This dragon remnant thing is bullshit. I had no idea what the hell it was and never saw it in the original dark souls, and it summons some guy with infinite magic spam that has no cooldown or anything? Dumbest bullshit I have seen. Didn't even tell me it was an invader because it was a white summon sign.
Your issue has nothing to do with the Dragon Remnant. Path of the Dragon is just a 1v1 PvP covenant. It just happens that the guy you summoned was possibly a cheater or hacker or something (not sure what "infinite magic spam with no cooldown" means here but it doesn't sound like anything legit in the game), which sucks.

But yeah, don't summon dragon signs unless you're ready to duel someone haha. For coop just summon white and gold signs.

TBF, Pyro is like easy mode.

Sorc is a lot harder early on.

Good thing my Int build, starts off as Pyro.

In case some weren't aware, pyromancy doesn't scale with int (or faith or any other stat) at all in this game. The only way to boost your pyromancy attack power is to upgrade your pyro glove, and to wear the Crown of Dusk (I forgot if the Bellowing Dragoncrest ring works for pyromancies in this one, I think it does but not sure).

Anybody? In DS2 I used a bastard sword for a while until getting my claymore.
I personally prefer the longsword moveset, but it's up to you. I think the Claymore has a similar moveset as the bastard sword and has better reach and power so I'd recommend that one instead. You can get the claymore already,
on the drake bridge early on

increased textures and resolution and Darkroot Garden still looks awful from a visual standpoint...foliage looks plastic and textures look really bad

Shit, I rested at the bonfire so every enemy will be back if I backtrack and I have 6000 souls. Should I just level up with them and run back for the claymore?

You can also try the Claymore and the Balder Sword both are good weapons and Balder is a hidden gem of a sword. Or go easy mode and grab the Zwei

Hmmm he doesn't seem to be selling those, and I need a better weapon to fight the big asshole in the church. I have shards to upgrade but don't know if shards are better spent on bastard or long.

Why are people so try hard in Undead burg lol.

Been doing co op at level 20 ish. And ran into a guy with Gold tracer, poison knives and dung pie. Brah do you really need all that to kill someone who is fighting their second boss?

Also ran into a Giant dad. 90% sure that one is a cheater. Can you even get that set up rolling around level 20ish and not fat roll?

Can someone gift a fellow era member with a steam copy with PtD discount price? I'll forward $20 steam gc for this, of course.

You can kill pinwheel right at the start but finding a giant dad that early is....improbable

The Zwei is on the graveyard, the Claymore is on the bridge on a corpse and the balder sword drops from balder knights on the church

So PvP is the worst thing ever right?

I barely ever reverse hollowing so it was a surprise when I got an invasion in Oolacile after kindling. The guy just kept magically sliding behind me and "nothing personal kid" backstabbing me into oblivion.

I'm playing with the Great Club because quick dex weapons are easy mode. Slow weapons increase the difficulty of the game by about 200% if I'm being honest, or perhaps I'm just not used to them. Getting to Anor Londo was quite the challenge, but I like it this way.

My estus is at +4. Is it worth killing
the 2 npc's at the warp points (spider lady sister and npc at ando lando) for additional estus as I won't be able to use the bonfire from there?

Finally got a balder sword and decided to head back to the
undead asylum to kill the stray demon.
Black knight that was there also dropped a bk sword, which was my main in the original. Good times.

I think I know why the Switch version has been delayed. They're gonna have to do something how the persistent online works with sleep mode for a portable system

This is my biggest beef Souls games. They weren't designed with sleep modes in mind.

Just make it quit to menu where you log in before loading your game. Not the home screen.

With PS4 rest mode and BB you had to do this manually anyways in-order to not glitch out the online even though technically it shouldn't.

