I hadn't responded to this yesterday, sorry for the delay. Its based on gut feeling around the two posts at the time. Apollo (along with the other two) seems focused on play as opposed to mechanics which is more of a town read.I didn't notice this earlier but you're leaning town on Apollo when they only have two posts? Just because they dismissed mechanics talk for today?
Sexy Fish and Royal are definitely on my radar. Neither seem to care much in discussing, and Royal comment on Fish's OMGUS vote is something to keep in mind, like Grizzly pointed out.
This is a bit of a downer. We agree that his actions were weird, but we arrive at completely opposite conclusions, haha.I do town read nin at the moment. His soaring defence for Geno was weird, as was his justification for it. But at the same time, nin is always bit of a wild-card as a player. He doesn't always do the most rational actions even as town. In general I get the vibe from his posts that he wants to hunt scum and solve the game - something that is a town read for me at this early stage of the game, so I wouldn't want to lynch him.
I expect more of him, to be honest. If he's town, he could end up being a huge help. Right now he's reminding me of myself during Buffy D1, when I was scum for the first time, though - a bit hesitant to post, jumping only at safe comments, and trying to find something to latch onto. I've made note of his vote against Zipped as the weakest one in the game so far (there were prodding votes from myself and others, but no one else actually tried to make them seem like more than mere prodding votes). Leaning scum.Brazil what are your thoughts on Apollo? He is on top of my scum reads now.
Please talk more about this line of thought, Royal. What does the fact that people didn't jump on that OMGUS vote tell you?Nobody made the overly easy Fish vote based on his omgus-vote and questionable statement about mechanics discussion yet? Interesting. I expected half the game to jump onto that. Fwiw, I think it doesn't sound like nervous Scum. Pretty NAI.
I feel good about Zipped so far. No strong Scum reads yet.
Most of the suspicion on Kyan is largely due to their writing style which isn't a great reason to vote for someone. If people had actual reasons for voting then I'd be fine with it but right now none really exist.

