I heard mixed things about Fallout 4's enhancements, but I think it looks pretty sharp and the frame-rate is solid enough

Haven't messed with mods yet, but I will when I have time

That's on my playlist for this weekend, so thanks for the update.

Anyone else hoping/dreaming for a long list of announcements for X enhanced titles for BC and One games at E3 next month?

Got a question and not sure where to ask so here goes. Anyone use a usb hub with their 1X? Will any USB3 hub work? I'll be using it to have multiple controllers connected. Some one told me it has to be powered, which I'd rather avoid.
I use a powered USB hub and it works fine. I think you need a powered hub if you want to attach several hdds/USB sticks to it (like I do).

Finally bit on the One X. $409 on ebay right now with free shipping and no tax from NewEgg.

I was hoping for under $400 but this is close enough.

I've been away from the xbox brand for a few years (since pretty much straight after I bought an OG xbox one) but saw an X for a decent price and kind of bought it on a whim (with Red Dead 2 coming up etc) and I have to say, I am blown away by it. Everything from the design to how the dash has been changed in those 2 years has impressed me beyond my expectations. I appreciate that the dash is still divisive but put me firmly in the 'love it' camp - everything just seems to be where you expect it. Little additions such as achievement leaderboards etc make a difference as well.

The design of it though, again, I find remarkable. There is literally no excuse now, for Sony to release a new console with the same oppressive jet-engine cooling system, if MS can produce a console as relatively powerful and quiet as this. I have come from being primarily a PC gamer (with a 1080ti powered system, so no slouch) and then mopping up with the PS4 for the exclusives, but since owning this console, I can see be abandoning PC gaming for multi-plats as it's just more convenient to me now, and the integration of the ecosystem around it makes it more attractive than Valve's increasingly annoying approach. I also have many times more friends on the MS systems, which again makes a difference.

Overall an incredible console for the money. Very impressed indeed.

I will send my second Xbox One X in for repair tomorrow. First one had E200-203 error and now this ones psu is failing.
It keeps turning itself off when Xbox logo pops up.

I bought my one X from GameStop at the end of November, started noticing a lot of issues with logging on live and not being able to jump between games without a soft reset. Finally took it into a Microsoft store where they just replaced it on the spot. Haven't had an issue since . Only had to take the hardware in.

The issue I think was some overheating in the rear right corner of the console. My new one doesn't even get warm.

I think! has an occasional coil wine, and often sounds up and down. But nothing too concerning. Might exchange right before the warranty is up.
can you just ask for an exchange for the console?

mine roars like a jet when im playing any enhanced game. i just know its going to kick the bucket at some point...

I didn't know this was a thing. And that avoids refurbished hardware, right?

How did this process work.

Yup, I had no idea either. I had called Microsoft support setting up a work order and thinking I would have to mail out my console when I was informed I can just take the console to any Microsoft store and they can swap it out there.
I went into the store, the guy spent more time finding a cable to plug it in. Once he powered it on he said okay, we're just going to swap it out since it would be hard to pinpoint the issue.
I was in and out and set up that same day with my new console which works so much better.

Edit- I'm not sure about the refurbished question but you can always ask.

So I've been getting back into Destiny 2 lately. I've just been putting on a podcast and grinding to higher gear and what not. I find it's a good way to wind down for me.

Anyway, is there a way to force Edge to continue playing audio from a website when I go into a game? I'd like to login to my Overcast account so that my podcasts are synced up from my phone, but everytime I start playing and go back to the game the podcast stops. :(

AC Rogue is definitely the worst BoneX game I've played so far. It looks like they remastered the god rays in 4K and left everything else on the 360 settings.

I hope Ubi treats the Far Cry 3 remaster with better careb

So for the first time really thinking about getting an XB1 X, I bought a 4k tv last week and the stuff I've seen so far in 4k has impressed me as has the hdr but with a lack of uhd drive in the ps4 pro and very little content being in 4k on virgin cable here it looks like the X is the way to go. That being said the exclusive stuff seems underwhelming from the outside of late (I do own an OG Xbox One) so what's on the horizon in the next 6 months or so?

2 weeks ago started to get E105 errors and so on.
Project Scorpio, early Sep.2017 model. Insider Alpha ring so I was confident that was only a software problem and factory reset some times.

Issues continued to rise. Clearly HD failure, errors and lockups occured saving games or downloading things (when HD was writing).
I decided to open it, trashing my warranty (Italy so EU here), not wanting to waste all that time to send it to Frankfurt, maybe getting back the same broken one only reset, or losing the Scorpio edition with an advanced replacement.

Being an IT guy I was really confident, so I upgraded to a new 2TB internal SSHD and meanwhile disassembled, I decided also to inspect the thermal paste, pads and all the heatsink build.

I got really worried when taking out the heatsink taking a glance...

5 times the thermal paste quantity needed, all spread on the chip, basically making contacts with all the others little chips around and also with the SoC frame...
Thermal pads for the rams where 80% off place, a lot of them in between the chips, making barely any contact...
The pwm chips (they are 4, and also them have thermal paste/pad), only 3 of them were making contact.. the fourth did not had any paste at all...

I summoned all my "ex pc-enthusiast" skills and fixed that disaster, replacing correctly the thermal paste on the soc, and re-placing all the thermal pads for all the ram chips and the 4 pwms.

Reassembled all, the new drive work flawlessy without any error anymore (and I'm getting a lot of errors trying to low level format on PC the original hd so clearly there was something screwed) and my XOX Scorpio runs now much quieter where before the fan was starting to get quicker (ex. PUBG main screen), now that we're heading to the summer season.

Now I'm glad to have trashed my warranty, and a lot more confident.

