Heart pieces are hidden in an enemy keep. Open the menu and check the status of enemy keeps to see which ones have chests in them. Heart containers are hidden somewhere in the stage (under bombable rocks, hidden in corners of the map and so on). Keep in mind you have to be using the corresponding character. if the game says the heart piece/container is for Link then you have to be Link.
Thanks!

Ugh, just got completely destroyed by Argorak. I couldn't seem to figure out his tell. And it didn't help that there were a couple other minibosses there, so it was hard to concentrate on what was going on. Honestly, I think these bosses are probably my least favorite part of the game so far. Sure, it's the traditional 3D Zelda style fights, but it's not as fun as the rest of the game I think. Fights against the other characters are better.

But other than that, I'm having a blast in my first Warriors game. Not that I'm any good at it; it feels like a never-ending sense of panic throughout the mission, even though this is the first time I actually died... And I don't think I've found a moveset I didn't like yet. Other than the embarrassing incident with Argorak, I think I like Lana's the best so far.

when his tail glows blue, fire your hookshot at him and you'll expose his weakpoint

it glows blue during his flamethrower attack and when he summons a tornado

So I've finished the main part of legend mode and I'm working through Linkle's story now. Many of my characters besides Link are either around level 1-5 or just their early 20s and leveling them with rupees seems extremely expensive based on how much I currently have. What would be a good plan of attack? Replay old missions to level those characters, try to grind of rupees, or try the Adventure mode?

I also just realized what the sealed weapons are. Is there any easy way to see which ones I'm missing and where to get them, or do I just need to scroll through all the characters and cross reference with a guide?

Quoting once for a new page. Still unsure on what to do next. It's not that I need to min max my efficiency or anything, but I know this game has so much content that I don't want to burn out by doing a bunch of really inefficient things at the beginning.

I also see some "search" prompts on the adventure mode map but I'm unsure what that means.

Adventure mode for sure. Many of the missions in the first map don't require a specific character so they are very easy to level whomever while making progress and chipping away at the massive map and earning hearts, weapons, etc... you shouldn't really be replaying content so early in.

You need to use a compass to reveal the 'search' rewards. Often the compass reveals a sparkling tile you use another item on to unlock the challenge. Expect to buy lots of compasses...

I don't remember the frame rate being this rough in the Wii U version, am I remembering wrong? (playing in handheld)

Im pretty sure it wasn't either. I got used to the Wii U framerate pretty quickly but something feels alot more "stuttery" about the Switch handheld framerate. I hope they release a patch to smooth out performance.

I didn't remember combos being this basick. FEW is superior (slay) in this regard.
Are you talking just about Link or in general? Link repeats some attacks in his combo sequence to mimic his standard attacks in Zelda.

The others have fairly similar combo styles, although Hyrule Warriors actually has an advantage there since for some characters normal attack combos can lead into strong attack combos, while every strong attack is a combo finisher in FE Warriors (like Samurai Warriors vs Dynasty Warriors). FE Warriors characters are faster in general though. Even a slow FE Warrior moveset would be considering pretty quick compared to most HW characters.

Haven't played Ruto yet. She was the bottomest of bottom tier on the Wii U. Noticed taking her on that she had complete invulnerability on the startup of several animations. Was this just for the AI or did she gain some invincibility to make her overly frame heavy attacks finally useful?

Still havent bought this game yet but yall got me so tempted. Think I'm gonna have to buy it tomorrow

How is the local coop? Is both players on the same screen? For more infoi- we have two Switches here in my house but you know what I'm too cheap to buy 2 copies. So hopefully we can play on the big screen split screen (split screen coop)

tl;dr - This game has split screen coop?

performance isn't very good in handheld. Significantly worse than Fire Emblem Warriors.
It's my first time playing Hyrule Warriors. It's alright I guess, good thing I bought it for $30

That makes sense, thanks for the tip. I think I need to stop approaching each stage trying to grab all hearts/skulltulas/A rank etc in one go and just chip away at it.

Wow.. game crashes at the end of my Zelda playthrough of The Sacred Sword. I already didn't feel like replaying it a 3rd time. So much waiting around in that mission and so many finicky escorts stopping every 5 feet. That was really bad timing on that crash.

Edit: Smh.. I forgot to get the heart piece again after the crash.

I just started playing, so yes I was comparing link to the sword users in FEW. Still having a blast of course.

Links sword moveset is pretty meh until the master sword tbh

Focus on the heavy attack 1 spin attack for wave clearing and the y y y x jumping spin for damaging weakpoints in the meantime

Question: What is the the fraction that appears when fusing weapons. For example 1/6, 1/3. I don't think it's explained anywhere.

Having a ton of fun so far! I had the game on Wii U but didn't get very far into it. Having it on the Switch is perfect though and I can see myself getting easily obsessed. All the themed adventure maps look so cool, yet so daunting at the same time.

I absolutely hate legend mode. Missions last way too long , ai is dumb as fuck and allied bases never recover their hp.

Adventure mode is where its at.
Relatively challenging and shorter but numerous missions.
Hate that adv mode progress is gated behind legends
The animations I mean or how the combos flow.

Im the exact opposite. Half the few cast just had random fast slashes for combos. Very few had any additional mechanics.
Most characters here either come with unique mechanics or multiple weapons where few just felt like a festival of clones with repetitive lazy animations.
I think the problem is link' first two movesets are absolutely ass and youre forced to use them a hell lot in the story. Also if you arent doing the adv mode alongside it, youll miss out on a ton of alt weapons for other characters .

Yo, take heed of the biggest pro-tip Adventure Mode has to offer:

On the search squares, liberally use your compass to see which shrub/rock/etc. needs to be interacted with.

Right after using your compass, take note of the sparkling interactive map element and then quit to the home menu and close the game.

Booting back in is surprisingly fast, and you'll still have your compass once you load back into adventure mode.

It completely eliminates the trial and error component and makes the grind so much more grindalicious.

I haven't played much but what do you mean by this? I thought After finishing the first level all adventure mode maps are unlocked, what else is required?

smithy is locked until mission 3, boomerang and hookshot are further in . ive only done mission 4 in legend mode and i cant get to the link's gauntlet weapon in the first map itself despite having done the adjacent map

When opponent warriors use their magic special attack or I think even regular special attack, they can't be hit at all. Usually you'll see a gray wave shoot out like when you use a special, so that's your chance to escape until it's safe.

The first combo is great too because you can attack up to 3 times in the air, and follow it up on the ground. You can even activate it after a dash by using a strong attack immediately afterwards.

Naw, you can't play certain Adventure stages without unlocking Legends only characters, like Skul Kid. I'm pretty sure a lot of characters are only unlocked in Legends (although at least you get thirteen immediately).

My only issue with the game is the grinding involved. I'm going through the Adventure Maps trying to do things, but my characters are low levelled so barely make a dent and it costs way too much to level them up
