Finally finished step 2 today, immediately switched to magikarp as a buddy instead of Beldum. Quickly did two raids, my first Lugia raids of this release, and my two gym battles so I'm on step 4 now. Not bad for 20 minutes of playing today. Going to do step 4 tomorrow night
Do you just fail to win and trigger it over and over?

Good idea, I will do it on a 1 star raid and just dodge all the time, I assume you don't waste your raid pass if you fail?
Lugia goes away today, right? I'm surprised they haven't announced the new Legendary yet. I'm hoping they add some new boxes to the shop with Raid Passes. My stash is getting low.
I get it randomly, every once in a while it'll flash "Found a candy" twice, but it's not very common for me.
You don't even have to do that; when the battle starts, tap the Run icon then just sit in the rejoin lobby until the timer expires. It's still best to use a low level raid as they have shorter timers.
And yes, a Raid pass is good for the entirety of the particular raid you're running. You have unlimited retries until the timer runs out.
Latios and Latias confirmed. We'll get Latios in NA until May 8 and then they'll switch.

Bring back Porygon! Also, now 200k away from lv 40... This is going to be tight. 4 weeks exactly till Disney. And the week before, will be very light, since will be in Miami, however, since new city, will be getting new pokestop xp, so that make it little harder.
Just give in and hit 40 before then. You'll really have to go easy to last 4 weeks, especially with new raid bosses, extra xp from research, and new stops.
Yeah, I agree. The opportunity cost for keeping activity to a minimum at this point is so heavy I don't know why you would even consider it.
yes, when they introduced Shiny Magikarp, a couple people had Shinys replaced by Ditto, and very quickly after that Magikarp stopped yielding ditto.
Had a stroke of luck yesterday, was just walking around and a shiny Swablu popped for me. Two hours later, a shiny Aron popped.
Gonna try to finish getting 8 more Ghost types and a Ditto today. Hopefully I can find them. I only have 200 or so Magikarp candy at the moment so that'll hinder my for awhile, but I'll get it within a week or two. Getting a Excellent curve might be the hardest thing for me. I've never done that and I'm a straight thrower.

Yep, I've had one saved for a few days ready to go. I'm assuming they'll roll them out at 4 pm EST like usual.

I won't be chasing any shinies after this Lugia situation.
Didn't get shiny Lugia after 23 encounters, and I know a few players who didn't get it until over 40. I can't play that much.
I'm back to my casual pace now. I'll quit Legendary raiding after just a few Latios. I already have lots of strong Dragon attackers.

I bet we'll see some overlap with previous legendaries during this time. Like the last week of Latios will also have Ho-oh or something.
The "catch 3 Bug Pokemon" has to be the lamest task. The reward is 5 Pokeballs, but is a net gain of 2 or fewer balls, depending on how many throws it takes you to get the damn bugs.
I haven't confirmed it yet, but my raid group says one hatching in 2 minutes will be a Latios. I believe any eggs hatching now will be Latios.

Most quests offer different rewards. I've seen the same bug one for catch 3 and gave me a pokemon or different item.
The catch Dragon Pokemon has these reward options: 3000 Stardust / 10 Ultra Balls / 2 Golden Razzberries / 2-3 Rare Candies / Dratini encounter
The 2 Golden Razzberries def lame for that one. 3000 stardust (4500 with starpiece) is awesome!
Yep same here I'm done with shiny legendaries, I went 0/44. I'll still hit Latios when I have time since the required trainer amount is pretty low.
That's where I'm at. I'll still get a handful of Latios but if it comes down to using my free pass and I want a Gengar, I'll do it rather than just pumping them all into Latios.
Niantic needs to delete some of these useless quests that only grant you one measly berry, what's the point of that
Did they lower the chance of quests? I swiped a bunch of stops and gyms today, but got one single quest, AND it was the worst one I've seen yet -- fight in 5 gyms to get 10 bananas. Bananas remain the single worst item in the game for me. Since you can't combine berries, in virtually any case I might want to use a berry, I would want to use one of the other two.
If your inventory is full you won't get any quests. Also if you've already done the quest that stop gives in a day you won't get it again.
I think I completed one quest today so that might have accounted for one of the stops. I only had one quest in my inventory so that might have accounted for another one.
Do gym pokestops give you quests too? There were still other stop(s) I would have hoped for a quest from, but it doesn't seem like you get one every time.
