Rough as in sad or just bad? If it's the latter, it can't be as bad as How I Met Your Mother.Man, I know New Girl isn't as funny as it used to be but this series finale is ROUGH.

Ouch. Lol. He doesn't seem to find much success anymore does he haha

Oh wait he did have his sitcom last like 4 seasons with very few viewers
Yeah, peepre much the two most consistent cast members. The couple next door was done afteraa season or two. The actress for their daughter kept changing as well. JB Smoove as a cast member had pretty decent chemistry with the two of the leads though. And the son in law broke the 4th wall a lpy and knew the daughter was changing. None of their changes really helped at all.
I still need to watch this. They had a fucking Blossom reunion on this show. Even Big Bang Theory has avoided that.Yeah, peepre much the two most consistent cast members. Yep.They did? I guess I didn't realize cause I didn't watch Blossom. But I do specifically remember being amused at the scene where the son in law is talking to Mayim Bialik about her acting career and the cameras being zoomed out while showing the set and other cameras and mentioning that the actress for his wife is different all the time.
If anything I would expect Big Bang to have done a scene with a sort of reunion of multiple Roseanne cast members.
How often has a network actually bothered giving something another season because of it? I'm guessing zero or pretty damn close to it.
I guess it depends though...
I guess it depends though...
Like... what was that post-apocalyptic show with the nuts? Maybe you can argue that the cliffhanger got fans motivated to send peanuts to CBS which in turn got them to bring back the show? lol
I guess same with Sense8?
Yeah, I guess that's true. Has Netflix saved any other of their cancelled shows though?Jericho was like the only example of that actually working.
Also, no one thought Sense8 was in any danger because that was before Netflix started getting ruthless with their cancellations. Everyone thought season 3 was inevitable.
Yeah, I guess that's true. Has Netflix saved any other of their cancelled shows though?
Yeah, I guess that's true. Has Netflix saved any other of their cancelled shows though?
Hrm, yeah. Although I don't know if that was fan demand driving a save, but rather the Netflix algorithm deciding that the show is worth producing. lolNot that I can think of. Unless you count them not cancelling House of Cards outright following the Spacey scandal.
THe special was in between seasons IIRC.
lol I remember the constant Chuck cliffhangers. Now that I think about it more, Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis did this too... until both shows got cancelled. Same with Universe.Chuck is the only one that comes to mind that kind of sort of had the cancellation/cliffhanger threat that ended up working, but I think the fan and critic support came through for that one way, way more than the cliffhanger ever did.
(I defeated my own point, but it was worth mentioning!)
Laurie Metcalf came first IIRC.
That's a lot of talent. The inevitable Trump (shit)show will be lucky to have even half as much talent behind it.Brexit (w/t) is an utterly timely and compelling new political thriller (1x120') from Olivier and RTS-winning screenwriter James Graham (Quiz, Ink, This House, The Vote, Tory Boyz, Coalition). Unpacking the anatomy of the historic, high-stakes campaign to win the hearts and minds of the British people, this one-off drama set primarily during the referendum will, for the first time, explore the myriad tactics employed to swing one of the most surprising referendum results in living memory. Directed by the award-winning Toby Haynes (Black Mirror, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Sherlock), this new drama will explore the data-driven political campaign behind one of the most contested, controversial government referendums in modern history.
Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Doctor Strange, The Imitation Game, The Hollow Crown) stars as Dominic Cummings, the leading strategist and Campaign Director of Vote Leave.
Horgan will star and exec produce Happy AF (w/t), a comedy about trying to find happiness. Created by Aisling Bea, who is set to star in Amy Poehler's forthcoming NBC comedy I Feel Bad, the series stars her as Aine, who is trying to pull her life back together after a nervous breakdown. Horgan, who produces through her Merman banner, also stars as her sister Shona.
Horgan is also producing Next Week's News, a TV pilot from Deborah Frances-White, the creator of The Guilty Feminist podcast. The 45-minute show will be based in a studio, overseen by a female-led production team, with followers encouraged to speak out on a range of issues. Merman, which is run by Horgan and her producing partner Clelia Mountford, will produce.
Horgan's involvement in two C4 shows will be a boon for the linear broadcaster, particularly as she recently signed an overall deal with Amazon.
Yep.

Yeah, Big Bang sort of did it with Sara Gilbert though.
NETFLIX IS GOING TO RESCUE THAT CULT SCI-FI SHOW THAT YOU LIKED SO MUCH
...just kidding. They're considering rescuing Designated Survivor for some reason
Because nothing says "healthy show" like being on its fifth showrunner, or to put it differently:
The HIMYM final season and finale was so bad that I don't want to watch any of the show again. While the show was still on it was in syndication here on at least two different channels but after the finale both channels stopped showing it. I've never seen a 200+ episode popular sitcom just disappear like that before.Rough as in sad or just bad? If it's the latter, it can't be as bad as How I Met Your Mother.
do these type of shows ever show in america???Channel4 commissions Brexit (w/t), starring Benedict Cumberbatch
These are exactly my feelings about it. Retroactively no longer have any interest in watching it. And I really liked the show too. And you're right, I don't see reruns anywhere now. Gotta be one of the most damaging and destructive finales of all time. The HIMYM final season and finale was so bad that I don't want to watch any of the show again. I think Britbox/Acorn TV might carry them.
Yes. It's ongoing but the most interesting thing that will come out of it is probably this:
Roseanne, Magnum P.I. and Murphy Brown? Is this 1998?
Also the new Magnum doesn't even have a mustache are you fucking kidding me

UK Broadcaster Channel4 Scores Two Sharon Horgan Comedies As It Hands Genre $13M Budget Boost
Because we talked earlier about how Amazon were bad at locking down the talent behind their shows (and specifically named Horgan):
Good job Amazon! Soon you will be a real streaming service.
1998 would still be too late. More like 1988.
already edited the post, it was a mistake
It's hard for old people to get up and walk across the room to change the channel. Some of them also fall asleep before 9pm leaving the TV on CBS all night.
