Another thing I spotted.

Bulbasaur got it's standard movelist it's had from the 4th Generation onwards with Take Down at level 15

Pikachu however has a bizarre movelist, not having Thunder Wave (Level 9) which it had from the originals, and then is also missing (Depending on your reference of choice)

Yellow:
Tail Whip (Level 6)
Double Team (Level 15)

Black/White:
Electroball (Level 18)

X/Y and Onwards:
Play Nice (Level 7)

...Are they that committed to being exclusively Gen 1 that they can't even show moves that came after the first generation? I don't know why it's only 3 moves, Thunder Wave really should be there as well.

As silly as it sounds, that stuff just may not be finalized yet. Reminds me of a notiorious example during Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire, where we got a screen of Blaziken using Ice Punch. Blaziken doesn't actually learn Ice Punch lol

I've been guessing that Pikachu/Eevee's dress up will affect stats and moves. I wouldn't be shocked if you get this before Gym 1, since Brock will otherwise be a bit of a hassle. If that's the case, they might be purposefully hiding it, since that screenshot is from after Brock.

I haven't played Pokémon since red/blue years ago, but I`ll probably play the shit out of Let's go with gf. I am glad they removed the wild random Pokemon encounters. Imo that was/is an outdated mechanic. If you had the Pokemon you wanted already, always having that random loading screen was just annoying af, especially in caves. That said, I kinda get the disappointment with the catching mechanic, but I'll need to see some gameplay first before making my final decision.

Also, I dont get why some people argue that some sort of mystery is gone because of no random wild battles, if anything this change makes the overworld much more interesting and more like an authentic Pokemon world. I'll put it this way: if Gamefreak had the hardware resources of today before 1998 the random wild battles probably would have never even existed.

They might still be tweaking the learn sets.
PoGo has gen 7 moves.
It also has Gen 2 and 3 Pokemon....

I'm really surprised they didn't save this for E3. Maybe because they expected a backlash from core Poke fans. I don't know, but this game looks like its gonna be a huge hit.

As one of the millions who were driven nuts by Go on the phone, the fact this links up with the game and lets you transfer Pokemon you already caught is fucking genius.

The lack of random battles is eh, not a big loss as long as there are other ways to fight and train. I am totally cool with a remake of yellow, as that's about where I dropped off the Poke train as a kid.

I think this game will sell bonkers and cause a huge revival of Go (although probably short lived). It's not the Pokemon game most were dreaming of, but it will cause a frenzy again.

There was no better way he could have said that.

I read that they look at Let's GO as the home version of Pokemon. They have been specific to say that 2019 is the handheld core version we are used to. I'm sure it's going to be a big game.

Let's GO feels like its going to be a OG game with the modern interface. By them keeping it simple 151 then they can work more efficiently to create something.

I would be very interested to here if this game has DLC plans

There will probably be even more strategy. Just different. There wasn't much bwfor really
honestly if they kept the ball throwing mechanic but still made gave us wild pokemon battles for the gen 8 games would be best of both worlds.

in the press conference they showed that the pokemon actually move around and you have to aim. You can also throw the ball underhand and angle it/curve ball etc and time your throws right to get the "Great!" or "Excellent!" throws which increases capture rate, or at least it does in Go.

Or the video isn't final like it says at the beginning of the trailer and they're still tweaking this stuff.

Welcome to the world of marketing lmfao. This is and how it always will be. It works too.

you mean wealthy businessmen and executives aren't a good representative for altruism?
The only thing I can see making a significant upheaval at GF is if there was something like what Fortnite is to PubG that challenges their dominance of concept

Why continue to try so hard to stay upset, despite the fact that the games you want are coming next year anyway?

Maybe they really wanted Gen8 to be rushed out with 20 new Pokemon and 3 finished Gyms/Trials

I could see no DLC but if it does well, we'll get a gen 2 inspired sequel in 2020 after the "core handheld" game in 2019.

I've been out of the loop all day today - have we gotten any new information about stats/leveling or is it all still a mess of misinformation we need to wait on? I'm assuming the QA has been totally dissected by now and we're in speculation territory for the time being.

Also, any word on if the game has been pre-ordering well? I saw something about France earlier, but I didn't really look at it.

I think it watching reactions to the trailer has told me anything, co-op needs to be a standard feature of Pokemon games going forward. They've shown it's possible so I don't see why it would be different going forward other than GF sometimes introducing and then removing features cause reasons

Pathetic when they're positioning it as a mobile accessory too. We now have a current gen controller with a worse battery life than the DS4.

Does the pokeball have more than one button? Id imagine you can click the joystick and shake it so thats 3. Would be cool if there's a couple more and you could use it as a joycon for other games.

So are we not able to play this with the pro controller? I havent seen any sort of confirmation on this. A bit sad if we can't, that's a really great controller.

No real updates since yesterday other than some websites clarifying that you can trade over WiFi/Online (Though everything around this is super unclear and confusing).
As for preorders I've personally managed to snag a good deal on both the game and the Pokeball Plus here in Spain so I imagine they must up for most territories.

Becuase I was expecting something this year and not late 2019 but I know game development is hard and wanted something to fell the gap and this is not it. I'll not post anymore on this topic not until reviews or full game details and sorry for being negative of something other people might enjoy.

I wonder if we'll be gifted all 3 original starters like in Yellow or if we'll have to pick one... As long as I have early access to Bulbasaur all will be well.

Also, even if you were right, Go moved on from the first 151 almost immediately.
A year isn't immediately. Plus it had died down incredibly by the time baby Pokemon started showing up.
Another thing I spotted.

Every remake changes learnsets (see Metal Claw Charmander in FRLG). Also Cloyster uses Shell Smash later on, so moves go up to at least gen 5.

Targeting Pokemon Go fans is understandable, but this being the home version of Pokemon doesn't make sense to me after we just got Monster Hunter World which was the home version of Monster Hunter.

But my thoughts are Pokemon is already simple enough, the complex stuff is optional. I don't think it's necessary to lower it as much as they did. It's almost like they're aiming only for Pokemon Go fans when they could try to appease everyone (but I'm sure it will sell well regardless).

I dont know why it needs to be said that those developers are not at all similar. If Nintendo did an entirely inhouse pokemon spinoff then I might expect something comparable to Mario and Zelda in terms of production values.

So can we have like 2 files? So I could battle my Pokemon in local co op against my son? That would be cool at least... I always wanted to battle him in some Pokémon game without buyin Pokemon stadium for 64. We only had one 3ds in the house.
