Ever since DBZ was released, chat on streams has gotten absurdly cancerous when MVCI is on.

I feel like people who don't ever play DBZF just bring it up to stir shit. FGC does love drama after all.

That was... a weird turn of events these page. Hopefully Max ends up alright.

What is worse about LTG?

Without going down the LTG rabbit hole just... listen to his thoughts on black culture, and between that and Brolylegs, I think you'd have enough to go on to make an informed decision.

He threw the FGC under the bus pretty emphatically on NeoGAF and then came to us, hat in hand, to help him promote his youtube channel once Capcom commissioned him for the Assist Me series. Admittedly, he's done more harm than good for the community since then, and he's not a bad guy, but I find it hard to let that go.

I don't hate him at all. I just call a spade a spade.

I know you're banned and not here to defend yourself but this is the hottest take I've ever read about Max's contributions to the fgc.

You could have at least elaborated on this insane post before getting banned.

It's just trash in general. In NCR every time SF was on it was just people shitting on Dragon Ball, for some reason.

I'm usually into twitch chat spamming shit, but lately it's just insufferable.

I don't even like any of the three games myself, but even I find it a pain in the ass. Ultra SF IV was on, a game I actually enjoy and would love to discuss, taking advantage of the much lower amount of people watching than the main games, but it was just kids shitting on SF V instead of talking about the game they like.

I don't even watch Marvel at all, but I can imagine it would be even worse, since it probably gets hate from both Dragon Ball and SF players.

Maybe I was just lucky with the events I watched, but Tekken seems to be generally really good both in commentary and chat. It's a game I couldn't really see myself playing at all before, but I'm warming up to it thanks to how fun it is to watch streams.

It was happening during Tekken, that was when spooky got pissed and turned sub mode on.

That sucks. I actually didn't watch Tekken during NCR, so I suppose I did get lucky with the Tekken stuff I watched.
The saddest part is that the Tekken top 8 was incredibly fun to spectate. As high-level as it can possibly get with such amazing displays of Yomi and conditioning.

And there was some good character variety too! I really dont understand this concept of liking your own game and then proving it by shitting on others.

Not gonna lie, I dislike playing Tekken and find it pretty boring to watch, but ended up seeing the GF and it was nuts, really glad I watched it!
Highly recommended for those who missed it.

Making threats over a hard, introspective look on what went wrong with one's favorite series is beyond sickening. Those types of people need to have the book thrown at them.

People shitting on every game preceding MVC3 in chat years ago must also have been DBFZ fault, huh ?

Ugh these past few pages. My sympathy goes out to Max over the ridiculousness of being threatened for a very fair opinion of MVCI.
Max was one of the few people whose opinion was not being either shill for it or rage culture against it. He honestly called out the shit that was wrong with it but did not deny unfairly anything in it that was good.

The gameplay in MVCI is really fun. I've agreed with that from the get go and you can check that here or at the old site if you want to prove it. Did I move on to greener pastures? Yup. DBFZ killed it for me even though I adore me some Winter Soldier shenanigans. The roster, graphics, and animations are whack. The advertising and story mode were just mediocre at best. Some of the early balance issues were nuts but its patches helped it quite a bit. Its super fun, but its just stale around so much of the game being recycled that its hard for many to care. Receiving death threats for that opinion is nuts because its the only honest one I've really seen. Hats off to Max for actually doing his best by the game and not getting swept up in rage culture or shilling and just being fair to both the truth of it being a polarizingly mixed bag of good and bad things.

Not gonna lie even if we want to keep thuggery in I don't know why it would prevent them to ban bitches in chat dragging down the fun of everyone. Kappa mentality needs to fuck off, I can't think of a single instance where it's fun for anybody involved except stream monsters.

A bit off-topic but is there a way to play the arcade version of Hokuto no Ken through emulation ? Didn't get any good results on search engines.

I just wanted to share this:

My island has no FGC. Well, at least no local events, no place to play people except for the usual online and your circle of friends. For over 20 years, I've longed for my place to have what I always watched on the internet. Recently, I transferred to another section at work and have a bit more free time after work so I decided to make it happen. Bought a few extra consoles and games, and booked a venue. Made flyers, Facebook event, and made a cool promo video advertising the event.

It was a great success. I had about fifty people show up. Many never played fighters and always wanted to learn, some hadn't played since the SF2 days, and some were just happy that someone started this. It was really a great thing that my local community needed. SFV and Dragon Ball were the most popular. Hoping to be able to do events at least once or twice a month for now and if it does indeed grow, I can do it more frequently. My dream is that it evolves into a regular weekly thing someday. Big Island's FGC has now begun.

Fifty people is pretty good for the first time o:

Yeah, there were some people that came just to watch and not play, but overall it was a great turnout. The venue was stoked since they are usually dead that night of the week and they were pumping out food and drinks. Getting a lot of emails and people asking on social media when the next one is.

That's great, it's hard to pull something like that off. Congrats

The shit did I just start watching?
Apparently in 1992 korea did a street fighter animated film. This thing looks bonkers, is recorded abandoned stuff from some dudes vhs archive and on youtube now.
Best Ken and Ryu ever. I think I spotted Dr. Wily at one point. Can we have these as alt outfits next season?

Rumor goin around that "CYS" being a thing in the SNK Heroines trailer was something they went out of their way to highlight because it is actually a clue about potential dlc for "Chris, Yashiro, Shermie" to appear in KOF 14 later on for a Team Orochi return.
Fingers crossed. Here's hoping DLC continues to sell well on KOF14 so that this can happen. Chris was my OG KOF main back in the day.

KOF XIV will have 70 characters if they keep this up.

Please keep this up.
