I need some advice...

I was about to order the Twin Peaks Blu-Ray set on Amazon, then noticed that it says "PAL FORMAT [NOT SUITABLE IN US/CANADA]". And yet, under Regions it says "All Regions", and I don't see anything about regions on the back of the packaging.

Do you guys/gals think this should play fine on a PS3?
There's one for a bit under $42 that is listed as region free. I bought the set from a UK online retailer (Zavvi) a couple years ago and it was region free as well. I have no idea if the one I linked to comes in the new hideous packaging or the sweet box like mine though.

Oops. I linked to the wrong set on Amazon. The one I was looking at buying was the $41 one you linked to that says "PAL FORMAT". Hopefully it'll play okay since it does also say "All Regions". And if you didn't have a problem with your UK edition (which looks to have different packaging), then this one is probably okay as well. Thanks for the help!

I was going to cancel my Runner 3 preorder on Amazon, but the other day got an email saying it has been upgraded to release day delivery, so I might just hang onto it now.

Has anyone ever had any luck actually getting things on release day from Amazon? I've never even tried, but in my experience with other things their shipping time are always off.

I get all my stuff day 1 with Prime. Once in a while I get a game a day early as well. Based on the reactions in here around the launch of big games I seem to be in the minority though lol.

Even without Prime, I got the vast majority of my orders shipped to me on Day 1 (some exceptions notwithstanding i.e. when they'd pair items together that I told them to ship separately) so the only benefit was the 20% off since I never found the time to watch anything from Amazon's video offerings.

Weird, I guess it's just totally out of print? It seems like there's no way to know which region you're going to get...

What a day. Had some spare time to kill so I ended up calling Markham Canada Computers and got them to hold the last Sony 55X900E they had.

Unfortunately, I decided to grab some coffee on the way down the 1hr20min trip and ended up getting rear ended trying to leave. So that put a shit stain on my day.

When I got to Canada Computers though I was really shocked that it was a Best Buy sized store. Though I'm still confused why I had to check the tv on the way out. Was there something specific I was looking for? Was I suppose to open EVERYTHING and make sure it wasn't scratched? (Was new in box)

Will say going from a 40" to a 54.5" screen is going to take some time to get use to. Going to try some God of War in abit to check out HDR.

I sold TV's at Best Buy some years ago, we were normally supposed to check the tv to see if the screen is cracked. It was presented to us as protecting the company in case the customer did something stupid and broke the tv on the way home, plus the customer wouldn't have to come back with it if it was cracked during shipping.

In my time there none of the tv's were ever cracked out of the box, except one came back and you couldn't see the crack when the tv was off so checking didn't help anyways.

This.
Only within the last two years has checking TVs (sized 55" and up I believe) stopped being a thing at BB stores, but I can see why some retail chains do it.

Last tv was bought at the brick like 8-10 years ago and I didn't have to open it in store. Just seemed really weird... I kinda stared at them like they were weird. lmao

But I guess that makes sense. Wish they explained what I was looking for in store tho.

Guys trying to claim he "doesn't feel he's at fault" but he rear ended me while I was trying to get out of a Tim Hortons exit onto a fairly busy road. Never been in any sort of accident before so this should be interesting...
Was it in a parking lot? You are SOL. I reveresed out of a spot and guy tried to blow past me and I didn't see so I hit him. We exchanged info, told him to let me know damages

He instead went to the police lol. I went in they did their investigation. Determined nobody was at fault. I would have paid for the guys repair to avoid insurance stuff. He fucked himself and since it was parking lot, didn't count against me lol.

I bought one from an HMV while I was in the UK. It was all region. Season 1 + 2 and the movie.

I love people fucking shit up for themselves. When I was a teen my buddy had an accident in Rexdale with a few of us in his car. Neither car had any real damage but the other driver insisted on not leaving until the cops showed up because he was "hurt" and was trying to take advantage of a bunch of teens. We waited for almost an hour until they showed up and the cops asked my buddy and the other driver for their licenses and insurance but the other guy had neither. The cop laughed when he found out it was the other guy that insisted they be called and let us go while they dealt with the moron. lol

No I went through the drive through and was at the road trying to get out. Dude feels he's not at fault, and I sure as fuck don't think I am.. so we're going to the minor collision thing tomorrow. Honestly, NOT going through Insurance would be cheaper.

