ok so... I have this. Am up to.. umm.. where you get the first 3 branching areas (you have to go to the three different zones). I also beat the Linkle scenario.

So my question is... what is the point of the game? I mean I get Legend Mode (i.e. the main story). but what's the draw to keep going back through scenarios, build up your badges and weapons, etc?

So like Diablo III you have the Adventure mode and Greater Rifts to keep going through.. and most ARPGs have a progression system where there is a mode where the game keeps getting harder requiring you to grind stuff out to keep up with it. Is there anything like that here?

I guess I just don't understand why I would go through actually upgrading anything.. or what the path is for doing it, based solely on Legend Mode.. though have only done like 1 stage in adventure mode so far but don't really get it.

Legend mode is just the story. There is an end.

Adventure mode is the meat and potatoes where you get the majority of your unlocks, new weapons, new characters and new scenarios.

For now, if you're going to stick with adventure mode, just upgrade your characters when you can. Everything basically opens up once you decide to pop into adventure mode.

Literally no one gives a fuck about Legends mode other than to be a tutorial / unlock characters and items / get Heart Containers / Skultulas.

Adventure mode is the real meat of the game. Giant maps with different themes, rules, and challenges for each space you explore.

I need to rethink how I'm feeding my fairies.

Oh man...you seriously need to learn how to use blocking to suss out weakpoints. You're basically going to be REQUIRED to do it.

I mean you could level via rupies in both older versions too, but yeah.

There was one particularly annoying mission in the first adventure map where, in the WiiU version, Shiek had to fight through a bunch of big and small imprisoned. They gave that to toon link (or young link, one of the two) and it made things much easier.

I have a lot of time put into the original, but thus far, the real nightmare missions don't seem to be giving me the same level of trouble that they used to.

I know, but was wondering if it was cheaper now or something. It's a LOT of characters to level up...! The cap was raised back to 250, right?
Did you do any of the later WiiU maps, like TP and MM? (Though the Toon Link one is good news. That map was awful...)

Ok, so this game is crazy fun. Just playing through legend mode first but each characters moveset is so fun and different. Game performs really well docked too. Going to have a blast with this.

It's 255 yeah.

The new Ganon's Rage mode is great for just scoring 100k in 10 minutes, and you can do things like force higher rupie collection on the Lorule map to net between 20-50k per mission you do.

It's not that it's faster, so much as there are a lot more options now. Gotta remember to create weapons that are good for farming and combine those with apothecary potions, fairy attributes and level attributes to get the most out of your farming.

That beign said, on the WiiU version, I'd usually net 350k per play session, and then dump all that into a new character at the end to get them to around level 60. You can do that a lot faster now. If you haven't, I'd suggest you do Ganon's Rage until you get sick of it (which you will), then return to the main game and not worry about money for a while.

I remember finding the second map easier overall than the first one on the 3DS version. Could always make some progress there if you find yourself struggling. You'll get some higher level weapons as well.

Going through the maps enough to unlock all the characters might be worth doing. If there's one you really like then you'll get to use them more than if you unlock them later. There's two characters on the final map so if you did everything in order then you'd barely get to use them. Toon Link also has a new weapon on the Grand Travels map which isn't too hard to get early on. Middle left of the map.

There's quite a bit more to do, not to mention you also have the DLC stages from the Wii U version, the Wind Waker stages from the 3DS version, and the Linkle stages (if you haven't been doing them as you progressed.)

I thought that seemed short, thanks!

Is there any way of seeing what adventure map grids you have already done without clicking A and going into each grid?

Do you have any advice for efficient Ganon's rage killing/farming/leveling? I've only ran the 5k and 7k ones a couple times and I'm around level 20. I don't seem to be getting many rupees, but maybe that will change once he levels up some more.

Adventure Mode is amazing! Can easily see myself playing on these maps for hours.

Also Manhandla sucks.

It's my first time playing the game and I'm loving it. It's certainly addictive, and I'm not somebody who usually plays Warriors games at all. Adventure Mode is genius.
Yeah I really like it and being able to play it looking really nice anywhere is great in my book.

Usually I try to stock up on the magic meter, I know it is called something else, and unleash my attack on Manhandla with the X strike while in that special mode.

What does it mean when it says beat enemies with Special Attack...the yellow bar?

And if it also says clear first mission do I need to get the KOs during that mission?

Okay. And if the "A" rank victory is grayed our and it says "requires search" what does that mean?
You have to use candle/compass/bombs etc on the search screen (x button) to uncover secrets to earn the reward. For example, use the compass to show which tile has the secret behind it, then use one of the other items to remove whatever is on that tile (bushes and rocks, mostly). THEN getting an A rank will give you whatever the reward is.

People should not forget you can now buy Adventure mode items once you find one, just imagine we had to grind compass/candles on Wii U, that was crazy.

Bought this on the Wii U...my wife kind of took over the Wii U and the game, so I really never got a chance to play it when I was really interested (other games came along and ate my time). Now, buying this on the Switch (same problem as before, wife loves this game), but we own our own individual Switch consoles, so I can gank the cart when I go off on a business trip.

Needless to say, the game is a blast. I find it to be well worth the 60 bucks. I can also see this taking me years to complete, if I ever do complete it: just an insane amount of content.

Well, I really like most of the Zelda games I've played, looking at you skyward sword, this looks ok. Is it just waves of mindless hordes with easy to kill mobs?

It seems like that in the opening level but the game will very quickly start throwing 3 or 4 objectives across the map at you all at once. It's basically a game of managing your time effectively.

There are def frame rate issues during cut scenes in handheld mode... the camera panning across the Eldin Caves was quite brutal

Adventure Mode is the vast bulk of the game's challenging content. The challenges on the maps ramp up, and some Adventure maps come with tricks that prevents the act of clearing them from being straight forward.

The first few adventure mode missions needed 1200 KOs for A rank, but this one I did must need 1600+. I'd rather not kill 1600 on maps when I don't need to, so It's too bad they don't show the A rank requirements before the mission. It looks like the Hyrule Warriors Legends guide is outdated with this new iteration.

A good tip for getting a load of kills is using the fairy blast near a group of enemy generals. You can get 500+ because enemies will just respawn mid animation and die immediately.

I usually end up with enough kills without trying. What sort of stage was the higher requirement for?

I think the game's brained video said anything that unlocks a weapon is typically 1600 kills

but yeah not saying what the requirements are is a pretty big oversight and it not even being added to this version is a bit on the weak side
