If Fox cancels B99, I'm pretty sure Hulu would pick it up

I doubt it - B99 would be heading into its 6th season and would be more expensive to produce than ever (unlike The Mindy Project, which was still relatively young).

Brooklyn Nine-Nine getting cancelled would be far from a tragedy, and I say that as a fan of the show. 5 seasons at 22+ episodes per season is a LOT for any TV show.

Similar to anime runs, it feels more rare for tv shows to get the full 20+ episodes a season. More and more high production shows are like, 8-16 nowadays, and that works fine. 20+ in most cases, can just drag a show too much.

Edit:
I'd be fine with every show ending after five seasons. That's plenty.

I don't disagree. If the show is well-planned, having less than 10 seasons wrap up most shows nicely. Just give it an ENDING.

Given the numbers that is has been posting, I fully expect that there will be a cancellation of Scorpion. It annoys me a bit cause this particular season finale and set up for future stories is better than the stuff they had in previous season finale cliffhangers

Definitely, but I could totally see it getting a shortened final season. A TV show with a definitive ending makes it an easier sell for viewers looking to binge watch a show. Not to mention, judging from The Office and Parks and Rec, this kind of show has a long streaming afterlife. And NBC produces the show so moving it to a Hulu exclusive would be a double benefit to them.

TBS is another possibility. They're already airing reruns and have a history of rescuing established shows to try and promote their comedy brand.

Tuesday night's ratings. I'm guessing ABC was testing out Alex, Inc. on Tuesdays instead of Wednesdays? It looks like it failed that test. Lol:

Netflix announced a bunch of new international/European series: http://deadline.com/2018/04/netflix...-german-event-series-new-projects-1202366801/
Busy Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is joining with Netflix and London- and LA-based 42 on a new series about the invention of modern football (soccer). The news emerged at Netflix's See What's Next event in Rome on Wednesday morning and was among a host of new projects announced.

Netflix VP of International Originals Erik Barmack said the football project (aka The English Game) will be penned by Fellowes and examine how the game reached across class divides to create the world's most popular sport.

Also new, German series The Wave will be based on the 2008 box office hit Die Welle. The original film was directed by Dennis Gansel and grossed about $24M locally. It centered on a high school teacher's experiment to demonstrate to his students what life is like under a dictatorship that spins horribly out of control when he forms a social unit with a life of its own. Sony Pictures Television Germany is among the producing partners.

Among other new projects is Netflix's first original from the Netherlands. Set in Amsterdam and eyed for 2019, the story focuses on Dutch students "who have it all" and "open a portal to a demonic world from the Dutch golden age," Barmack explained before adding, "I hate it when that happens." Pupkin Film is producing.

In France, Netflix is prepping Mortel, from creator Frédéric Garcia. It's the story of teenagers bound together by a supernatural force. From Italy, period series Luna Nera, about women suspected of witchcraft, will be produced with Fandango.

Barmack also said that Thomas Vincent (Marseille, The Tunnel) will direct the first two episodes of its French original, Osmosis. The sci-fi romance drama hails from the folks behind The Revenants and Versailles.

The Wave was a cool movie with a lackluster ending but it could work well in a series format.

Syfy Picks Up To Series 'Deadly Class' Drama Based On Graphic Novel From The Russo Brothers
Syfy has picked up to series Deadly Class, based on the critically acclaimed Image Comics graphic novel by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, from The Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Sony Pictures TV and Universal Cable Productions.

Adapted for television by Remender and Miles Orion Feldsott, Deadly Class is described as a coming of age journey full of ancient mystery and teen angst. Set in a dark, comic book world against the backdrop of late 80s counter culture, it follows a homeless teen recruited into a storied elite private school where the world's top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques and his own adolescent uncertainties soon proves to be vital.

Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval star.

Remender and Feldsott executive produce with Joe Russo, Anthony Russo and Mike Larocca (Spy). Adam Targum (Banshee) from Chipmunk Hill also served as executive producer on the pilot, along with Lee Toland Krieger (The Age of Adaline), who also directed.

