I did a survivor activity to help clear out a area with two people. I cleared out the are, but one died and now I'm just vaguely tasked with keeping the other person alive. What am I supposed to do?

It feels it becomes "normal" for my coop buddies to quit and rejoin games. Hopefully we get a patch sometimes next week.

I exiled a character on my last session but he is still in the community with the Exile button changed to "Cancel exile", does he get out after the day is over?

Okay this has happened twice now so ya'll might wanna watch out for it:

I drive past a bloater on the road and they detonate then when I come back to the road after scavenging when I drive over where they died my car is suddenly filled with poison gas until I get out. Really sucks.

Since I lost my powerhouse guy I have been scouting for new members, but I'd like to keep the three friendly enclaves I have. Also grabbing one of those, disbanding their enclave, and then realize that the person sucks due to traits would be terrible.
So I prioritize every random survivor activity but it took some time until I found one that wanted to join. He was holed up in a house and my task was to keep him safe (with a timer) but I swear there were ~50 zombies coming at us at once! The guy I was playing had just taken out a plague heart nearby and had some plague buildup already, so when hordes of blood zombies arrived I had trouble keeping my guy from getting a full infection. Had to rush out and hide in my car and thought I would fail because there were like 10 zombies munching on the guy I was supposed to protect when I ran out. I started honking but only one zombie came out. Sounded like the guy went down but came up again. Then the time was up and it stopped spawning new zombies, so I went in to clear the place out and was surprised to see that the guy had made it.

He gave me a rucksack reward that I got to pick (love those!) and then he asked to join. So I checked his stats and he had 7 out of 114 HP! Ouch! Close call there. But his stamina and health stats were normal so no bad trait affecting those at least. He had Driving as a skill which would be nice. So I brought him home... and saw that one of his traits was that he picks fights. Nope, nu-uh, get out. I have a perfect community here and you will not be allowed here if you can't behave.
So in the end I grabbed his weapons and exiled him. Yes, with no weapons and 7 HP. Good luck!

invisible bloaters or bloater bombs suck!
Yeah I make sure to never get into a car with low HP. Always gotta be prepared to lose some health before you can jump out of the car when it happens.

I guess you gonna have to take that bum to court to make him get out.

Me needs water for my community but I've already built a workshop and a shooting range.

Does anyone know where I can find an outpost that supplies water? I'm in the plateau btw.

My base status is "desperate" :( what are my options to increase their morale?
If you go to the community menu and pick show details on a character, you can mark the top box in the menu that comes up on the right hand. There you can see what gives them + and - morale. For example, my community has + for trusted friends, a character that is a practical joker, that they have electric light and purified water for example. In my community I basically only get - from not clearing out infections before they start complaining but it can be stuff like negative community members (with bad traits), fights due to low morale and missing specific buildings that people want. One of mine gets mad if we don't have a watchtower for example.

It feels it becomes "normal" for my coop buddies to quit and rejoin games. Hopefully we get a patch sometimes next week.

You need to grab a character and go speak to him to actually tell him that you want him to go.

Is there a reason why you would exile a character other then their traits and skills being bad?

I started a follower quest, where they warn you to not switch characters.

The game ceashed, I reloaded and the quest is gone. Is it gone forever?

Holy shit.... guess I better start saving up influence then.

Thanks!
It's 1000 apparently. I was curious so I checked one out. Look for stuff like this:

Influence tips: Loot homes and stores for luxury items and sell them to all the friendlies you find. You'll get to 1000 in no time!

i'm so pissed my initial crew rolled with a -75% xp to mechanics AND a -50% to mechanics. I still don't have a flipping autoshop.

Oops. I mixed it up with new home base or something.
Oh no worries! My post wasn't meant as "that person is WRONG" or anything, just wanted to check it out for myself and show it :)
Knew they existed but had not checked the cost before. Good to know for future playthroughs when I don't have the option to use what I use now (solar power and a build in well).

