Is this Firmware fixable?
Thanks, i think i'll avoid that tv thenBeing IPS is it's biggest issue, and with edge lit lighting, makes for very poor contrast and HDR, maybe look at the Samsung MU range, refurb MU7000 possibly.
Rtings LG C8 review is up.

Looks good, though (a little) higher input lag in HDR Game Mode is a bit of a bummer, since they've kept the lag the same across all resolutions on the previous models.
C8 sounds dope to me. Much improved panel uniformity, brightness, and active hdr in game mode. I'm going end up like one of those guys on AVSforum that buys a new OLED every year.
Rtings buys their own sets. Also, a lot of folks on AVS that bought their own confirmed the same.
Yeah it's tempting but I'm holding strong for 2020 when the PS5 is out. That's when I upgrade my TV.C8 sounds dope to me. Much improved panel uniformity, brightness, and active hdr in game mode. I'm going end up like one of those guys on AVSforum that buys a new OLED every year.
What's the use case for needing 3.0 in a TV right now? I noticed that too, but when thinking about what I would use it for I drew a blank.
Devices that are USB powered, so you don't need a plug socket! I power my Super Nt through the 3.0 port, 2.0 can't supply enough juice.
Same. Just missing HDMI2.1. Then I'll hold onto that until mLED takes off.

I have the Vizio M series 2016. Would the C8 be a huge upgrade?
If PS5 is a 2020 launch then I'll probably get a C10 actually. Wonder when mLED will hit the market at a premium yet doable price.
Yeah I figured. I'm a bit peeved that new flagships don't come in 60". I wouldn't mind something SLIGHTLY larger than my 55", but 65" seems too large for the space.

I wish they detailed the difference between the b8 and c8, since the new processor seems like it would improve things over the b7/c7. I know the b8 isn't available yet but this review didn't even mention it?Rtings LG C8 review is up.

I'm also confused - why does the "Compared to other TVs" section claim that the c7 was last year's entry model? Wouldn't that be the b7, which is pretty much identical to the c7 minus Atmos support?
How far back do you sit.Yeah I figured. I'm a bit peeved that new flagships don't come in 60". I wouldn't mind something SLIGHTLY larger than my 55", but 65" seems too large for the space.
Good point. So I guess the c8 vs. the c7 will effectively be the same as c8 vs. b8?I think they'll review the B8, which is probably why they didn't mention it. Also, the B7/C7 were effectively the same set where it matters (same panel, processor, etc) so calling either the entry level is fine.
Oh man, so I came home to a terrible surprise. I did the pixel refresher while in break from work and when I come back, I noticed on some screens I have some pretty clear cut image retention. It's mostly in light gray colors and I can the recents menu from LG on there with the white Netflix app burned in. It's basically the white square that pops up and now I can notice It whenever there's gray on the screen. I had pixel shift on so I dont know how this happened, but that recents menu is the most frequent thing on the panel, even if It is only for a couple of seconds. Should I keep doing pixel refresh or call LG to see if the warranty covers It? I also have warranty for 3 years from Best Buy. What a freaking bummer man :(
I would wait until Best Buy runs out of stock on the 7 series and then try to cash in my warranty for an 8.
Not seeing where all the reports are for c8 good uniformity. Not enough data to claim this as there are also people posting in the avs uniformity thread who have the same vertical banding issues.

I'd say it's improved in the sense that there wasn't a single 2017 panel manufactured without issues. 2018 is just back to good old panel lottery.
It's just you.damn, i got the C7 a few weeks ago and now i am kinda regreting it, not because the C8 but people seems to be not happy with OLED or is it just me imagining things?

I went from a 60" to a 65" and the difference was noticeable, but not striking. When I went from 50" to 60", it was a *big* deal.Yeah I figured. I'm a bit peeved that new flagships don't come in 60". I wouldn't mind something SLIGHTLY larger than my 55", but 65" seems too large for the space.

Don't think you can get better TV even if you paid more, 2018 models are better but 2017 is still top tier.damn, i got the C7 a few weeks ago and now i am kinda regreting it, not because the C8 but people seems to be not happy with OLED or is it just me imagining things?