"We're committed to developing graphic novels for SYFY and have found a rich, compelling, truly unique world in Deadly Class," said Bill McGoldrick, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. "Our producing partners expertly combined high school angst, 80s nostalgia and comic flair into a beautifully realized, visually arresting pilot that truly brings Rick and Wes' acclaimed comic series to life."

The Deadly Class pickup follows the recently announced series order for space thriller Nightflyers, based on author George R.R. Martin's novella, and the successful recent series launches of Krypton, which premiered to more than 2.6 million viewers, and Happy!, the twisted adaptation of Grant Morrison's graphic novel, starring Christopher Meloni and Patton Oswalt.

There is no decision yet on Syfy's other two pilots, Tremors and Run For Your Life.

Friday lineup should just stay permently.

Glad for more 60minutes, so weird that it actually needs to be announced for "renewal" like they would ever cancel it.

-Perhaps its time to end Scorpion.

Guess I have to wait until next year for news of Price is Right renewal.

Lol at that drop off from Roseanne to Alex, Inc.

It's kind of funny to imagine 9 million people just immediately changing the channel once that comes on. I like Zach Braff too but that show just looks really corny.

Carla Gugino To Topline 'Jett' Cinemax Drama Series From Sebastian Gutierrez
Cinemax has given a straight-to-series order to drama Jett, from Snakes on a Plane and Gothika scribe Sebastian Gutierrez, with Carla Gugino attached to star and executive produce.

Written by Gutierrez, in Jett, fresh out of prison, world-class thief Daisy "Jett" Kowalski (Gugino) is forced back into doing what she does best by dangerous and eccentric criminals determined to exploit her skills for their own ends.

Gugino's Daisy "Jett" Kowalski is an intensely practical and self-reliant thief, an unsentimental woman of action. With the birth of her daughter, Jett planned to put her career in crime behind her, only to find herself drawn into doing one last job.

Jett is produced by Global Road Entertainment for Cinemax. Gutierrez executive produces and directs. Mark Stern, Stuart Ford and Dana Brunetti also executive produce. Stacey Levin is co-executive producer. Kathy Landsberg is line producer.

Jett is part of Cinemax's recallibrated strategy as a destination for fun, mostly action-packed, original programming. It joins co-productions Strike Back, Rellik and C.B. Strike as well as Warrior, the first homegrown tentpole drama for the new Cinemax.

It's not terribly surprising

Last night's episode was better. The first one I watched (the second) of Alex, Inc. made me consider whether it was worth watching throughout a lot of it, but did pick up in the end.

It airs again tonight, so maybe last night's was a repeat or it airs earlier in America.

Wow, that's a lot of cliches. But good on Cinemax for... not giving up yet?

Deadline pls, two out of four in that list are not "fun" and "mostly action packed". Can we just admit to it being a destination for cheap imports + whatever the fuck they can scramble together.

If the shows that are on the bubble at CBS don't get renewed would that be the first time a whole night of a station died? The shows rotating in like 9JKL and Living Biblically (Me, Myself, and I? not sure what night that was) seemed like they didn't do well. But for them to have to end up dumping 3 hours of TV from one night would be nuts.

From what the author wrote elsewhere it almost seems as if Life in Pieces would be safe it it were not from Fox.

Yep. Season 1 didn't end the way it should have and season 2 was an unmitigated disaster. 3 was a bit better, because they spent the whole season trying to course correct, but it was still a mess. 4 was good though, and 5-7, while still solid, have had their ups and downs.

et tu Brutus?

man, I thought it still had at least a few good years in it, if its just the first, fuck it :/

Thankfully, the show had it's best ratings in years thanks to the Thursdsy slot. It helped that the season was one of the best in a while.
Yeah, CBS's hesitance with it lately had me so worried the last few seasons(especially when CBS sat on a filmed season nearly a full year without airing one)
I love Survivor but I need breaks every now and then, Amazing Race however I could watch another season immediately after the last ended.

I can't really speak for anything after S1&2 myself, i disliked 2 so much I made it like an episode or 2 into S3 and had just lost motivation to continue it atm.
