.
Yeah, you lost them.I can already guess the answer, but I'll ask anyway: If you want to switch your streamstone augments, do you lose the resources you spent on the ones you're swapping out?
Because I think I might have just wasted 2 Lance warrior stones on the attack boost when Regen fits my build much better.
Yeah, highest raw damage in the game. You just need to deal with the -30% affinity. Is the diablos bow line a good tree to go down? Quite a lot of recommendations for the cera coilbender.
The fight takes a while but it's not hard, solo or multi.

thing about monsters that moves alot and weap that does sm dmg but fast atk motion is that you dont get alot of uptime for the amount of time its actually standing still for you to hit. which makes certain weap that just need 1 short moment to deal 1 yuuuge blow more advantageous ( ie. GS).
buy yea, any wrap that does mote dmg per hit and only need 1 short moment to do so is quite nice.
