I want to believe! Hardy is a great actor, but something was just off. Maybe they just picked poor clips. The double talk and look of venom is good though, so at least there is something to look forward to. I've been wanting a good venom movie since Marvel vs Capcom lol.

The trailer reminds me Venom is a decent concept when you divorce him from the whole "hates Spider-Man" thing. The whole "two personalities cooperating with one body, one nice and one violent" idea is always fun.

hey I have that issue!This film may end up being okay, but I'd be remiss if I didn't say I am disappointed I'll never see this.
This was the first issue of Spiderman I ever bought and what got me into comics. So much of what made Venom a great villain wasn't just his strength but the shared hatred both Brock and the symbiote had for Parker. That and they knew all his secrets.
It's unfortunate Sony wasn't thinking long game. We could still have gotten this film, but it could have been a story of redemption, and the idea of an antihero would have resonated more, if he had been one of Spidey's greatest foils first.

Also wouldn't make sense without the connection to Spider-Man. Though I guess they could alter the white logo so it looks less spiderish and is just some sort of pattern.
I'm in, probably gonna be a sleeper hit for this year. Eddie and the Symbiote talking to each other is a great touch, the symbiote is a living thing and giving it a conscious could make for some great banter. If the "we are venom" scene is only half way in and we haven't seen shit yet, I expect a great second half and 3rd Act. Also like how it looks more organic, unlike SM3 which just venomized the Black Suit.
Who is the actress playing the scientist who says "sym-bi-ote"? She sounds just like a voice actress I've heard in kids cartoons before, am I mistaken?
This could have been Marvel/Sony's Deadpool. R rated Venom with an eventual link into the MCU via Spiderman cameo near the end would have been great and it would have been cool as fuck if they linked Life to it. It certainly would have put more asses on seats.

Kind of where I was about to go. From a design stand point agent venom or Spider Man 2099 eyes may have worked better to pull him away from the design of Spider man if he is missing the logo (which I hope)

If you're gonna do Venom as an anti-hero, it's better to not tie him with Spider-Man.

Haven't read through the thread to see if anyone has mentioned, but parts of this trailer made me feel like it was a live action The Darkness movie.
