Tempted to get this to scratch the motion control mini game itch, but those low-poly models just scream "quick cash grab."

Anyone know the price?

This is like music to my ears!! I wanted this when I had the Wii u , but was really hard to get hold of an imported copy. I take it this is getting launched worldwide??? Is this going to be Switches equivalent to WII Sports Resort?

Um, what accessories did the Wii version require to get the most of it, I can't think of any? Or did maybe some mini games require the balance board or something? Unless you didn't have a motion plus (but that was a must for some of the best games on Wii like Red Steel 2 and Wii Sports Resort so you'd have missed out!).
I believe the skiiing game and a few others used the balance board. The same team that did this also did We Ski which used it.

Anyway, sorta excited for this. If only for the inclusion of fishing. I really wish we could get a port of Yuji Naka's Fishing Resort, which is a real hidden gem.

I actually saw my copy of the wii version the other day and was thinking about hooking the wiiu to play it. Not sure I will buy it again, but I had a lot of fun with the original and if the price is right I might consider it.

Also add me to the list of people that would like to see Fishing Resort ported over.

No online, if true, is a death sentence as far as I'm concerned. Maybe they are targeting families I guess? Just seems weird when so much of the demographics for switch arent that.

What. No really, what?

Go Vacation was a hidden gem on the Wii, overlooked due to the piles of shovelware sports titles and minigame collections that poisoned the well over the years, not in a million years did I think that Namco would remember it existed let alone bring it to Switch.

If it works well with single joycon+tabletop, it would support more than the family demographic.

I played the Wii version exclusively for the skiing which was great with the motion controls. Hopefully they improve the controls for all the other events which were clunky as all hell.

I honestly had never heard of this game before, but from what you folks are telling me about the way it's set up and the leisurely pace, this sounds like the kind of game that can fill the niche that Endless Ocean did for me.
Speaking of Endless Ocean, what is Arika up to these days? As unlikely as it is, I would love to see another one.

I'm not sure how I've never heard of this but I am all over it. Looks awesome!!! My wife and I love co-op games like this. We played the shit out of Nintendo Land on the Wii-U. Especially, Metroid Blast (aka one of the secret best co-op games of all time).

This looks great as an alternative to Wii Sports Resort on the Switch as most of you said. I might get it if it's for 50 or so I need those fun family friendly game to play with friends.

This just makes me bummed that we're not getting a true Wii Sports Resort sequel developed by Nintendo. They nailed golf, frisbee golf, 3pt basketball contest, bowling, jetski, etc. so well.

In Go Vacation is there similar games to Wii Sports Resort? Namely, bowling and golf (not mini golf)?

Well it was a quite successful game for them (and if I recall correctly, had Nintendo like legs in Japan for quite a while).

I remember hearing really good things about this on Wii, but never got around to playing it. I'm game.

I bought this for the Wii about 3 years ago. It was okay for a while but got boring, so I sold it on. A lot of the events are very similar, just re-skinned.

I recall our favourite activity was racing down from the top of the mountain on large inflatable tyres. This was not one of the official 50 events. There is inflatable tyre race but it is very short. The open world nature means you can do what you want, so we got the inflatable tyres and just whizzed down the mountain. What I am trying to say is most of the 50 events are pretty dire, but as it is fairly open world you can make up your own.

  • Up to 4 players* on one system or local wireless**, with variety of control styles, including motion control

Hm... that point doesn't say new on Switch, but I wonder if it means there will be games that don't use motion controls this time? At least racing and such really could do with standard control options.

Perfect game for the summer.

Bandai Namco does what Nintendon't.
It actually seems like Nintendo is involved with the port. They're listed in the copyright.

In the NoA press release, it states several games have the option for motion controls, which leads me to believe standard controls will be the norm for every game (or at least the majority of them).

Hmm...for some reason the characters remind me of the Sims from the MySims games on Wii.

So this is one of those 3 games Bamco would bring to Switch? This does not bodes well for any kind of serious support from them.

For me it totally looks like Everybody's Golf: the silly characters in a realistic environment, the idea of being open world,... it doesn't have the same depth but that's not the point.

In retrospect i strongly disagree with this review.

Still today in 2018, there is an audience for Wii Sports-like / casual party games, the idea of being open world looks fun, it makes sense cause you are supposed to be in vacation.