Anyone else getting a random stutter/hitch every once in awhile on PC? It'll drop from 60fps down to around 40 for a moment. It seems to coincide with being near possible loading zones, so I loaded up afterburner and am noticing the game is pretty consistently at around 7150MB of system memory and 1200MB of VRAM. It seems like it's having to swap data out instead of keeping it in memory or something. Weird that it doesn't utilize more when I've got 4GB of VRAM and 16GB of system memory, but I assume that's because of the 8GB shared memory on the consoles or something. I'm considering installing it to my SSD to see if that helps...

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but having a boss with a combo-attack like Manus really rubs me the wrong way. It just feels, I dunno... self-indulgent? In a game that otherwise is pretty fair and subdued. Like the game is hard, but it never rubs it in your face like it does with that attack.

Like in a character action game like Bayonetta or something it would be cool because the player can pull something like that off. But here it feels like the devs got high on the whole "prepare to die" thing and wanted to show off.

I think it's pretty fair all things considered. It takes a lot of practice and/or preparation to deal with, but it's not bad. Manus is meant to be one of the most difficult PVE encounters in the game and a major lore character. I have a much bigger problem with the crazy tracking on DS2 enemies and the use of unnatural delayed attacks in DS3 (I love both games btw, but those games I think are much more representative of them drinking the prepare to die kool-aid).

Yes, they do from my experience running a SL1 Blue Cov and bringing the hurt.

They suck at combat, which is why they resort to trolling low level PvE players for their jollys.

Just beat O+S for the millionth time. Still one of my favorite fights of all time, it is always so exciting.

I forget their names, but there's a similar fight in the new GoW where you fight two brothers at the same time that I think the devs made as a homage to O+S, and its insane how much worse it is on every level.

Manus feels like a DS3 or Bloodborne boss forced into DS1 (fitting, since he's basically Cleric Beast in design). By which I mean he feels waaaay too fuckin fast to deal with as a clunky DS1 dudebro who controls like a tank. Artorias got close to the edge with this, but felt just fair enough to deal with since even at mid-roll you can dodge his attacks. Here it just feels like a tossup.

Also Sif is absolutely useless in that fight. It's cool that they have him there in terms of lore but you'd think after fighting him as an adult he'd be able to do literally anything other than just stand there and take hits as a pup.

What's the most unwieldy STR weapon on this game? The clunkiest/slowest to use. Smough's hammer? Dragon tooth?

The depth of field seems to be way more overdone in the Painted World of Ariamis than it does anywhere else.

I never really noticed this on PS3 as everything was blurry anyway.

So is it weird that I beat Manus on my first try on my first playthrough? I had plenty of trouble with some other bosses.

Eh, it's never been a problem for me. My favorite build for souls is Zwei+15 and Silver Knight Shield with medium armor/mid-roll, so I usually just block and whomp. Have to pump the block button between swings to regen enough stamina to not get crushed, but otherwise it's a viable strategy. I've played builds based on every class though, and the only one I ever remember having trouble with was actually a sorcerer because of cast times. My SL1 run went fine against him as well...Four Kings was way harder for some reason on that character. Dunno, guess I'm just weird. To each their own I suppose.

I do agree about Sif though...not much point other than to draw aggro, and I seem to have terrible luck and die every time I've summoned Sif anyway lol.

Man I fucking hate the Gargoyles.

Not only are they bullshit but the run to them is bullshit. You're railroaded through a Balder Knight whose got a height advantage on you in a tiny corridor and then you have a room of a million hollows where one is guaranteed to hit you. Wanna summon Sunbro? Then you HAVE to kill them all because they follow you up the two ladders.

If it matters to anybody, I'm getting much better performance with the newest nvidia graphics driver on my laptop. I can even get 4k60 with few drops or slowdown. Before from the driver from earlier this month I was getting some slowdown at1080p.

As an aside, what's up with all the banding in this version of the game? In DSfix you could fix this by overriding the texture filtering. Is there no way fix this in the remastered version? Look at the sky and notice all the lines in the sky in the upper left corner.
