Wow! need to try this out, only played the conquest mode so far... Also how did either of you have any pitchers by that point
Each on our last. Jack Morris pitched 10 innings of relief for me and was on fumes. Luckily, also got his first mission out the way for the Morris program heh.
The whole "preorder and play it a few days earlier" is an incredible idea. Like a small BETA to test the servers. So yes, online has been super smooth so far :)
I am so livid, beyond pissed, over how SDS has screwed over long time RttS characters.
I have a first baseman who is basically a baseball God. I made him that way over YEARS of RttS and using him exclusively as my only character. Currently, he is in year 2020 and in 2019, he hit over .500 and crushed over 100 home runs. He was basically maxed out, 99 overall, through years of progression, preordered stubs and some occasional small purchases of stubs.
I loaded him up into this year's game and was immediately asked what type of player I wanted to be. After that, it brought me to my overall rating...A FREAKING 51. It took every single attribute and completely reset them.
I don't play this game for competition. I play it just to relax and daydream what I could've been if I had worked harder when I was a kid playing ball. Granted, I didn't read any previews of the game this year so if it was reported that this would happen, I guess that's on me. However, now I have to go but another copy of '17 just to have my character back again.

Wow, please tell me the final score wasnt 1-0 haha. I played a ranked seasons game yesterday that was 0-0 headed into the 13th. I know that is only half of your game duration lol, but it was pretty intense once we started running out of pitchers/bench players.
It was 1-0. Had guys 1st and 3rd with 2 outs and Joe Torre had a bloop single drop into right to score.
Credit to my opponent though. Did everything right, pitched well, worked counts and was a good sport even though I got the final lucky bounce. Game took almost 2 hours.
Glad to hear your opponent was a good sport about it. Losing after that many innings is heartbreaking, but relieving at the same time since you can move on.
Annoyed that the bug with glasses is still in this year's game. Even if you have them set to always be on, the parts of the RttS menus where they show your player model outside of player creator/edit stuff does not have them on.
This is torture. I had a 14 inning game when they're supposed to be 3. Luckily I won with a walk off dong w/ Travis Shaw.
Can anyone not hit with the throwback Mike Piazza card? I'm like 0-23 with him.

Which is funny because Everytime he is at the plate they talk about how good of contact waiting he has.
He has been my worst hitter out of the legend bunch so far. I have scored one double with him so far. It was funny though because the double was almost a home run and I was praying it would not be a home run as it got to the warning track (clipped the high wall in deep center to the right at twins stadium)
Just finished a 19 inning Conquest game where both of us were down to our last pitchers for about 5-6 innings. My Piazza got a hit in his only at-bat, so I haven't had trouble with him.
Nothing inconsistent about that . Baseball isn't a real sport, that doesn't mean it can't translate into a fun videogame and RTTS is a great way to fill some downtime.
Are there still sliders in rtts mode? Some myplayer modes don't have them. I know mlb has in the past buy want to know for sure before buying it
A few vids I made while playing. Great looking game 4k HDR is beautiful and smooth 60fps not like last years choppy mess. The commentary in Franchise is the best I have ever heard.

Even though my XBR on game mode is about 31ms, it's just too much. It also doesn't help that I played so much of MLB 17 on my gaming monitor. I can't compensate for the difference I'm so used to my monitors low lag.

4k maintains 60 fps?? (at least on pitcher vs hitter camera). I have it set to 1440p now because I remember 4k last year was dropping frames left and right.
Been pretty damn smooth for me, last year was noticeable, I'm getting a very smooth experience.
First time that I decided to really play diamond dynasty. I purchased 100 packs + 25 packs from preorder. I got a total of 7 gold players and sold Cody Bellinger since he going for a decent amount. My loyalty reward got me Gary Sanchez so I was pretty hyped about that.
Had my first weird online glitch. Battle Royale, at 3 wins and 1 loss, up 1-0 I hit the menu to warm up a rp, hit circle back into the game and was on the screen to choose my pitch and it wouldn't do anything. Waited a few minutes pressing everything then messaged the person I was playing and sent them a screenshot (also left the game so they wouldn't get a loss).

I had to update my privacy settings randomly last night, too. Weird.
I haven't got anything other than bronze (or worse) with any of my packs so far (30'ish). I feel my luck was way better last year.
Damn you are going all out! How many programs have you satisfied now ?
Does anyone have any hitting tips? I'm rusty as hell having not played since 2008 version. I feel like I'm swinging at everything.
Beginner/Dynamic difficulty! :)
Seriously though, I haven't played in nearly the same amount of time and that's what I'm doing so far. That and sitting the PCI in a hot zone on early or favorable counts, and taking anything else. Haven't bothered with power or contact swings much, or guessing pitches often yet either.
I'm also completely bewildered by Diamond Dynasty.
I'm pretty sure they're in. I looked at the options and saw sliders, haven't looked at the extent of them.
Also loving the improvements so far, skipped 2017, so it's a nice jump from 2016.
I'm a little disappointed in performance though. Running on an og ps4 and there are times it chugs or stutters after a hit or when changing scenes. Pretty distracting.

I've never played it and had the show for years. Is it basically like a fantasy draft with cards and you play a season with? Can you get new players in any ways other than just buying packs?
I got a Konerko from a pre order pack that seems pretty expensive on the market. Debating selling as I have no idea what it is.

I haven't quite pulled the trigger on this yet but Best Buy seemingly has the game for purchase and in-store pickup right now for those who were trying to pick up a copy before the official release on Tuesday or didn't want it digitally.
Yeah I was surprised when I got my store pickup email Friday.
