Are there games you want to play, but just don't find the time? Setting a target might help.

The challenge is to complete three (or more) games a month.

It doesn't matter how long or short the games are, or if you're near the end already. If it's unclear if something counts as a finished game, you should go with your own judgment. There aren't any hard rules.

Please post the games you hope to finish, but also share your successes, setbacks and impressions. :)

I finished:
The Sarajevo Six campaign in Hitman 2016: Finished on the 1st. This was a campaign of six missions that was exclusive to the PS4 version. I wondered if it would be legitimate to count this campaign as a game, after I have finished (and in previous months/years, counted) both Season 1 and the Patient Zero campaigns. But trying out the final mission here shows how difficult it is, and I'm on the side of counting it separately. I tried it a bunch of times in the past weeks, and finally succeeded today. It was one of the best hits in the game.
TeenAgent: Finished on the 24th. Puzzles started off fairly sensibly but got absurd and pixel hunty towards the middle. I turned to a walkthrough from there.
Thirty Flights of Loving: Finished on the 27th. It probably lost a little of its effectiveness because I had played Virginia before this, which I wondered while playing this whether it was made by the same developers (it wasn't). I enjoyed it.

I really don't know what I'll play but it might be:
Final Fantasy III: The famicom game. It's showing its age currently, after earlier impressions being more positive. I got the ship. This is the furthest I've gotten in any version of the game.
Shining Force I: I got really far into the second game years ago, but didn't get far into the first game. I'm currently at the start of chapter 2.

Mail service has been really disappointing to me on May, so some of my planned games got pushed to this month.
  • Nier - Already started and really enjoying.
  • Yakuza 3 - should arrive soon.
  • Detroit Become Human - should arrive soon.
  • Vampyr - if I have time/mail fuck up again.

Should get a couple done this month planning on:

  • Tekken 7 (just finishing up the platinum trophies)
  • Burnout Paradise Remastered
  • Ni No Kuni 2
Depending on time this month I will likely play Far Cry 5 and AC: Origins DLC as well.

My gaming is a mess right now, been juggling like 5 games at the same time.

Beaten:

Mafia 2: Joe's Adventure (PS3) - Dissapointed with this after hearing so well about this DLC. Did not enjoy the arcade style missions.

Watch_Dogs 2 (PS4) - Expected more from the good word, didn't like the story and cast that much, and gameplay got old rather quick. I liked how you could use the drones to solve tasks thoo.

Watch_Dogs 2: Human Conditions (PS4) - DLC, I liked the message behind the missions, it's interesting to explore the ethics of the modern technology, since I,m working in that field myself. But the missions were too much of the same

Watch_Dogs 2: No Compromise (PS4) - DLC, Added absolutely nothing to the game for me.

Earthlock (PS4) - Been wanting a scandinavian med jRPG for a long time. Just wish they had drewn more from scandinavian folklore and that they could have balanced the bosses a bit better felt like I had to grind and ended up too strong in the end.

Left to complete:

None but still have two remaining of the games I was juggling, I dropped one but might pick it up again after summer.

Sure, let's do this! Plan is to get platinum trophy in each:
  • The Order: 1886 - From start
  • Lara Croft GO - From start
  • Day of the Tentacle Remastered - From start
  • Burnout Paradise Remastered - I'm about half way through the trophies
  • Tera - I just have some dungeons to clear for platinum

OK, this might be harder now that I've finished some immediate games I wanted to play.

Let's do:

Prey (2017) - I'm about 7 hours in. Really enjoying it.
A Hat in Time - still in he first world. Loving this.
Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology - just started.

Pff I JUST beat God of War and I've been playing it exclusively since launch. I just don't have the time. I just fired up Call of Duty WW2 finally but I'm not sure how long I'll last, this game is kinda shitty.

