only collaborators this time are Snoop Dogg, Jamie Principle, and a legendary soul-based singer songwriter I'm not at liberty to discuss

Excited that we're gonna get what feels like a proper Gorillaz album this time rather than a mixtape of random artists with Damon in there somewhere.

It'll be nice to finally hear a studio version of Hollywood after all these months.

Humanz was awesome. But it didn't retain me nearly as much as Plastic Beach or Demon Days and that made me sad when I realized it.

But Ascension, Momentz, Strobelite, and Saturn Barz are freaking amazing songs.

Hughesta have you heard any songs from the album? Can't wait, I'll buy whatever super deluxe version they put up for sale the instant it goes live
nothing that hasn't been officially played live or teased on that site, unfortunately. Probably won't be a super deluxe but hopefully some b-sides see the light of day - the album's 11 tracks but I was told back in Feb that 12 were being considered, so there's definitely at least one song that didn't make the cut.

preorder stuff will happen alongside the Humility release on the 31st, can't wait.

Dope, if its an album, hopefully it's got a bit more balanced mix of Damon and guest vocals.

Confused as hell with all the Powerpuff Girls referencing that seems to be going in the teases, but wow - in.

I loved Humanz. It's second to Demon Days for me. I'm excited for whatever they've got in store.

Hell yeah, more Gorillaz is always the best. I can't believe a new whole new album/phase is coming so soon after Humanz, I think they must have recorded like 50 tracks in this time and now they're releasing them one out a time.

but is there any indication when pre-orders for the album will start? that's my only question.

I'm so ready for more Gorillaz music.
After seeing Damon live in Miami, I hope he comes back again

Yes, this is a brand new album. No, it's not B-Sides. Albarn and Hewlett pointed out that they didn't want to wait a bunch of more years for a new album because they're getting old, they're getting back on the same page and they'd rather ride the high while they still can.

This seems like a conscious effort on part of the both of them to get back to some of the simplicity of the Gorillaz. Back when the only regular collaborator they really had was Del, when it was just a cartoon band making some good music. Putting together an album the likes of Plastic Beach and Humanz is a monumental effort of hundreds of collaborators. They're a fantastic coalescence of talent but stuff like that only really comes together in a "right place / right time" kind of fashion and usually ends with way too many years between music.

If Albarn and Hewlett are in the mood right now where they want to just pump out some good music and build the world they have, I'm all for it.

Wasn't a big fan of Humanz, but honestly haven't given it nearly enough play to have much of an opinion. Liked some tracks, and more Gorillaz is definitely fine with me. It'll give me an excuse to go back and listen to humanz some more.

Humanz felt too crowded and disjointed to me. Hope this one has a stronger theme running through it, like Plastic Beach.

Hopefully this means another tour too! I missed them last year and still kick myself over it.

Humanz was one of the bigger disappointments of 2017 so I'm excited to see them move on from it so quickly.

Coming off of something like Plastic Beach made it even more disappointing.

I'll say the people who were memeing on Humanz because of the political angle (setting aside the fact that Gorillaz have always been political under the surface) will probably be disappointed with this album.

Damon has gone on record saying that it's going to be a pretty personal and politically charged album, as a lot of his feelings on things like Brexit shine through much of the material that's going to be on here.

Although, granted, given Damon's minimalist way of writing lyrics it's likely bound to be more "subtle" than Vince Staples or Pusha T's openly name dropping of Obama / Trump.

Huh, different tastes I guess. Humanz left me wanting more guest singers and less of Damon. 2D's vocal segments were the worst part of some of the best songs on the album.

Eager to see what this ends up being, but yeah, expecting singles.
lmao, at that point just listen to whatever other rap album other than gorillaz. Humans was waaaay overstuffed with features.

Humanz was great and I'm glad Gorillaz continues to serve up something unexpected. A lot of people called Humanz an attempt to grasp at what's popular today, but I'm not sure if I completely agree. That album was weird and wonderful.

I want to dance to this at a ball.
