Showing your support for The Good Life - The Good Lifeのサポーターであることを公開しよう!
Posted by White Owls Inc. (Collaborator)
On Twitter, one of the backer [link: https://bit.ly/2qPuGYf] of the campaign designed an avatar and a couple of banners to show your support of The Good Life.

They were made so anyone who wants to show their support can use them:

Of course, share the link to the campaign wherever you can as well.

And this is the opportunity to remind you all that many fans and backers are talking on the Discord channel: https://discord.gg/akhkJUg

I am just coming from Reboot where Swery had a talk and the game presentation. We need to support this, it looks amazing! I will up my pledge if needed.

I think offering just the physical version by itself would cause a lot of people to upgrade from the digital version.

Do people who might be interested even know this is happening? Something like Easy Allies could give it a push at least.

This is the guy who cancelled season 2 to D2 and tried to silence fans wanting the game to continue, so I'm not exactly feeling sorry for this KS failing. Maybe he should finish what he began before asking the same fans who asked him to finish a game's story, it kinda helps with the reputation, y'know.

None of this has anything to do with him and I'm pretty sure you know this already. Why do you keep clinging on that thread when the evidence is against you ?

I want to say D4 is owned by Access Games? It's either them or Microsoft.

Regardless, SWERY doesn't work at Access. No need to bug him about a season 2 of D4, as he can't do anything about it.

I'm pretty sure he said in the AMA that he wanted to do some kind of continuation (think the question was about a sequel comic) if the IP holder allowed him to.

What thread? I'm referring to this.

Also I meant D4 not D2.

I meant thread like a strand of cotton. Microsoft was funding it and then they noped out, Swery wasn't allowed to tell what the future of D4 is about and he had to take a year-long sick leave because of health reasons that has resulted in his departure (or firing, we don't know the details). Swery isn't in good terms with Access Games apparently, it's not like he didn't want to work on it, he even said that he'd like to put what he had in mind for the rest of the series out there.

I don't think people should be trying to control what he is and isn't able to produce.
Well, to be fair, that is exactly what Kickstarter does.

That said, dude's reasoning is clearly bullshit. As if a single human has any goddamn control when it comes to publishers and even employers. It shows an incredible ignorance of how the games industry works. I know, as an employee in the games industry, I currently have absolutely no control over what I work on.

Also please back this everybody. ;_;

D4 was such a janky mess that honestly I think it'd be better continued as a novel or mini series or something. The music and story were great... playing it, not so much.

No, it doesn't, but I'm not surprised. They made the same mistake as they did in the Fig campaign, giving vague promises about Switch and Xbox One support "if the campaign is successful", instead of putting them in actual stretch goals straight away. I'm not backing the game if my ability to play it is hanging on a thread of unsubstantiated promises, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Wow, how to almost turn myself off a game in an instant!
The Good Life is a debt repayment daily life RPG co-developed by SWERY's (Deadly Premonition) White Owls Inc. and a development team led by Yukio Futatsugi,

I have enough bother avoiding debt as it is in real life than to play a game like...oh.

Oh.

Ok then. I'm interested. I'm going to be one of those arsehole who waits to the end to back this though.

Update 22

Introducing the camera mode, a vital element of TGL! -

Today we released a video that introduces one of The Good Life's most important systems, the camera mode!
You'll be able to photograph anything you want with your camera in The Good Life...
Please check out the video and let your imagination run wild!

Buying new equipment will let you do a ton of new things!
Your gear will allow you to zoom, improve the focus, and make all sorts of minor adjustments!
We're also planning to put a lot of other gear in the game that isn't introduced in this video.

With this robust camera system, you'll be able to take a ton of fun pictures in the mysterious world of The Good Life that you'd never be able to take in the real world!

You'll be able to set up objects to make your own backgrounds or aim to get shots of scandalous activity in town... It's all up to how you want to play!

We'll keep releasing new updates regarding the game, so we hope you're excited!

Sigh, getting the updates and seeing cool features is depressing because it's obvious at this point this isn't gonna happen.
I wouldn't say it's obvious, the last 4 days usually are one of the points most spending is done, but it is not looking good. It's not impossible but they need to do something in the last 10 days to really attract new audiences.

I plan after I pay my bills to see how much I can raise my own pledge, but of course my contribution won't save it, but see what I can do myself.

This is just getting sad now. This will be his third or fourth failure trying to get his game backed by the community. It's a shame because I'd definitely like to play the game.

If they add a standard physical I'll hop in. The super expensive collector's edition isn't worth for me. Though, if they are getting close I might back the collector's edition. Cause I really do want to see this game made.

Would you pre-order a game that you aren't sure whether you are gonna like it or not?
A kickstarter project on the brink of failing will not see the light of day even if I want to play it.
A game I can pre-order has a set release date in most cases and does not need support from the community as it already has a publisher.

I'm not confident in what's been shown thus far.
So why do you want to play it?

I like the idea, but not the present execution.
It won't change much (if it would get made). Not sure what you mean. The art style complements the game and the story.
Seems like you like... the idea but are not really into the game mechanics itself.
Like a friend said to me "no thanks, it's a cat game, it's for girls" ... ?