I forced vsync off in the NVCP and limit frame rate with Afterburner. Runs pretty smooth for me with a 1070 at 1440p max details.
I'll try that, I think it's less the game dropping very low and more it going a few fps below 60 and then the double buffering kicks in. Or maybe there's something going on with my performance, it's hard to say.

Someone was asking earlier what it takes to get a mod that lets you have an extra outpost. I'm able to make it at the built-in machine shop at the distillery and it takes: Computer knowledge, Power, 5 scraps of circuitry, 150 parts

Did you talk to the person you marked for exile? Just marking them for exile won't kick them out.

Jesus I just looted a library hoping for some textbooks on electricity or computers, and literally found 5 cooking textbooks and nothing else. And I already have a survivor with the cooking skill.

I think I will be dropping this for a bit. It's just a chore to try to extract fun from this game in this sorry ass state. You can see it was not tested.
* Your flashlight will randomly not work anymore.
* Followers will turn invisible. You cant dismiss them, or change to another.
* The Mysterious Trader won't spawn.
* If you execute an infected survivor while you have your inventory full, the character will pull out of nowhere a pistol and shoot it. The pistol will overwrite your current gun and it will disappear from the face of the earth. Had my Modded Shotgun gone like that.
* Enclaves will beg for items that are inside their base. This is so stupid.
* Invisible bloaters.
* Some zombies spawn by triggers right in front of you. If you fail a quick search, it will spawn a zombie outside the building, rather than attract one near. It doesn't matter if you clear a building, failing a quick search will spawn a zombie.

Sorry for the rant, had to vent for a bit. This game did not deserved to be launched in this state. With polish and some feature revisions, it could have been a really good survival game.

If anyone is looking for a discount on the game; You can redeem 7500 Microsoft reward points for a $10 MS store credit. Also, the Microsoft rewards site will give you 6500 points after you purchase the game.

Wtf just happened. I am playing on the Xbox and I joined a multiplayer game as a volunteer for the first time. Got in the car with a group of 2 other members. We go to a blood plague site and we destroy it. As we are going outside, the leader of the party starts to drop dozens of inventory. Dozens of items all around him.

When you walk up to those items, it will say something like 999 Gas Tanks or various sets of ammo. Seriously the floor was littered with ammo for so many different guns. As I was inspecting these items, fully intending to at least pick up some free ammo (I was desperate and thinking about my family back home) - the game alerted me that the host disconnected.

So yeah, was this just another bug I experienced? Or are people just showing off at this point? I feel like I am so behind if others are just throwing away ass loads of ammo away for no reason.

Ohnooo, I didn't realize for just how long my allied enclave had begged me for help and I also didn't realize which one it was. It was the one giving me the huge morale boost as ally reward, and they just left me. Ouch! Morale still sits at cheerful but it was a nice safety net to have.
Just another note to write to myself for the next playthrough: Do quests for the most important enclave asap.

Unlike traders, they don't have visible time limit.
Sometimes I'd be in the middle of clearing infestation and they announced they've left the map. Which sucks!

Gonna further echo my opinion that other Enclaves are a pain in the ass. How have they been surviving this long if they constantly beg for shit.

Bloaters seem like such a joke, lying all Snorlax-like on the ground most of the time.

But... don't let them actually attack. They do this weirdly quick charge thing and then explode; it's real bad. And then you get swarmed by all the zombies attracted to the noise. Urrrghhhh.

Ugh, messed up another enclave. They asked me for help and the quest ended up being a 3 min defense event with hordes, screamers and a juggernaut. They died and in the end it was just a huge waste of resources. I need to play something else to calm down now, haha! Then I think I should just try to rush to the end before anything else bad happens.:P

Yes. So much yes :D
You can get amazing bonuses from them tho.

Found a trader who had a computers book and the signal attena upgrade (+1 outpost.) I'm sure I'm about to get attacked by 5 juggernauts to make up for my luck.

Be careful if you ever have to remove it. It will remove the last outpost slot, not an empty slot, so you can lose a good outpost while keeping the unoccupied one.

Is there anyone not getting that white horizontal line on PC? Do I need the latest drivers or something?