This month I'll try to beat:

Assassin's Creed: Revelations - liked it much more than when I played it few years ago. It was an interesting experience. There were some things that really annoyed me - Desmond missions and tower defence sequences were the weakest link, luckily you can lock them quite early in the game. Ending was amazing, though.
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit - Before the Storm was a fantastic extension of Life is Strange series, Captain Spirit is a short adventure in a similar tone to a Farewell DLC. It's focused on a small moments, but it also features scenes that were very emotional. I liked it.
God of War III Remastered - it is the weakest game out of the original trilogy. God of War III got the scope, but it was very lacking in terms of story. Nevertheless, playing it was a good reminder how angry and full of rage Kratos was in his prime days. I'm ready to play the next one.
God of War - nope, I will probably finish that in July.

Gonna try to finish Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past this month.

After that, i'll be playing:

- Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
- Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

Gotta finish up on the rest of the Dragon Quest games on my vacation this month before XI releases in September.

Summer has officially started in my household, so my gaming time is severely limited. I would feel amazingly accomplished if I could beat:

- Zelda: BotW (midway through; stalled out when I was tasked with fetch quests)
- God of War
- Moss

  • Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age - finished the tomb of raithwall, still a long way to go.
  • Radiant Historia - Chapter 3
  • Thinking of playing an open world AAA game, like AC Origins or Mad Max.
  • Or maybe DQ Heroes, just to turn off my brain and button mash my way through. I hope my save file is still in tact.

  • God of War - I've been playing it since late May, so I'll finish it sometime in early June - done
  • Detroit: Become Human - done
  • Unmechanical - I already started it, but fell by the wayside once GoW came out.
Edit:

I finally finished and got the Platinum in GoW. That was really long and I was getting burned out upgrading armors farming the Muspelheim and Niflheim areas.

Detroit was excellent, probably around 11 hours. Can't wait to play again sometime in the future with the different choices.

I lost interest in Unmechanical, so I went ahead and played Bioshock Infinite (PS4). Still love that game. I'll probably do the Burial at Sea DLCs in July.

  • Nioh (PS4) - not happening, I've spent about 35 hours on completing 50% of the game.
  • Shadows of the Damned (X360) - probably have another 2-3 hours to go.
  • LA Noire (PS4) - 30% done, really enjoying it.

While I doubt I'll get it finished in June, I'd like to finally start Horizon. Also, Kingdom Hearts REchained
Riku
which I should be able to finish. I'd like both done by August when I predict I'll get addicted to Yakuza 3 again via the remaster and play that all month.

Additional June backlog stuff that I should finish:

Owl Boy (I think I'm near the end of the game now)
Thumper (midway through level 6, and its getting tough now! No chance am I S ranking these levels)
Little Nemo (as part of my continued Capcom playthrough)

Haven't posted in one of these threads in a while :(. Going to put down 3 games here, and I think it might be a stretch to complete them but we'll see how it goes.

Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS3) - Already partway through this (I think I'm about halfway) and it shouldn't require too much to finish it. I might be able to clear it out in a day if I get engrossed - two otherwise.

Titanfall 2 (PS4) - Started this not long ago and it seems quite fun. Really pretty too. Hopefully the campaign will live up to the high praise it's been given, but it's still too early to tell on that count.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (PS Vita) - I'd started this a while ago but lost the will to continue after making a mistake (there's a particular trophy I want) and didn't have any saves I could go back to. I'm now committing to starting it again, and remembering why I'd enjoyed it so much. It feels like my kind of game - a slow burn that takes its time to weave a long, complex, and intricate story with great characters. Just need to push through the parts I'd played already (I got to the start of Chapter 2) but hopefully that won't be too difficult to do.

I am going to try to complete Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Okami HD and Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. I bought all of them in recent PSN sales but have only just started playing Valkyria Chronicles. I feel pretty good about playing through Okami and Valkyria Chronicles but am not 100% certain I am going to stick with Dragon's Dogma as my third game rather than anything else in my backlog but we will see how that pans out.

Assassin's Creed Origins - PC. I'm only about 10 or so hours in
Deus Ex MD - System Rift DLC. I know it's not very long so I should be able to complete it easily
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

I think I'm low rolling it this month:
  • Hyper Light Drifter
  • Doneky Kong Country Tropical Freeze
  • Metroid: Samus Returns
  • Fallout 1
Seems pretty easy, given how much I play, but I don't want to push myself too hard this month anyway.
I should have enough time left to finish few other things as well or start or working on a big RPG or something.

