I gotta assume the Timeless delay means someone is fighting for it. Timeless is a wonderful show that never deserved a second season. Frankly I can't believe they ended it on a cliffhanger. They should have known better.

Welp. Tuesdays are more free... but at what cost.

At least Fresh Off the Boat has a good way to close things out with Eddy's graduation, but I'm more worried about Soeechless. The only hope is that one of the newcomers bomb hard.

the TGIF line up from my youth
Are those the only shows that had success on Friday nights in the history of tv? For a while now I've seen Fridays as the exit ramp.

The Friday Night death curse is more of a late 90's and on phenomenon. When I was growing up in the 80's. Friday nights was all about all the networks taking their best shot against the juggernaught that was Dallas. Then TGIF became king in the early 90's(after they had already killed Just The Ten of US *sniffle).

Considering ABC cancelled 12 shows this season and renewed 13, you'll need more than one show to bomb.

Wonder if they are looking for DVR +3/+7 numbers before deciding the fate of Timeless. After that finale better get a S3…

Easier to read, less ugly flashy official schedule. A lot of new shows so I'm most excited to see the trailers for this upfront. Especially A Million Little Things has an amazing cast (James Roday!).

Notably absent from midseason on their official ad is SHIELD which confirms Summer.

This doesn't make any sense. ABC is the one who's been trying to get rid of SHIELD the last couple of seasons. Why would they say something like this.

Plus there's supposed to be a major death at the end of the finale this season they said.

Due to
IW
? Or something on their own right?

If it's due to
IW
, no issues with that, for reasons already known. But if they just are killing someone off to kill them off, bah, always hate that. You don't need to kill off characters every few seasons just to make that shocking finale/storyline. I hate that shit.

I was about to say better not be one of my more liked characters, but my problem is I like all of them. :( Unless it's one of those new ones from this season, I'd be ok with that. But I'm guessing you are talking about an established character by 'major' death.

Any word on Timeless yet? I've been putting off watching season 2 until it's over but now that I know there is a massive cliffhanger, I figured I'd avoid it unless it gets renewed again (not hopeful really).

Not entirely true. The report last year were the "some" at ABC wanted it canceled. Others did not. One high level programming executive has been liking "#RenewAgentsofSHIELD" tweets on his personal Twitter. And this is on top of Disney pushing them to renew.

So I think that actually lends itself to the idea that Disney might plan on bringing the show over to their streaming service next fall.

We don't know what it's due to or what the cause is. All that they did was tease that "in the finale a major character will die".

I will almost certainly end up getting their streaming service, so I'd be ok with this.

I feel like Disney is planning this launch in a very calculated way, which feels different than, for example, CBS All Access. Yes, fall 2019 is a while from now but they want to launch the service with an actual lineup of shows: untitled Star Wars series, Monsters Inc. High School Musical, Mighty Ducks, a Muppets series, untitled Marvel series and potentially "saving" Agents of SHIELD, which has a very loyal fan base and strong international performance.

And that's ignoring the movies they have planned like Lady and the Tramp and Sword and the Stone.

I think it's going to be a huge success for them.

'Lethal Weapon's Damon Wayans Shares Video & Photo Of On-Set Shrapnel Injury, Calls Out Fired Clayne Crawford

I thought people might be interested in this article. The sentiment seems to be split in the comments with some people against Crawford for his reported attitude and the safety concerns and most people against Wayans for being what they feel is petty.

This whole situation stinks. But I agree with others, if there was such an issue with Crawford, why would they let him direct? From what I can tell, these issues began cropping up before he directed.

I don't want to try and guess what happened and who is wrong, but Crawford is gone, why is Wayans doing this now? It's poor taste to post this. He's fired, move on. I'm pretty sure there's more to it, but again, I won't try to extrapolate. It's just sad how everything has turned out.

Leads me to believe that the wait on renewal news was less about the ratings and more about what a Season 6 even looks like after IW. I fully expect that the showrunners had zero idea how IW would end. Season 6 in the summer, after A4, and teeing up a potential segue onto the digital platform makes a lot of sense.

ABC is the mouthpiece here- they speak for Disney in this context.

It just seems weird to blame the director unless Crawford specifically ignored the advice of safety and stunt advisors and pushed Wayans into an unsafe situation. Someone actually died during the making of Deadpool 2 and David Leitch certainly isn't having a hard time finding work.

why is Wayans doing this now?

The prevailing sentiment I'm getting is that fans liked Crawford more and at least so much that they are incredibly upset that he is gone and might stop watching the show. It wouldn't surprise me if Wayans is catching flak on social media and getting trashed. This might be his attempt to spin things and explain why Crawford is gone. However it seems like some news and info might be missing and people don't care about Wayans trying to explain it away. Especially after the fact that Crawford is fired and the show renewed. Wayans probably would have been better off just quietly going about his life and not saying anything.

This is completely unconfirmed, but I'm guessing that Perlmutter is the main person insisting that ABC keep something, anything Marvel-branded on the air. He's definitely petty enough, he has a lot of pull at Disney, and he's also old, so it wouldn't be too implausible for him to be particularly invested in broadcast television even as it's a declining business model.

Give me hope guys...

Is there a chance for Lucifer to be picked up?

Most likely not which makes me sad. I don't feel like the bulk of the fans pushed for another network to pick it up like the fans of The Expanse and Wayward Sisters. The Wayward Sisters stuff is very impressive. Over 50,000 signed the petition already and that's for a CW show that never even existed. That show would have been a huge performer for the CW but for some reason they simply refused to pick it up but the fans are pushing hard for it.

I mean people have been blaming him for Crawford's firing instead of holding Crawford accountable for his own actions. He has every right to speak on the situation, other castmates have chimed in and no one had a problem when they did it. It's really weird the way people have been coddling Crawford throughout this entire situation.

Probably because a lot of people are siding with Crawford.
