Pay to play with your friends. Pay to use a battle and trading system that's almost on the same level as the gen 1 games with the cord.

On some levels, it has to be accepted that this is low budget effort with potential for incredibly high margins. I think TPC realizes that it's not necessarily "doing the most" that nets them the win in the end and people will continue to support them anyway.

To clarify, these games have less online functionality than other Pokemon games made approximately 12 years ago (by the time this game finally releases that is).

Edit: meh... I don't want to have that conversation right now.

I see what you're saying.

I don't think TPC/i is the problem. I think it comes from the directors of the recent games and their philosophy on why recent games have been cutting content.

It's like everytime they open their mouths, this game gets worse and worse.

Hell, it's starting to affect my Gen 8 hype

We already knew there was no Battle Spot. The only with "friends" part was a deduction by Game Freak.

The exact quote is: "There is no GTS, Wonder Trade, or Battle Spot (Rating Battle, Free Battle, and Online Competition, etc.)". They don't say anything about other new functionalities.

And we know there will be an online hub thanks to the leak. TPC said they will reveal more info about the new online functionalities in the future.
I'm pretty sure the online "hub" is online co-op that whoever saw it first probably assumed was limited to certain areas

I don't know what you originally posted but I do apologize if I"m coming off as bitter. I think I'm experiencing a massive amount of cognitive dissonance when it comes to Pokemon.

It could be that which would make sense. But I like the idea of Pokemon being so well managed that philosophy trickles down all the way from the "top"... I have no evidence of course.

well, at least the player characters seem capable of multiple expressions
LOL I'd take gts and breeding over something that doesn't matter in the long term life of the game like that
Maybe we'll get a statue of the GTS atleast? That seems to be Gamefreak's preferred method of memorializing cut content...
* They seem to be making a way to communicate with trainers all over the world. Imagine the possibilities!*

Oh no. I didn't see your reply as bitter at all. I fully understand what you were saying.

Earlier today I took over the thread twice with two topics I know has no chance of happening.

In a nutshell I said that Game Freak are the masters of maximizing their profits.

Sun/Moon came out at 40$ and it had everything a new gen brought which made it worth it.

Ultra Sun and Moon is

(Someone else's joke)

A patch that sold 7 million copies.

At 40$.

Game Freak in some ways puts companies who banks on DLC to shame.

I wrote more but don't remember it. lol.. it's a thought I'm too tired to debate over.

I haven't played Pokémon since the gold/silver remakes and I was really looking forward to this game. With the clear focus on a new casual audience I think I might skip this and just clear the backlog starting with black/white until the 2019 title comes out. Anyone else in this base?

that thing was already an Orphan in XY but then they were like, yea lets do it again in the spinoff game
leave espurr alone
At least it's cute when it is happy.

This is a pretty good idea, and if you burn through the series starting from that point you can bring everything forward with bank

I'm pretty much set to replay HGSS, Black, and Black 2 in that span, and I'm going for dex completion in all games. So I'm set for a long time.

Doing the same except for the 3DS games. Gonna see if I can a full living dex in that time, if not it'll be a good start for Gen 8 in 2019.

While I'm pretty sure I'm getting Let's Go, the lack of support for competitive play (at least, that's what it seems at the moment) means that Ultra Sun has plenty of life in it for me too.

For starters, you won't be able to evolve your partner Pokémon regardless of the version, though you will be able to find and evolve other Pikachus and Eevees in the wild. However, only the original 150 Pokémon will be included, so Eevee will not be able to transform into anything other than Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon. Alolan versions of some of the original 150 Pokémon will appear, however.

...These games are NOT going to include:

Pichu
Cleffa
Igglybuff
Crobat
Bellossom
Politoed
Slowking
Magnezone
Steelix
Hitmontop
Lickylicky
Rhyperior
Happiny
Blissey
Tangrowth
Mime Jr.
Scizor
Smoochum
Elekid
Electivire
Magby
Magmortar
Espeon
Umbreon
Glaceon
Leafeon
Sylveon
Porygon 2
Porygon Z
Munchlax

But DO include:

Alolan Forms:

Rattata
Raticate
Raichu
Sandshrew
Sandslash
Vulpix
Ninetails
Diglett
Dugtrio
Meowth
Persian
Geodude
Graveler
Golem
Grimer
Muk
Exeggcutor
Marowak

So basically we're getting a half-assed Kanto.

Keep in mind we've always heard 150 instead of 151 in context of available Pokemon. Rip Mew.

Though technically there are 151 because of the Gen 7/8/whateverthefuck Pokemon.

"improved graphics"
well, I didn't expect them to say "the same or worse graphics". Surely there's more description than that?

Lol every bit of news that comes this game gets more shit.
They've stripped anything even remotely engaging about the series.

This shit is gonna be vapid.