I'll have to catch up on any other of Apollo's posts of course.
Well, a mixture of several things. First, we, as a community, finally seem to be on a way to leave the "ha, he/she made a bad play, they must be Scum" meta behind. Second, Scum are aware enough of that that they are not jumping onto SexyFish. Alternatively SexyFish is Scum and that's why Scum didn't jump on him. But as I said, I'm pretty null on him. I mainly wanted to note the observation that the post got ignored, while I expected at least two people (not two specific people just statistically two players) to make the easy vote. Either Scum or lazy Town. Didn't happen unfortunately. Maybe it would have helped to say nothing and keep the post open as bait, but meh...Please talk more about this line of thought, Royal. What does the fact that people didn't jump on that OMGUS vote tell you?
My opinion is that D1 in general is the worst and it's compeltely beyond me how anybody can have a solid Scumread at this point in time. As usual, I have a couple of "Lean Town" reads, most notablyApollo Sexy Fish Royal_Flush
I'd really like to hear more from all 3 of you before the day ends. What's your opinion on everything that's going on? Do you have any reads? Are you leaning towards anyone today?
I'm not wanting impressions of me, I want impressions on me ;)Difficult to leave an impression of you, Royal, when, at the time, you were at two posts. :p
One of which was you voicing your disappointment regarding the moderator not answering your questions, so...
I'm not wanting impressions of me, I want impressions on me ;)
If that's not a language barrier issue... If it is, lat me rephrase that. I don't care what or how much you write about me, the issue is that when I think about you, I don't hink "oh, she did/said x this game"
Earnest is a good word I think. nin was the last player to post in the thread and did so without much of a catch up, posting while "thinking out loud" as he called it. Don't think scum would be that care free after coming in late like that. The slip you mention seems to be just that. This is a bit of a downer. We agree that his actions were weird, but we arrive at completely opposite conclusions, haha.
Yesterday, when all nin had done was defend Geno, Fandorin mentioned town-reading him because he "felt sincere". Today, most of nin's posts were in an exchange with DCPat about Kyan - which, to me, felt like a forced follow-up of his defense of Geno. I agree that nin's posting style always makes him seem really earnest, but beyond that I don't see what you guys are seeing when you say you town-read him.
The problem with 'kyan being kyan' is also that he wasn't doing that until he came under scrutiny. His first two posts were very much normal. To make it clear, I find everyone who makes comments like 'kyan being kyan' a lazy player. That includes like you DCPat already pointed out, other players like Brazil. No need to be that thin skinned though. I pointed it out and did not even put a vote down since it's something lazy not scummy
Apollo Sexy Fish Royal_Flush
I'd really like to hear more from all 3 of you before the day ends. What's your opinion on everything that's going on? Do you have any reads? Are you leaning towards anyone today?
I'm leaning heavily towards that Brazil is town.
Brazil's tried to poke at Sexy Fish to get him to talk more and while we've not had much from Sexy Fish outside of him voting Brazil, trying to get others to talk and be involved in the game by voting for them like that seems to me like a very townstyle play though that isn't to say a scum couldn't do the same thing but I don't feel like Brazil has said anything to make me feel like he is scum at the moment.
I also am townreading you at the moment. So far, you've helped to add to the overall discussions and I feel like you just want the quieter townies to open up more so that we have more opinions on the current state of affairs.
Someone I'm uncertain of either way is Sexy Fish, I feel like we need to hear more from them.
The problem with 'kyan being kyan' is also that he wasn't doing that until he came under scrutiny. His first two posts were very much normal.
His weak vote on zipped, then retracting it, and then just fading into obscurity feels like a very solid case of a scum trying to seem helpful, yet not actually contributing to the game at all, and blending in with inactivity after.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this sums up to: "Yeah, I'm shitposting".
It looks to me like you are very much entertained by the reactions people are having from your posts. Was not doing that for a whole of five minutes. What a odd thing to be concerned about! Yet I apologize, comrade. My eagerness to pursue the cause of the revolution was too much me and this comrade forgot his pitchfork in the stables when he heard the call of the proletariat.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're saying that Geno would have nowhere to go if you yielded to him?I sought to see if comrade Geno was a man of his word! In addition, I wondered about the possibility where this comrade was to survive beyond the dawn of the revolution? Would comrade Geno still pursue my demise? "Steps too far, comrade!", I yelled at my own foolishness. What happens if the mob does not give me the kiss of death today? Where oh where shall comrade Geno go then? Has comrade Geno sought out the bourgeoisie in name only?
While the comrades seem not to have forgotten their sense of humor in the chaos of the revolution, let me also point out a secondary meaning in that comment of mine. I sought to see if comrade Geno was a man of his word! In addition, I wondered about the possibility where this comrade was to survive beyond the dawn of the revolution? Would comrade Geno still pursue my demise? "Steps too far, comrade!", I yelled at my own foolishness. What happens if the mob does not give me the kiss of death today? Read this comrade shall!
Shots fired. I think it's decently entertaining :)Has anyone ever told you that you're annoying? Seriously, we're playing Mafia, not writing awful fanfiction that tries to ape the worst qualities of Blargonaut with none of the charm.
My vote wasn't meant to be a full on scumread vote- it was to force out info on what I perceived to be a hint towards his role in his opening post. Call it weak if you want but I got what I wanted out of it and determined it was innocent. I'm not actively trying to blend into activity either, I just have trouble without something juicy to latch on to, which makes me a frequently poor D1 player- luckily there are some interesting things that have occurred here since my last post. All I can offer here is my apologies.
Why were you trying to get information on their role based on a potential hint? If it was a hint then surely it would be better for you to say nothing as it could have drawn attention to a town power role.
I will not object a Sexy Fish vote, since he's been very inactive. Stuart on the other hand falls under newbie protection. Most of them look scummy to Town in their first game because they didn't adjust yet. I don't have a definitive opinion there yet, but I would suggest waiting that one out for another day or two.Going into the final hours today, I'd be interested in trains for Stuart444 or SexyFish today. Both of these players have acted very defensively to even a single vote applied their way.
Sexy Fish was pressured with a vote by Brazil, appeared to counter-vote Brazil as a OMG reaction (is that what an OMGUS is?) and then has done nothing since. The lack of activity but instantly appearing when voted for only to disappear again when the pressure dissipates rubs me the wrong way. I do not think SexyFish is actively trying to find scum or win the game if he is town. He seems mostly concerned with playing defensively.
Stuart444 I've made no secret of not liking how defensive their reaction was to my vote and push. They've been moderately more active than SexyFish, but I haven't seen them challenge anyone unless they're challenge back to a challenge tossed their way.
For now, I'm leaving my vote on Sexy Fish.

As for Kyanrute, while his roleplaying is interesting, he seems mostly playing reactionary from my perspective. I know there's been a lot of focus tossed Kyan's way, but I'd like to see kyan ask others questions and such, give reads, discussion other players, instead of simply discussing himself.

A follower of comrade Geno's? Or an alternative attempt to catalyze a change? We shall see.

I'm assuming this post is in reply to Fandorin, but that wasn't explicitly clear reading through the thread.
Are you town reading or leaning town on Grizzly and/or Sophia as well?

Sorry all, been busy unexpectedly.Well now that Royal has posted and given us his thoughts

What do you think so far? Need to hear more from you before the day ends.
Yeah, that was a response to Fandorin and I should have made that a lot clearer in that post. I'll make sure to not make that mistake again.
In regards to Grizzly, I am certainly reading him as town right now, nothing he said so far comes off as scumlike to me.
As for Sophia, I am leaning town but I will do a re-read on her posts to see if there is anything I've missed.

I'm still trying to wrap up my head with the information on the D1 post, but I think it's good to have a vote on someone at all times.

How is Kyan? Is Kyan scum :3?
The unvote was due to Kyan appearing, since the vote was a poke vote. I didn't re-vote at that point because I had a talking point of Kyan in my mind more. But you're right, I should have re-voted, which I'll do now.
VOTE: Sophia
How are you? Are you scum :-)?
I'd suggest others to put their initial vote too.
Sorry all, been busy unexpectedly.
I'm not familiar with Kyan's playstyle but I would describe it as eccentric, some scum feelings, but I can't help think he wouldn't be this extra if he was scum.
Grizzly and SweetNicole are the only two I feel lean town at the moment. I need to further read but for now my vote will change.
I'll go with my gut.
VOTE Kyanrute
Part of me wonders if you're calling me very inactive (which is true at that point) to throw votes my way when beforehand we both had the same activity level.
