I'm just one trophy away from the platinum, which i'm hoping will give me some closure as i've been unable to put the game down and I need to get on with a few things in the real world.

I loved the fishing challenges, they were a welcome change of pace from the rest of the game.

I still hate arcade - if you play multiplayer, stick to the Ubi maps. Also, I kept experiencing a bug where the names/colours disappeared from everyone, making it impossible to tell who was/wasn't on my team.

Definitely the best FC since 3, but 3 remains my favourite.

Wait a second, did the Sheriff just yell "Give him the adrenaline!"?
(I play female 'Rook')

Sloppy, Ubi, sloppy!

I think the platinum will never happen for me. Can't stomach playing anymore of that arcade trash.

Winning 10 featured maps...

God damn planes are annoying in this, especially when doing side quests eg did the mission where you have to capture a live wolf for the scientist woman - managed to eventually coax the damn thing in the cage, killed the rest of the loose wolves, then the final part of the mission involves talking to said scientists lady - just then a plane decides to buzz overhead and I can't talk to her to complete the mission as she is taking pot shots at it with her gun!

F'sake!

Yup, I was finally starting to enjoy the game since I started skipping the awful awful cutscenes. But now I can never get info from civilians I save because planes nonstop.

Sending it back to gamefly, first Far Cry game I didn't beat.

The soundtrack and the confidence of the world design really elevate this above 3 and 4 for me, both of which bored me after a few hours.

There isn't that much else that's been heavily evolved or changed. It's such a thin line whether an Ubisoft game grabs me or not, this one definitely did, i've beaten it already which has sucked away a full weekend of my life... Good fun though.

I realise "Rook" is short for "Rookie", but wasn't FC3 located on the Rook Islands?

Weird callback there.

Aaaaaaaaaaah, those plane battles.

I almost had this bastard. Suddenly the game started all over again because we were out of the zone. It respawned me on the ground, while the enemy is still up in the air.

What is this buuuuuuuuullshit.

I got so lucky with the plane boss fight - I had a midair collision that took him out but I survived. I then gunned him down as he was parachuting to safety.

I cheated John's boss fight. I flied straight into him. It killed me, but once I load back game John was already on the ground. So I just killed in his getaway car. Easy peasy.

Pets should definitely be able to get in vehicles, just like Chop in GTA V. I want to look over and see Cheeseburger wearing a seatbelt.

It's a shame that John is the "first" villain as he's by far the most generic of the group and his monologues just make you want to to press skip. His region has the best side characters like Mary May and Pastor Jerome, though.

I really did not see that nuke/end of the world part coming.

Also, after having watched the other two endings on youtube, I find it funny that the only 'good' ending is the secret one where you walk away at the very start. Everything else just goes to shit.

Is their a button you have to press when doing death from above? I just got the takedown perk
You should just be able to jump on top of them but it's a little wonky and less generous than the past games have been with it.

The screen also has a message when it's a really good time to do it but not always where it instructs you to jump down on top of someone. I've taken to doing running jumps onto people when they are a level or so below me but not far enough down that I would take fall damage otherwise

I have a couple of questions about the mission structure:

It seems the game locked me out of some story missions, so I should do those first in the next two areas, right?

Now I have everything to go and fight... John?... Joseph? anyway, it seems I have quite a few missions left to do, like 20, but there are no NPCs spawning with more missions for the current area, is this a bug or should I go fight the boss to get them to spawn?
John is the first boss.

You should have missions still if that's the case. Drive around rescuing people out the back of fans, blowing up silos and delivering tankers.

On a side note.....these have been my favorite villian in a long time (Joseph and John) haven't met Jacob or Faith yet though

Just say YES

There should really be a perk that benefits you to not take companions
There should be an option to mute the sniper girl (think her name is Gracy, Tracy, or Nancy) she is a buzz kill to be around but her sniping skills are fun to abuse on VIP cult members but damn she goes down easily.

Love Boomer but I have this thing where I can't let dogs die so I hardly bring him out. I'm always petting him. If he gets shot at I throw myself in front of the bullets. Unhealthy.

But yeah Nick in the air and Tracy on the ground is a great combo.

For John in the plane, just call in Nick Rye once you're near John's plane and together the two of you will do more damage to his plane thus ending it pretty quick.

Well world gets nuked either way, so neither ending is really "good". But true people of Hope County won't battling for their lives against the cult, if you just turn around at the beginning.

I love how people have success with different characters. For me, (except against John's plane), Nick was no help. Everytime he took off, his plane would get shot quickly.

So I basically got his challenge points completed for the perks and didn't use his much but the animals and the stealth gunners were awesome.

For anyone having issues with John and the dogfight, I'd recommend changing the Airplane controls to classic. As soon as I did that, I killed him on my first try.

Yeah, thanks, but the game says I have 31 of 52 missions completed and can't find more to do.

Also, I had some story missions that dissapeared ad soon as I got enough resistance to fight the boss of the area.

That's weird. It didn't happen to me. Have you tried reloading the game? Once you activate story missions they hange from the banner icon to a white blip on the map. Are they gone from your Journal? Maybe they appear under completed? I haven't seen a failed completion state.

I notice quite a few people here seem to have complained about story mission completion glitches. I actually have a weird bug myself too, one of the gun for hire missions says it's incomplete, even though I completed it ages ago. I even have the guy as a gun for hire but it won't disappear from the map. Pretty annoying. I guess that might prevent me from getting all of the trophies. Not a big deal for progression though, thankfully.

I seem to remember the game showing me how many prepper stashes id done in in area and how many were left.
can't find it at all now or am I imagining it, I know the map shows missions cult properties destroyed etc when you zoom out, sure there was more stats somewhere.

So I just resumed playing FC3 last week and I've been enjoying it. Had it for years.

Should I stop playing 3 and get 5, or stick with 3 and get 5 later?
