The helmet/gauntlet designs look almost identical to Halo 3:

This makes me wonder if they'll be ditching the advanced armor abilities (sprinting, ground pound, etc).

It will take place after the events of Halo 5 but feel new to new players. Remember how Halo CE woke you up in the middle of a war your had apparently been fighting?
I'm assuming we'll start the game several months after a war has erupted, then, with some backstory through data pads, or terminals, or chatter, etc as we continue playing. Very nice trailer; I've always wanted more wildlife in missions to give it a more immersive feel. I remember giant floating jellyfish in one trailer, so I'm hoping you guys put some other interesting creatures into the game. Given the scenario we left off, I'm imagining a rag tag collection of uniforms, weapons and vehicles.

Any way, I'm really looking forward to it.

Halo 1's ring has animal noises in the outdoors, fish thingies in the ocean, and bugs floating around in the 343GS swamp. Halo 2's ring has birds that you can actually shoot and kill.
I guess I should be more specific and say animals of...sufficient biomass. It seemed like nothing big enough for the flood to use remained on the rings.

I hope so. I really, really hope so. At the very least I want to see sprinting removed. It has been such a huge detriment to the gameplay in my opinion. Especially when it comes to multiplayer level design (map size especially).

The aesthetic of it all really drew me in. Clean, artificial, easy to read, colorful. Going back to the Halo ring themselves is a dream come true. Bring to PC, sign me up!

I really hope it's slim and back to basics like I'm getting the sense of.

Reposting since I replaced the original images with 4K versions:

We need a name for the recent trend of E3 presentations aimed, at least in part, at touting the company to prospective employees. EA has mastered that and this appears to be something similar. Still, I'm incredibly excited for a new Halo game (even if it's pivoting away from the excellent art style used in 4 and 5).

IMHO, this was a Battle Royale: Game As A Service confirmation. I never, in my wildest dreams, imagined MS would gloss through a Halo unveil like THAT.

Oh thank god, original (or close to original) armor design is back!

Yes, IMO nothing looks new. Nothing screams that this is something we haven't seen before from Halo. What's more amazing is that you didn't draw that conclusion.
Do people want a God of War style reinvention of the Halo franchise.

People are clamouring for a return to Halo 1-3 style games. The art style looks sweet, a focus on Cheif is MUCH wanted.

For the new. The hints were there. The trailer hinted at a more open world/land scape. The presence of wild life was a focus too.

Lets wait for gameplay before writing it off completely.

jesus that looks absurd, that's all ingame?
It definitely looked real time to my trained eyes. Not that that doesn't mean the game's development will necessitate downgrades to make everything work properly when the final product comes around.

Halo 2 E3 demo. Never forget. But yeah, this definitely was not CG.

Based on the comments from 343 and how little was shown in the trailer it seems like this might not even release in 2019.

Hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

Glad to hear the focus is back on master chief. Locke and his crew were awful.

Oh absolutely I'm sure everyone wants to work on Respawn's Star Wars game after that exhilarating announcement.

Watching that trailer gave huge Halo CE vibes and thats a good thing.

However, the game seems to be at least a 2020 game due to no gameplay being shown.

I think the marine design is good, looks much more realistic to me. I guess it doesn't look particularly futuristic but that's not really much of a complaint to me

I'd be disappointed if they go back to the Halo 2/3 Mjolnir Mark VI design. I was always a fan of the Halo 4 re-design.

Looks great, gives me original Halo vibes which is all I've ever wanted. I might consider buying the next gen Xbox if this shapes up to be worth it (once it has a cheaper revision a couple of years in).

Thank god for the new (seemingly more simple) artstyle. The last two games have been simply too much.

Also if Blue Team is in this, please do them some damn justice.

Takes place after Halo 5? I thought this was its own thing. Why the title change then?

It's probably both. Kinda like why God of War 4 is just called God of War. They know interest in the main story is waning, but they also don't want to do a full reboot. I also got the impression that they want to show a strong change in gameplay, possibly to open world, and naming it Halo Infinite gets that message across better than Halo 6 would.

Definitely won't write it off, but for all the talk of "exclusive games you will want to play on Xbox," seemed the same song and dance as far as Halo is concerned. I haven't been impressed since 3 so could just be me. The series doesn't need reinvention, it needs refocus.

I mean, its a bit odd that they chose to change up the visuals completely in the last game of a trilogy, but I guess its the best thing they could have done with the community split on Halo and keeping the game fresh and exciting.

It's a bargain-bin purchase if Brian Reed is leading the narrative.

Multiplayer might be cool though. Looking forward to gameplay in the future.