TL:DR beware of build and assembly quality of your early Project Scorpios....

I've had my X for a few months but playing AC Unity blows me away at how much the system improves it. Looks and runs phenomenally compared to its original launch.

Had to swap my XboxX Scorpio too. Got it sent out and back a week and a half later. Pretty sure it was HDD rel;ated as anytime I tried to download something, the machine would freeze. Couldn't even reboot it without factory reseting it. What a nightmare. Glad it's behind me tho. For now.

Maybe I should look into swapping mine too, as I'm still having issues with stuttering

Sometimes a hard reset will fix it, but when I tried that recently my console wouldn't turn on

I have a little problem at the moment.

Almost daily, after I shut my console off in the evening in power save mode, I can't turn it on with my controller anymore a few hours later because it has shut off completely. Then I have to go to the console, press the button one time, it beeps, but don't go on and only after I press it 2 or 3 times the button lights up and turns on again.

Is someone here with the same problem?

Not the same issue but mine got louder. Maybe it is the current heat we have in Germany that triggers this. To me it sounds your console has a defect. I would contact support and ask for a replacement.

We have a massive heatwave in Norway too, Gears 4 makes my X go into airplane mode, not as bad as my old PS4 Phat, but other games that are less demanding don't. Sonic Generations in 4K doesn't for example.

Mostly my X is really quiet. But there are a few games that make it pretty loud - Doom being one. The other notable game is Elite Dangerous, whenever I go near a station my X sounds like a hoover.

It really depends on the game. FarCry 5 and The Division make the most noise as they seem very taxing on the hardware. ACO for example is still silent as other games of the first wave of One X optimized games or BC catalog games. All Forzas are silent too for me.

Not sure where to ask this, but my systems have been acting really weird this week.
My 360 for instance told me I had no games on the system and I could buy some from the store, yet after a minute or so did load up my catalogue.

Now today, I boot up my Xbox 1 and my game page says I have only 62 games to play with 66 ready to install.
While it should read at least 202 games ready to play. :-/
Tried rebooting but it remains the same.
And it's not like all those removed games are Gamepass ones or anything. On the contrary, it's a mix of games I bought and Gamepass ones.
Kinda freaking out over here.

I've had that second issue happen on my Xbox One X before and it was due to my external HDD. Once I unplugged it and plugged it back in all of my games came back. Do you have an external HDD?

I can't speak for the Xbox 360 issue.

Yes I do, but I can still see a bunch of games on my internal one as well as my external 4TB one.
Already checked the storage as well. Both remain the same, just 3/4th of my catalogue that doesn't appear today.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, if its not just let me know.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good gaming monitor for the X1X? I'm looking at the Asus MG28UQ right now.

I have the 2016 50- inch Vizio P Series, and an Xbox One X. Every time that I turn on my Xbox, it fails to recognize that my TV's UHD color setting is already on and says my TV doesn't support HDR, and I have to flick off UHD Color input settings and then turn it back on again before the Xbox will recognize it. My PS4 doesn't do the same thing, so my inclination is that it's a problem on the Xbox end, but I'm just wondering if anybody else has had this problem and how they were able to overcome it?

I just got a One X. I set up the TV perfectly for 4K and HDR using many guides. I just started Gears of War 2 which was the only game I had on my account and while I know it's not in HDR, the colors look awful. Whites are overblown and blacks are crushed. I'm not using any contrast enhancers on my TV, all other content looks fine. Is there a fix to this?

It's not the Xbox, it's absolutely the Vizio; the current firmware on the Vizio's bugged. You need to turn on UHD Color on /all/ inputs to resolve this. And, in order to do so, you need to have something hooked up to each input when you turn on UHD Color. IE, hook up your Xbox to Input 1, turn on UHD color, switch to Input 2 and hook up your Xbox to that, then change to UHD Color, and so on and so on. UHD Color turns off, essentially, after turning the TV off, even though it appears to be on, but this fixes the issue until a new firmware is released.

I'm loving this console. I've never played RDR so I can't wait for the download to finish and experience it for the first time in 4k. I just hope the next update fixes the crushed blacks.

Is anybody else by chance having an issue with NBA 2K18 where it says an update is necessary, moves in the queue, but doesn't actually download? I've tried resetting the One X, cancelling the download and initializing. Nothing. Can't play the game at all due to it saying an update is needed.

If you can't install the update, you can always try offline play until you can get it to download.

Yes. Fixed it a bit by putting the hdmi range to full or limited cant remember.
Yeah, limited is where its at for most TVs. Even TVs that have the option for full may not display correctly. I also found that turning down the gamma in some BC games brings back detail, as Digital Foundry said that BC games have boosted gamma.

Just started playing Assassins creed origins. Wow it looks even better than hellblade. Freaking incredible in 4k + HDR. Will pump up the volume to test our the Atmos sound tomorrow during the day.

Also loaded up Far Cry 3, looks pretty incredible for a 360 game.

Anybody here from QC or ON with Bell Fibe TV hooked on their X ?

I always had issues with both my TV receivers (main one hooked on my Xbox while the other one is Wireless connected to the main one) displaying a blue screen with a message saying "Signal Lost". I called Bell tech support and she sis some test and then straigh up asked me if I had an Xbox one (as if it's a known issue) and then the rep asked me to turn off the Always-On feature because supposably that this is what is causing the issue. I turned the Always-On option off and since then (5-6 days) I haven't had the issue come up again. So, it seems like there is definitly a problem between the TV receiver and the console... I'm wondering if I put the Always-On feature back without the TV receiver toggled will also make the issue go away. Anyone tried this? I like the Always-On feature for many reasons...

Has anyone had the same issue with this or different TV providers?
