Yeah I have a 10 bit panel. I guess the 12 bit is future proofing?
i don't know anything about TV sets, but 12 bit colour is... still very next level.
The console has a blaster built in and works just as good in my experience as the Kinect. Unless you need one on a cable?
I have a question for the noise OCD people like me that I would like to ask. when your Xbox one X is very close to you and you playing in a muted room ( TV is on mute, no AC or pc noise ) , do you hear the fan spinning changing every few seconds like its sort of wave up and down ? mind you its not very loud. but the fan speed in my system keep changing up and down continuously.
I noticed this while playing Gears of War in 4k.

I have only been playing Wolfenstein II so far (looks so dang good!). It yo-yos from dead silent to a decent level of sound while playing. How is the noise for other people while playing other games? Anyone else experiencing it working pretty hard with Wolfenstein?

Isn't Dolby Vision 12 bit HDR rather than 10? I'm pretty sure all the LG OLEDs this year are 12 bit. I could be wrong though.
Went to Target this morning when they opened and got one. They only had two by the looks of it. I love the way this thing looks. The only games I've played so far are Forza 7 and AC:Origins. Forza is an absolute looker. My jaw was on the floor. AC looks amazing as well. I have the game for my Pro as well and it just looks much more crisp on the X. I'm leaning towards playing all third party titles on Xbox now.
Nooo! There are plenty of sets with 12-bit colour. Any Dolby Vision equipped panel will be 12-bit, to meet the DV spec.
These are mainly the LG OLED models, which is odd, as they pumped out a lot of crappy 8-bit RGBW and FRC panels.
Dolby Vision can support it, but the TV's themselves are not 12 bit, they are 10 bit.
I just looked this up, there are no current 12 bit tv panels. Those OLED are 10 bit.
Then i suppose it sounds normal. lets hear what others will say ( even though i am very sure some here will just come and say " i cant hear anything !!" without actually proper testing ) lol
A rising tide lifts all boats. I really hope MS and Sony can learn from one another here! The X is just a fantastic piece of hardware, whisper quiet. My Pro sounds like a train pulling into station when I play Wolfenstein 2. I hope MS now looks to developing more first party because they've just aced hardware.
Anybody play Dishonored 2 on the X? Tempted to buy it. Downloaded the trial off the store and it runs like shit, but I'm guessing that's because they didn't bother patching a demo.
Gears and Halo 5 look insane. Can't wait for MCC and FH3 updates next year. Gonna have to by a HDD tho.

Hmm, yes. Seems they are using interpolation as well on the final 2 bits. Ugh.

I am currently playing on a 1080p set and I am blown away by the difference, honestly. Forza is a world away from playing it two days ago. Definitely check it out if you get a chance. This system does a lot more on a 1080 set than I would have expected. I'm really impressed.

At some point I need to remove the external for testing. I can hear something, don't think it's really any louder then my fat Xbox.
It just randomly turned itself off, with the controller light blinking. Trying to start the console with the power button just gives me a chirp and the power button flashing for a second. Then nothing. Controller won't even connect.
Did you play the Forza 7 demo? It is updated I believe for the One X.
Setting up my X and not sure what video settings to use. Should I allow YCC 4:2:2?

At first I was like "this thing is dead quiet" but then I launched insects demo and I was able to hear fan blowing air, nothing special. But when I put my head at 50cm distance I started hearing really unpleasant noise like fan is scratching something with every spin, clicking of sorts(not from hdd, I'm sure). I would like to know how doest it sound in other consoles. Do you have some other noises or is it just continuous static humm of air being blown out?
Nope. Nothing. It still chirps and lights up when I try to turn it on. It's not completely fried, it just won't turn on properly.

Honestly do not need one of these right now having a huge backlog on the other consoles and a nice PC, but the Skate 3 enhancement news has me super tempted to just pull the trigger. Skate is my most played franchise hours wise, so I am now somehow beginning to rationalize a $500 Skate 3 machine. Hoping Amped or Amped 2 get added for OG Xbox compat too.

If its a muted room and the TV is off, you might hear the fan and hdd if its downloading / installing something .
I wouldn't say it's overrun, but there is some concern. Hard to gauge how big of a problem it actually is though, considering only customers with problems are reporting it on forums.
About half of the post on the first page were about defective units when I checked. That's pretty bad.