Huh maybe I should get in on this? Beat Nier Automata in May and it would be nice to keep the ball rolling.

I kept a couple of things installed on my PC so maybe I'll go with:

Titanfall 2 campaign: Couple of missions in already, pretty cool game so far.

Valiant Hearts: Stopped playing this a while ago maybe halfway through but kept it installed since it always seemed super worth finishing, for the feels.

And maybe....Deus Ex MD? How long is that? I enjoyed HR but haven't really played this one past the prologue since my GPU wasn't really up for it back then but I should be good now.

God Of War - can't believe I haven't finished this, but life...
Resident Evil 7 - beat the base game, but never played the DLC
Inside - something short so getting through 3 games is a realistic possibility

Well, Star Wars is already done. That was my easy pick for the month as I knew the campaign was pretty short. I'm about 20 hours into Dark Souls III (been playing it on and off over the last few months), so I'm really hoping I'll be able to finally finish it.
  • Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017)
  • Dark Souls III
  • PixelJunk Monsters 2

Beat Dark Souls during E3 week. I stopped playing PixelJunk Monsters 2 and removed it from my list. I'm going to wait on the patch that should add a better camera before investing any more time into it. Instead I was able to finally finish off The Witcher 3 as my third game. Moving onto the two expansions and playing some smaller games on Switch like Yoku's Island Express and Splatoon DLC in the meantime.
  • Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017)
  • Dark Souls III
  • The Witcher 3

story and loads of MP

  • Hollow Knight - Switch
LORD HAVE MERCY . About 3 hours into this . Highly recommended so far and at ÂŁ10.99 an absolute steal.

  • Rocket League - Switch
Can never get bored of this , when I want to play for a short session (1-2 games takes around 10-15 mins ) and come out relatively satisfied.

Eagerly awaiting pocket rumble , octopath and Sonic plus next month

  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
  • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Turns out if I don't play long as RPG's I actually get a lot of stuff done.
I mostly tried to clear my Wii U library asap since my gf wanted to borrow it.

HLD is pretty good, but the shotgun pretty much breaks the game.
DKC:TF is also great, but the K levels are such a pain. Is a single checkpoint really too much to ask for?
M:SR was rather underwelming. It's still fine, but it's not even close to game such as Super Metorid.
F1 is a game that's a lot more fun to read about than play. The main villain is pretty awesome, though.
P3 is probably my favorite game in the series, but the end boss was pretty annoying.
CT is a really fun puzzle game, but I didn't bother doing everything.
Finally KatRC was a lot of fun, but felt a bit repetitive at time.

I don't intend to finish any more games this month, instead I will focus on to getting into Pillars 2 and Zelda BOTW.

In June I finished:

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
Mega Man 1-6
Danganronpa V3

8 short games and a huge one(Dangan V3 took me 34 hours).

Good month.

Far Cry 5: Hours of Darkness dlc
Final Fantasy 6
Streets of Rage
Madden NFL 18 Long shot mode
Phantasy Star 2
Life is Strange
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit
Fallout 3

8 games this month although 4 of them were 5 hours or less so that helped and 2 others, Fallout 3 and Life is Strange is me going back and finishing up the playthrough after a little break.

Quite a lot this month, as I got somewhat freed up through completing FFX2. So, to run through the win-list:

Final Fantasy X-2: So I mentioned last month that I was playing with the intent of doing a single 100% runthrough, using a spoiler-free checklist for assistance. What I didn't realise is that doing that in turn requires completing the bonus dungeon with some deeply unpleasant superbosses buried within! As I've mentioned repeatedly in the past, my natural playtime is inherently a bit grindy, so I was easily L99 by the end of the game, with many dresspheres maximised, which at least gave me the tools I needed to succeed, but even then there were a fair few wipes, and the last few levels of the dungeon were very much saving at every possible juncture that gave a little progress!