If you were entering the street then it's your fault. Doesn't really matter though, the cops will decide.

Thanks for the info! I had done some additional research and it did look like the UK version is definitely region free, so I've already bought it on Amazon. But thanks for the reassurance, nonetheless!

Note sure about Ontario, but in BC I'm pretty sure ICBC's default position is that the rear car in a rear-ender is 100% at fault. If you're driving a car, you have to be able to stop before you hit something, period. It's not your (Faenix's) responsibility to dive your car sideways off the road because some guy says "Hey, I'm driving here."

If you were properly stopped and waiting for a break in traffic, you should be fine. But you have to deal with the hassle of going through the motions of a court case (where there is a non-zero chance that you might get screwed). Just get ready to lay out the facts, and brace yourself for some last-second desperation lies on the other guy's part.

And yes, that guy's an idiot for taking it to the courts when it's clearly his fault. If he had paid you for any damage to your car and dealt with his own car's damage on his own, he could've saved himself a significant amount of money, but if he's stupid enough to smash into a stationary object, then we already know he's pretty stupid.

There's no taking it to court in Ontario. You each go to your own insurance company and they handle everything. It's why it's important to explain what happened at the accident reporting centre in a way that's beneficial to you.

Uggh that's kinda pricey but I'm really interested?

Do they charge immediately? What's different about this one again?
That's from a third-party, the one from Amazon Japan already sold out. I'm paying a little over 9,000 yen for mine, and that's including taxes + shipping.

They still have the version with bundled AC Adapter in-stock, but they won't ship it outside of Japan (at least, they won't ship it to Canada). :(

https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B07D2GTYSY/

And to answer your question, Amazon Japan charges when they ship.

Ah gotcha, appreciate it, I'll keep my eyes open for Amazon or someone else to put it back up for a reasonable price.

Cashed out $25, which is well enough.
... I got Bonus up to $50, but then when I went to cash out it split it $25 Cash, $25 Bonus, then when I cashed out I lost the remaining $25 bonus... oh well.

Although I'm surprised one can get 649 and LottoMax tickets online now

So what do you actually need to do to turn the promo into money? lol

Each free money promo has a "wager requirement". It's usually a multiple of the promo credit amount. EG if they give you $20 in free money with a 10x wager requirement. You need to gamble $200 before you can cash out. Most of the promos have wager requirements like that. It's hard to cash those out because there's a good chance you will go broke long before you have fed 10x the promo money into the machine.

Promos with a 1x wager requirement are great, because they are basically a guaranteed payout. Even if you don't hit any jackpots, you're going to have an accumulation of small payouts you earned while getting to the 1x wager requirement. Just pick a penny slot, bet one credit per line, do auto spin the number of pulls needed to hit the wager requirement, cash out. Eg if you pick a penny slot with 30 lines, that's 84 pulls to get to $25 wagered.

I've managed to cash out about $200 this way so far. I've cashed out $80, $40, $30, and $20 a couple times. The site is still new and they are still in aggressive customer acquisition mode, so these will probably continue for a while yet.

But again, I need to reiterate, NEVER PUT REAL MONEY INTO THE SITE. Gambling from home is an easy way to lose tons of money you can't afford to lose, even if you set up your account with good restrictions. But free gambling money is there to be had if you pay attention, and can control yourself.

I usually cash out if I'm north of $20 and just keep playing if I'm under that. But you can set up your own cash out rules, SO LONG AS YOU NEVER PUT REAL MONEY INTO THE SITE.

The other $25 was a registration bonus that probably had different cash out terms and by cashing out before you satisfied them, you waved your rights to the remaining promo balance. Which is probably fine, because you could have lost everything before satisfying both requirements. Better to take the guaranteed $25.
