Part of the appeal of Destiny has always been that even if it's not 60 fps at least it's consistent. That changed today. Hopefully it's a bug that can be addressed.

That is to be expected from Destiny tbh, but this was a new low imo, there is so little information in the story that you won't miss out on anything by just watching the trailers they have posted for it.
I can't wait to try it tongiht but another shit campaign really hurts. I was the guy that defended bungie and D1 to my death. I looooved the first game. thousands of hours.

Kinda bugs me a little their solution to extending the grind was just bring the soft cap way down. Going to hit 340 so quickly, then you're just limited to the already limited weekly stuff? That still doesn't make me feel like continuously playing throughout the week..... once milestones are done then what?
Once I hit (or surpassed?) 340 PL the vendors have been rewarding 340 engrams in exchange for tokens. Blues are capped at 335 for the moment. I'm 344 now with only legs keeping me below 345; once I get a 340 leg armor drop I'll probably hit 345.
Yep, the campaign sucks. The increase in level cap just felt like a way to artificially increase the length by making you grind for a bit.
Anyone else having issues with their characters not showing up in the companion app? It shows the Era clan so it's obviously connected to my account, but it says I have no characters. I played a few months ago and always used it to switch weapons between characters.
I enjoyed the campaign. The last boss was good. Now im about to try some new weapons in crucible.
Some early thoughts:
- The 3rd mission's big fight might be the best solo fight they've put in D2 so far
- Bungie really needs to add some better anti-aliasing to their engine. I'm playing in 4k on the X and all the stars in the Bray complex look terrible
- The new Graviton Lance is perfect for Hive. Skyburner's is cool now, but just feels inefficient next to Lance.
- The new Mars area is a respectable size after the joke that was Mercury
- Nothing feels like a Bungie FPS. I've been playing through Bioshock Infinite lately, and yeah, no comparison
- I like seeing things scattered around the map again that I don't know what they do until I complete the campaign

Are you guys on Xbox also getting awful framerate issues? It's affecting movement and gunplay. I don't expect this from Destiny.
For what it's worth the large area in front of the Clovis building taxes my PC way more than anything else in D2.
The entire campaign is running poorly for me on a Pro.
Lol also don't infuse a piece of armour into your armour if it's too high for you to wear. What that did was basically remove my armour and leave me with what looks like pajamas and also dropped me way down in power. That seems like a stupid design decision to me. Just don't let me infuse it if it's going to negate what I'm currently equipped with.
It can't be incorrect as it is worse than CoO story-wise, quality-wise and length-wise too. Four missions in total and only one of them is really good. There literally is BARELY even a story existing. It's the worst campaign by a fair margin.
There's been a couple spots here and there where the frame rate isn't great. I'm playing on the X.
Bray sounds like a 13 year old girl. I'm also getting a lot of audio dropouts. I'm thinking this want tested very well on the PS4 Pro.
The more I run around Mars, the more I think the snowy rock work has been pulled directly from the Cosmodrome with just a lighting change. Some of this feels very familiar.

One of the missions is gated that you need to be level 28 but no it's a super quick story, shorter than CoO even.
I dunno but I just can't get to worked up about the campaign in destiny, they've always been about as meh as it gets for me. It's about the grind, weapons, char building etc... Least for me. I personally cant pound thru the campaigns quick enough. But I know that not everyone feels that way.

By the way, if you preview Tess's inventory you will see proof of a very popular weapon from Destiny 1 returning.
I hope Digital Foundry tests this soon. So far I don't think I've seen a steady 30 fps for longer than mere seconds.
Finished the campaign. Way, way better than the Osiris stuff. Still not amazing, but better. And it feels like a story that matters more in terms of lasting impact going forward. I do have a big concern going forward though.
All the hints about the September expansion seem to be towards Savathun, but jfc if we have ANOTHER Hive expansion I might blow my brains out. Enough with the Hive obsession.
My entire issue is, there are so many ample opportunities for a really interesting and well-thought-out story with good characters and gameplay to go alongside it. And they never really deliver anyway, but this is barely even an attempt if we are being serious. You arrive on Mars, get told by that blue bastard that a guardian like us has no right to be doing this, and one mission later he is telling us how pivotal we are to getting this shit done. Then another mission later we are about to take down a fucking GOD.

And bide their time while most their resources probably go into their next TK like expansion. The season pass was kind of a slap in the face in D1 and potentially even more so this time around.
Is the engine and asset pipeline that freaking bad for Bungie?
