Well, according to the guy I was playing with it was drastically improved concerning how long it takes but I don't know when the improvement happened.

I got sick of asking my clan to do nightfall as a 3 so I been finding that one guy that needs it then doing a guided game for a 3rd. always been successful. I remember only one time when it took to long and we quit.

being a seeker is a nightmare, stopped doing that very soon after release.

I just can't stand the teamshotting.. It's miserable and I'm a PvP guy thru and thru. There's a flow to these matches that I can't stand and as both a solo and grouper... I just find the experience anymore to be abysmal.

In D1 battles always moved in a way that allowed players to fight solo but stay within the areas to help each other . But you were equipped to handle more situations.. In D2 you constantly run into blobs and it's over, instantly. Nothing more to be said or done.. Sure yes we've all had our double and maybe triple downs from time to time but in D1 you could actually have some fun and everyone wasn't a big fucking pussy.

There's a mentality in D2 that I have never seen before. So many times I break off just to peek around a corner and die instantly because 3 or 4 guys just standing there waiting. It's hilarious and so sad.

Balance isn't what I am wanting tbh... I'm ok with things a little out of whack, D1 had things just right even tho you'll get many pov on that. I loved it outside of the thorn days. But id trade that D1 crucible for this without a thought

PvE tho it's solid, and it's getting better

Couldn't agree more.
Everytime I solo play PvP, at least now lessons have been learnt, I literally follow someone around. It's even better when I see 3 matching clan tags in my team. Anytime 6vs6 makes a brief appearance, it feels like I'm playing a different game and further reminds me that it was a better PvP experience.

The NetEase partnership gives me even more reason to believe that Bungie plans on selling the rights to Destiny to Activsion at some point. I've had this thought for many months, even more so ever since Warmind came out. I just get the impression that Bungie wants out, and wants to work on something else.

Destiny is too stressful and far too ambitious. A mobile game or BR game of some kind will probably be a lot easier to develop and support. I can definitely see Vicarious Visions taking over core development, while at most, Bungie merely acts as a distant consultant, going forward.

Or maybe they'll be a multi IP studio, but they clearly have issues managing just one, despite their size and capacity.
Definitely feels like Bungie have bitten off more than they can chew and I think their initial vision for the game was far too big for them in an area they had little experience in. If they were selling the rights then somewhere like Blizzard would be the best place for them.

Where is the cheapest place I can buy the base game on PC right now? (US or UK)

Was counting on someone who promised me a humble code, but they forgot to inform me until the monthly was over that they couldn't get it to me.

Myself and another clan member ran the Nightfall as the final step for the Rat King on PC (I was totally expecting to have to run the Arms Dealer special strike but nope) and we used Guided Games to get a third. I doubt a lot of folks know but holy smokes it was quicker than matchmaking for an Heroic Strike or a regular PvP match. When did this happen?
Finding a 3rd using guided games has always been instant for me.

The slowdown in guided games comes in trying to find 2 other players (Seeker). There are more guides than seekers, which creates a wait time.

I did notice that guided games for the EoW raid lair had an estimated wait time of only 15-20 minutes a couple weeks ago, which surprised me. I think more guides might be guiding the lair now that you get a bright engram for doing it.

Guided Games has been working pretty well since they added the incentive for Guides. I've done a few guided raids since Warmind and have matched with players in less than a minute. Based on the feedback from the seekers, they are getting matched within a matter of minutes,
I use guided games once a week to do the Nightfall. I'm the seeker. It takes 20-30 minutes every single time. It's an awful experience because Bungie being Bungie makes the person searching for a guide sit at a search screen until one is found instead of letting them continue playing the game while a match is found. And then they limit the number of times you're allowed to use the service, which means as the season goes along, there are fewer and fewer people able to use it. Just one of many incredibly stupid decisions Bungie has made around matchmaking since day 1 when they could have just solved it all by implementing LFG inside of the game.

No amount of balance changes, nerfs, buff is account for the garbage maps compared to D1 and the lack of consistent people playing. Pretty much all the pros have jumped ship elsewhere.

This isn't pertaining to the topic but if you guys are playing EP on Xbox and need another player I'm up for it as I'd like to experience the mode in how it's meant to played at least once. Even though I'm mostly playing on PC now, all my Xbox characters are over 370 PL (Void weapons, Tractor Cannon w/Catalyst, etc). Almost beat Level 3 yesterday with 4 other random players on PC but the attempt seemed a bit half-hearted honestly. Not really interested in jumping through all the hoops to get a full group of my own but, again, if I'm on and you need another player I'll drop whatever I'm currently doing, just send me an invite.

EP was a bitch today. Made it to 28 wins, no smg or shotty. Invited a friend of mine in to get the win for the week since we were essentially 6-manning it and he got both. Cmon Bungie. I already gave you my soul for a table flip emote, which I never got...what more do you want?
28 runs and no weapons?

shit sucks man. it took me 20 runs or so to get the SR. came back the next day to get the armor pieces for my other 2 toons and got another one in those 2 runs. pretty bitter, actually. pure RNG sucks.