As a game it's... interesting. It's an almighty mess, but I do rather like some of the ideas in it. Unfortunately, though, said ideas are often not fully-realised, and a number of other ones don't really feel like they belong in this game. I think there's perhaps a great game buried in the whole commsphere surveillance thing, for instance, but here it's a bit halfhearted and incomplete, and mainly serves to make Chapter 4 a ton of watching with very little direct activity.

Still, it's out of the way, and I can finally start to think about getting on to FFXII, which I've been looking forward to since... well, since I got bogged down in FFX(1) back on the PS2, but my utter bloodymindedness refused to let me play parts of the series out of order.

Read Between The Lines: As mentioned last month: Largely a quick mobile filler, but it's Dingbats, and I've often been rather fond of those. It's imperfect: There's a number of repeated ideas on a theme rather than original ways of presenting phrases, and I'm not entirely satisfied that every puzzle 'plays fair' in how it expresses the answer, but as a filler, I have few complaints

Super Mario Run: Started this. I'm rather enjoying it as a perfectly servicable autorunner, although the economy seems a bit screwy given I seem to perpetually be on or around the cap on Toad Rally tickets - I was getting into a rut of feeling I constantly had to play the parts of the game that consume them rather than continuing with the main Tour mode. Once I overcame that and played in a more freeform fashion, I'm finding it very enjoyable.

Pinball Arcade (Central Park): In so far as Pinball can be 'completed', anyway; I've finished all ten goals (mini-achievements) on the table plus got #1 on the local highscores. I have largely the same criticisms as I specified last month, but as a historical artifact, it's a rather interesting table. I've purchased all currently-available sets now (beating the clock before Williams ones were removed), so I now have quite an archive; these may be cropping up on occasion, probably favouring the older tables.

Yoku's Island Express: The other avenue by which Pinball's making an impact, this game is glorious; marrying pinball and a metroidvania is, in hindsight, a pretty inspired choice. I think I'd probably argue that the easiest parallel to think of is Sonic Spinball, in the way that you have explicitly goal-based tables which often have a sense of progression within them, but even that doesn't take into account the variety of interesting ways that pinball impacts on the whole Metroidvania thing. I'll be keeping an eye on Villa Gorilla for the future.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China: Another instance of me going for something that can fill small gaps of play (can you tell I was fitting them around World Cup matches?) I have to say, I'm enjoying this a wee bit more than the reviews suggested, although I can't quite put my finger on why; I think it's perhaps how *fully* the game commits to the AC ethos but in 2D. There's a few issues which are perhaps somewhat inevitable when you've got something exploration-based being forced into a 2D environment (in one instance, I realised I'd missed a secret earlier in the level and doubled-back to collect it - but doing so was quite a long journey and I'd already consumed the checkpoints beyond it, so when I died on my first attempt of that section I had to replay the *whole* thing, backtracking included). Oh, also, really liking the artstyle going for traditional chinese paintings.

Far Cry 2: Something a little more substantial to finish with, and I'm already enjoying this significantly more than the first game. It perhaps helps that I'm playing this with a joypad rather than mouse+keyboard as I did for the first, because I'm not exactly playing it with an FPS mentality; I'm very heavy on the driving, at least currently, and using the turrets on vehicles, rather than the more cover-based approach. I'm finding the exploration pretty enjoyable, and I rather like the whole buddy structure as well. It's got the feeling of a game that's more cohesive than the first, while still with a little roughness around the edges that will probably get ironed out in the later titles.

All that said, I may get sick of brown sooner rather than later.

One-Deck Dungeon: Okay, not a video game (although there's been a recent mobile/steam adaptation), but in this case a physical solo card game that I've been rather enjoying. Not sure if there's a reasonable 'completion' metric in there, but I did recently get my first actual 'win' of (the easiest) dungeon, so I guess that merits a nod of some sort!

34284616_10216520359623679_7214993682263441408_n.jpg

Vague future plan: I've got a bit of an inkling to do a Need For Speed retrospective, possibly dependent on how successful I can be in getting the very earliest titles running on modern hardware.
