Literally everyone would be. If somebody says they've never had a violent or illegal thought in their life, they are lying sacks of shit.
Having a violent or illegal thought is normal and is not psychopathic. Everyone does it. Get real, dude.

I think most people go their whole lives not saying some of what they really think or feel. It's part of the social contract. I'd definitely be kicked out of ERA, for example, if I didn't just avoid certain topics.

I've been in countless situations where I see/read/experience something appalling and in a state of momentary rage or charged emotion I imagine some kind of pain and torment on whoever I feel at the time to be a responsible party.

Having thoughts and acting on them are two wildly different things, and the separation between them is part of what makes us human.
The thing that makes prosecuting thought crime tough is that thought itself is generally a stream of consciousness, transient by nature. Catching someone in the middle of a nasty thought would be pure luck, unless they are consumed by it.