It wasn't the fact it was too big - Tiger Engine is plain shit to work with. If they used UE3 I honestly think it'd be a different, more larger game.

Foregone Conclusion is giving me flashbacks to Halo CE's AR. This thing is just a complete bullet hose and so much fun. MW'd it and got the extended mag for just that little bit more dakka.

We ran one last night & the guy said it took him about 10 minutes to find us, took us less than a minute to find him.

I couldn't imagine being a seeker, but from a guide standpoint, I almost prefer getting a 6th through guided games rather than pulling someone from LFG or Reddit. In my experience, the seekers we get paired up with are there because they want to learn &/or want help, thankfully we haven't ran into any of the "fuck you, I know what I'm doing" types.. yet.

They need to make it where you can be on patrol while you wait. The fact you have to say in space while you're in a queue is completely counterproductive/a waste of time.

What's hilarious with the Guided games now is that the Heroic Strikes are harder than the Nightfall generally and random matchmaking works just fine for that. No reason they can just do normal matchmaking for normal Nightfall at this stage given the PL requirements.

I seriously can't with these awful Heroic Strikes.

How is Blackout something that was allowed into the game? One hit melee kills from enemies (not from you though) with no radar is less "added difficulty" and more "annoyance."

It might be better if we could balance the scales a bit more if, for example, our melee hits were more powerful too. And if we have an elemental burn to work with. Instead, we get the almost completely pointless elemental "singe" which really doesn't impact the battle enough to matter.

(Burns were fun and players liked them in Destiny 1. Why not just bring that back?)

Just be gratefully that they took that stupid Nessus strike out of the rotation. Never come so close to breaking both controller and PS4 as I did running that bitch....

Ran a card last night that was a breeze. The third match was a butt clencher though. We were down 0-5, but came back and won. The other team was stacked as fuck with insanely good players. Way out of my league. The one match I legit needed my buddies to carry me. I'm decent, but nowhere close to how good they are. They're stupid good and do this shit in their sleep. They consider a 2.5 K/D to be just okay.

Sure thing I'll keep an eye out for you. I still haven't completed EP, we just spent 3 plus hours on a 6-person attempt (5 of us plus a random who graciously let 2 of us join his fireteam).

Apparently doing it in braytech was a mistake and the glacial drift is a lot easier, so I'll have to try that next time we get an attempt together.

Finally got the Crimson Catalyst to drop last night. Thing is so crispy since the buff and I love how the Silver Bullet Ornament looks on it.

That 3+ hour EP run was really fun. Too bad we couldn't get Wave 7 finished, but I had 3 catalysts (DARCI, Tractor Cannon, Crimson) drop so I'm content with that.

Most of the strikes are more than do-able with Blackout on, unless they are heavy with Thralls or Cabal dogs.

I would much rather have Blackout than Glass. I don't even bother playing on days where Glass is active. Other players generally understand how to deal with Blackout, but aren't disciplined enough to not fuck up with their HP cut in half.

I thought they took it out because players discovered no enemies would attack you if you stood on the box to the far left. Easy win.

Well, it was the newer Mars strike with the giant wizard who sends Thrall at you. So yeah, that would be it.

I'm not fully against the idea of Blackout but they need to balance it more so that players can tip the scale. If you're going to have a modifier that allows even minor enemies to one-shot melee kill you and have no radar, then the players should also have a stronger melee as well.

And they need to kill singes and just bring back burns.

Challenging but fun.

I gotta know,

We all know Bungle made a lot of mistakes but why is there this feverish almost crusader--like fervour against Destiny in these parts?

Legit trying to get hyped for Anthem, but it was post after post of shitting on Destiny.

How can one game dominate do many minds? I don't understand.

For me its simple. Somehow even though the game launched a mess, the best days were still the Crota raid days. They never seemed to know what to do with this game after Staten left. Takin King was an improvement but even then, a lot of people left and the game never reached this open world promise.

D2 somehow went the opposite direction. I find the worlds to be way smaller than old russis and the open world experience is almost zero. Most of the campaign and strikes are very linear, retreading, it almost reminds me of the Bungie Halo campaigns. I still play but the open world you never know who or what you will run in to is a dead concept for this game. Its really just an on rails shooter with levels you repeat over and over.

I don't understand. Are you saying you don't understand the strategy of jumping up and down over your two teammates' dead bodies like an idiot, rather than trying to revive them?
It's so bad. It would help if they'd read and understood the modifiers. I like watching the same person try to punch thralls in the same location death after death like they don't understand enemy melee attacks are a one hit kill today.

I feel like they should be on the ship loading screen at this point so people are pretty much forced to read them.

On another note, does it seem like the 5-win streak bonus in Crucible is... crap? And not really worth it?
