One year since Twin Peaks: The Return aired. I'm jonesing for a Re:view with Josh and Jay, like Mike and Rich did for Star Trek. Make it happen!

Are they not bothering to review Deadpool?
Prediction time:

Rewatching their Deadpool 1 review, Jay "liked, didn't love" the first movie, while Mike seemed to have been sufficiently entertained by it, and both of them respected the risks that it took and the creativity to do something different.

I'm going to guess that Deadpool 2 scores lower for them, because it's not a risk to do R-rated anymore (it's become the popular thing to do), and it's not as groundbreaking in it's ideas since it's a sequel that does the same sort of thing that Deadpool 1 did. AND it comes right on the heels of Infinity War, a movie which took a bunch of huge risks that paid off brilliantly.

So I'm guessing that Mike and Jay are going to enjoy the movie about as much as they enjoyed the original, but they won't respect the movie as much as they respected the original.

I think there is very little that is more boring than more Star Wars/Marvel reviews. I'd rather see Show Dogs reviewed.

My prediction: they reserved their deadpool tickets with fandago and then never got them so we wont be getting a deadpool review.

I'd rather them just give us another rogue one solo review tbh. It should hold me over until TLJ plinket review

Could be a double header Half in the Bag with Deadpool 2 and Solo, maybe that's why it's been quiet about it.

I imagine it is that as well. They aren't a channel to really rush out reviews for "content." I get the feeling they don't like coming up with new contrived story lines for Half in the Bag intros/outros either.

Are they not bothering to review Deadpool?

I read on their Patreon page that they didn't want to do a HITB for a movie that was "eh ok". So they did a Re-view instead.

The first Deadpool was better, it felt fresh, I enjoyed DP2 as well, but the first felt like something new, like it took a bigger chance and that made the movie feel fresh and fun. The second one felt more like a marvel movie, even though it's rated R.

He did mention that the movie influenced his decision to make one of those of his own, didn't he?
He says that he watched Critters 5000 times when he was little, to the point where it inspired him to shoot his own little rubber puppet monster movies. The plural on "movies" and the viewings/inspiration happening "when he was little", plus this anecdote from Mike looking like it was news to Jay, means that Mike was talking about something other than Feeding Frenzy.

It is weird how Feeding Frenzy never got a single mention, but they probably mentioned it in a line that was left on RLM's cutting room floor for whatever reason. If they brought it up in conversation once, they'd have no particular reason to bring it up again in the same conversation. I figured they would have included it on the bottom rung of their hierarchy chart, since they like self-deprecating humor.

My friends and I are such red letter media meme lords every "remember this?" reference in solo we'd silently clap and mouth "you gotta clap for that!"

I watched all four Critters movies as a kid yet still don't remember any of the plot points discussed.

They need to review Prehysteria

I really hope they complain over some character motivations. Particularly how one character conveniently appears in the movie for little fucking reason besides "something happened, I'm here now it's established so let's not explain it"

Scott Grimes retweeted the re:View of Critters

https://twitter.com/ScottGrimes

A Critters crossover could maybe work as a joke on Orville. The crew lands on a planet and encounter the Crites who have escaped there. The bounty hunters also arrive and encounter redshirts who are played by Billy Zane and Leo who takes their form. The redshirts are killed by the Crites and bounty hunter leaves at the end of the episode. Scott Grimes loses a leg again. Nelix shows up as a native of the planet the Crites land on and dies horrifically.

I feel like they had no idea Scott Grimes was involved with either ER or American Dad. That dude gets work.

I can't wait until they compare Solo to the predictions they made.

But I haven't seen Solo yet though. I'll have to see if we're even planning on it. I mean we saw Rogue One.

I quite enjoyed Solo. Liked it a lot better than Rogue One. It was a lot of fun and not at all the disaster I was expecting.

Prediction: the next Star Wars Plinkett review won't focus on episode 8 or any of the spin offs. It'll be a state of Star Wars video with all the new movies, ending in an impassioned plea to fix ep9.

I would be livid if we didn't get a plinkett review of TLJ.

Additionally, these hack frauds still have no DP2/Solo half in the bag up. I'm sending them some gay cake.

I don't think Plinkett reviews are really needed anymore. And I'm pretty sure they just don't want to use the character anymore.

Maybe they don't really need to grow their channel anymore but I still want to see them do Plinkett reviews, they're still some of my most highly anticipated youtube videos for any youtube creator due to how high quality they are.

I think not needing to do a Plinkett review for every movie is part of it, but I really think it's more that Plinkett reviews are much less collaborative yet much more labor intensive than the rest of RLM's content. Plus Mike said he was considering doing a Plinkett review for that really bad horror movie during their 2017 roundup, so I don't think he's against using the character.

I still totally expect a The Last Jedi review, because I think Mike would like to get a more organized, reviewed version of his thoughts on the movie out there. But I don't expect a Rogue One review since they've beaten that horse to death, and I don't expect a Solo review either because I just doubt there'll be much to talk about.

A final, all Star Wars encapsulated Plinkett review could be a good send off for the character, as the Ep1 review is what put RLM on the map, anyway.
