Is there any way to dim the light on the console itself? I do not know if it is because the console is black again (my S was white) or it is just brighter, but the White XBox light on the front of the console seems much brighter than before.

This thread is not helping the fact that my Amazon shipment was delayed. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel true power with the most powerful videogame console in the world when it's not here!
are you using the same hdmi port? on some of those sony tvs, i've seen people say they had to reboot the tv after turning on enhanced mode for it to start working on 4k capabale devices.
Ok seriously how does Gears 3 look this good!? It honestly looks like a modern game. I'm stunned.
Same port, swapped cables, rebooted TV. Nothing.
S still works perfect. X isn't working at all.
Support is run by idiots. Says they can't troubleshoot the TV so I'm fucked.

Same thing happened to me when I bought an XB1S took me an hour to figure out it wasn't my TV or the console but the cable in my AV setup just did not play nice.
I tried the S cable and the X cable. The S works fine on BOTH. 4K HDR perfectly.
The X won't even let me check the 4K box in Advanced Video Settings.
Pretty envious of all of you rocking the OneX with a 4K tv. I'd love to get a Pro system but our 1080p tv isn't old enough to justify a replacement. Trying to hold out for decent OLED tv prices before upgrading!
Try using different hdmi cords, switching ports, checking your TV's menu and switching between settings for the input you're using, completely unplugging the television [and X, cause why not]...

I did all that. Again the S is still working perfectly. The X won't even detect 4K
Same thing has been happening to me on and off all night. Doesn't make sense since I'm on a hardwire 300mb connection. The download speed is extremely erratic, going from 5mb to 225mbs. My OG did not do that.
Yes, I'll play a few more games but if I hear the fan ramp up again I'm going to call it in for repair/return
If it makes you feel any better, I have a gigabit connection and my speed never goes above 90mb.
Just finished setting it up and now waiting for the update to apply. I can barely tell it's on... thing is super quiet so far.
Initial reaction when taking it out of box was how neat everything was inside and how heavy this thing is. This is a very nicely built piece of tech. Coming from an OG Xbox one I was really surprised at how small it is.

It recognized my external for my restore from backup. But now it won't recognize the same damn external that has all my games on it....

Mine was having issues; I powered it down, waited 30 seconds, then powered it up and reconnected it. Has been fine ever since.
Same here, one thing I noticed is that if a game is actively running in the background the download speed is pretty sporadic. However, if you quit the game, the downloads speeds go into turbo and the speeds are fast. Might be a bug or something, can you guys test that?
That's weird, considering the seller has Xbox one x all over the description...

Just got done trying out Gears 4, lawd have mercy...it almost feels and plays like a different game. Both visual/performance mode look absolutely beautiful on a 1080p tv. I can only imagine how this looks on a 4K set.

The HDMI cable that came with my S was also faulty.. wouldn't work if you set HDR or if you set 7.1 audio. Changed the cable and all was good.
Dumb question but do you have an external HDD or something plugged in? Try setting it up without any controllers, external HDD, etc plugged in and see if it updates. That was an odd issue with the OG Xbox too. Sounds dumb but I fixed a bad update that way with mine in past

Try ACO or Quantum Break if you haven't...both are stunning. ACO in particular feels like a totally different game that what I played on OG XB1 last night. And QB is just gorgeous
Try redoing your TV setup and make sure you're using the right hdmi cable and that your input is set correctly.
Alright, pretty good first impressions for the Xbox One X and the X1 ecosystem in general; everything went as intended but I have to reacquaint myself with the UI. It's not slow at all like people used to complainbat the old site. But it is slightly weird swapping from PSN.
The system itself is quiet except for when installing stuff. There's an ever so slightly audible whirring sound. AC Origins looks great, but it doesn't quite blow me away like Horizon Zero Dawn did. Maybe I need to get deeper in the game.

Seriously, anyone got any tips on how to resolve the washed out colours with 4K UHD Blu-Rays? Limited / PC RGB makes no difference. It's just blu-rays. Everything else looks great.
Yeah, you can tell that it won't fit by looking at the way it connects to the system. In the questions for the incorrect stand, someone even mentions that it doesn't fit the Xbox One X. It's a shame that Microsoft didn't just keep the stands the same between the two.
