So maybe NBC is filming a little thing to let us know that Timeless was almost canceled but due to time travel hijinks it wasn't? Maybe? Right? Surely...

The Magnum reboot makes me angrier than the MacGyver one. He has no mustache and no floral shirt, it's like they had no idea what made Magnum. I thought it was supposed to be staring Magnum's daughter, that could have been interesting.

Loved Murphy Brown back in the day, but pretty sure there's no way this is going to be good. I'll still watch the pilot, at least, unless the trailer is garbage.

Are there trailers for any of the CBS stuff?

Gotham' Boss Sets New Batman Prequel Series at Epix
Epix is getting into the DC Comics business.

The MGM-owned premium cable network has handed out a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for Pennyworth, a drama set in the Batman universe from Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller.

The series will revolve around Alfred Pennyworth, the best friend and butler to Bruce Wayne (aka Batman). The series is not a Gotham spinoff but rather an entirely story exploring Alfred's origins as a former British SAS soldier who forms a secret company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne — Bruce's billionaire father, in 1960s London. Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred Pennyworth on Fox's recently renewed Gotham, is not involved. Casting has not yet begun and the series is set in a completely different universe despite hailing from Heller and producers Warner Horizon.

Some of these first season renewals are perplexing. Like I get the rationale for prolonging the life of shows that are fractional in Season 4+. But when a show like For the People or The Resident are already fractional before their first season is over, what is the play? It's just going to go down so you are pretty much just looking at a Season 2 cancellation at that point. There is no point in trying to stay in Shonda Rhimes good graces because she already has the Netflix deal so ABC isn't going to get another new show from her anyway.

"At this point, there are two kinds of development execs: ones who develop new ideas and ones who rummage through the storage closet trying to see if we still have the ALF puppet," Seth Meyers quipped at NBC's May 14 upfront. The joke landed in part because, well, every other former hit is being resuscitated (see Murphy Brown, Magnum P.I. and Charmed). Of course, not every reboot scored a pickup, with NBC passing on its Bad Boys spinoff starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba (it was "good, not great," says one source), ABC saying no to Greatest American Hero with Hannah Simone ("too off-brand") and CBS hitting the brakes on Cagney & Lacey ("too soft").

You know that ALF joke gave some exec a dumb idea. Also, didn't know Seann William Scott turned down Lethal Weapon two years ago and it's interesting they may have gone to both Karl Urban and Johnny Knoxville before landing SWS this time.

Tales from the Tour Bus renewed
MIKE JUDGE PRESENTS: TALES FROM THE TOUR BUS, chronicling the exploits of legendary music artists, will return for a second season later this year, it was announced today by Kary Antholis, president, HBO Miniseries and CINEMAX Programming. While the first season of the show spotlighted country musicians, the new season will focus on funk music greats, including James Brown, George Clinton and Bootsy Collins.
That's a bit of a surprise.

Oh wow. There were rumors that Cinemax wanted to keep it around despite it not making any even the smallest ripple, but it had been so long that I kind of forgot about it.

Also, it's interesting that season two will focus on funk since Mike Judge kept saying he wanted season two to be about gangster rap.

Looks like TNT is planning to wrap up Good Behavior with either a final season or a movie:

"I don't see multiple more seasons of it but there could be a way to cap that off for the audience that really loved it. Right now it's not in the planning stages, but we have talked to the producers. If I can get the real estate and the cash flow going to cap it off properly we'd figure it out."

Asked by Deadline whether that capping off the series means a movie or a final season, Reilly said, "unclear," adding that, while there are no immediate plans, the idea is "to properly bring it to a conclusion."

I really should get an agent and punch up a script for my Andy Griffith Show police procedural reboot called Mayberry.

If it was about Gotham universe Alfred(the best Alfred) i'd be day 1.

Its still Batman though so im interested regardless.

Eh, it's the same basic thing. Alfred being ex-special forces badass has been pretty common in various Batman properties for a little while now so I don't know that it matters whether the Alfred in this new show turns into Michael Caine orSean Pertwee.

Magnum PI - Another bland and unnecessary reboot that I'm sure will fit right into CBS' reboot-verse.

Murphy Brown - I'd never even heard of Murphy Brown before they announced the revival, so I have no affinity for or knowledge of this series. The clips from the old seasons seemed far more interesting and fun than any of the new bits (which to be fair, were made specifically for the trailer. No new footage of the actual show?), which just scream "old people CBS comedy".

FBI - Totally lifeless and generic-as-can-be crime procedural with an embarrassingly awful cover of 'Wonderwall' playing over it. holy shit

God Friended Me - Fox's Touch, only with God on Facebook instead of a little mute boy with numbers.

The Neighborhood - As long as every episode doesn't revolve around that one joke, it could be a solid CBS multicam.

Happy Together - Aggressively unfunny with an unsustainable premise. Nope.
