Smart decision by EDC to have the festival in May. June in the desert is unbearable. Also, I'm sure the campgrounds kept the hotel prices down a bit.

It's also too bad Dubstep is dead. I'm sure most of you guys are like "good riddance" but you don't hear much at all from the likes of Skrillex and Datsik anymore. Miss those artists.
I saw Skrillex play for 4 hours about two weeks ago at a tiny festival in the middle of the Arizona desert. I've had a love/hate relationship with his music, but his skill as a DJ has become something to behold. He's masterful at working a crowd with an almost limitless pool of genres.

Skrillex produces a lot behind the scenes for other artists now a day

EDC was fun. My phone, ID, sunglasses , and some cash was stolen at the bassrush pool party. That kinda sucked.

I didn't know this was here!
I went to my very first EDC LV this year, and I had a great time. I bought myself a hydration pack for Vegas and it was a lifesaver. I constantly drank water throughout the festival.

I had friends going to SMF in Tampa. I would have went but I already spent enough as is on the trip to Vegas and the hotel. Day 2 was cancelled because of the weather and there's quite a few DJs booking local places to try and keep it going.

I should be raving here in Tampa. The best show is Zomboy and Excision but its sold out:/

Been listening to EDC sets at work.

Shocked Tiesto presses the play button for 20 minutes on Avicii tracks and played Jackie Chan twice.

Afrojacks set was unreal. He just needs to yell a little less.

Claude VonStroke's set was pretty goooood. trippy af. virtual SELF .. mm yes when he dropped Ghost Voices the vibe was so gooood. 4b was wild and loco dice was ace. Finally seen REZZ and enjoyed it too! Eric Pryds was nice. Since it was my first year, i just really soaked it all in and just explored everywhere every day. The next time i go, ill probably go deeper into the crowds so i can be closer to the stage and go hard lol. I also enjoyed SaymyName and GTA's set at basspod. Gorgon City was also a highlight too! I really liked how everywhere you went, there was some type of attraction/art/thing to see/experience. Carnival square with the small rooms that housed some cool things to do was awesome as well.

what a great experience my first EDC LV was. I definitely want to do it again.

If there are any Trance heads, Ferry Corsten & DIM3NSION put out a beauty. As of right now, it's my Tune of the Year!

Wow, just found out Pogo has an unlisted video of him basically saying he "has a thorough dislike for homosexual people". That is really disappointing, what a damn shame whenever you find out someone who's art you enjoy comes out and says something like that. Fuck this guy. I'm very sorry for any music I ever shared of his on this thread and thoroughly regret doing so.

New gorillaz is goooood. With Jack Black featured in the video.

They have also announced an album for June 29th release.

EDIT: Turns out they have another track that's also pretty cool

I was listening to the lattest Gaia set and they played Psy.

I like Psy, but please, stop putting it everywhere!

I had forgotten all about this year's Defqon.1 Anthem....

Project One = Headhunterz and Wildstylez.

I'm not too big a fan of it. It's a decent Hardstyle track on it's own but it disappoints as a anthem.

Recently bought this album. I regret disregarding Burial for so long with their association with dubstep. So much more than just that.

Yeah, can't be more excited. Modesto is 45 min from my house!!!

I think this is the spot Symbiosis Festival was at years ago...

It makes sense seeing as it's way closer to the bay area. It'll be way easier to get friends to go now. Most of mine were totally against driving 6 hours to camp somewhere.

I was at Movement, best music I've ever experienced at a festival so far. Helena Hauff, DJ Stingray, Nina Kraviz, Marcell Dettman, Function, Adam X all blew me away

That Skrillex x Yellow Claw collab back then?

Turn into that with the help of DJ Snake. I think they should do a mini-album dedicated to Yellow Claw x DJ Snake.

I think I like the San Holo track more but I think Public Enemy fits more into what people want from them.

I like both of them. Also helps that I tend to like some of San Holo's work so whenever they collab it's almost guaranteed to be a good track. Yellow Claw's attempts at trying to blur the line between rap, hip hop, and/or pop just doesn't do it for me most of the time. I don't know how those tracks are doing though in regards to views. In My Room was a good hip hop track from Yellow Claw with the help of DJ Mustard.

I think they have been doing a really good job on the hip-hop side for a while now. I just tend to see their name and expect a hardcore banger.

That's good to hear at least. More power to them. I'm not going to be one of those fans that are pissy and whiny about the direction their music is going *cough* Chainsmokers*cough*.

Yes I'm still upset about the direction they took, lol.

I guess the first time I even knew that Chainsmokers was so big was seeing them at Coachella so I don't remember when they were actually a different sorta act. A lot of my favorite EDM songs that I play over and over again are essentially pop acts. Matoma/Cheat Codes featuring some random unremarkable vocalist are sometimes exactly what I end up putting on over and over.

Their concerts and sets are full of bangers, but their actual music is the complete opposite lol. Pre-DLMD was Big Room and Electro House Chainsmokers. Post-DLMD is Pop Chainsmokers.

I don't think much has changed for them in regards to their concerts and sets except for adding in more genres (which was recent by closing with Happy Hardcore).
