Uncle Dante....more like Daddy Dante...

I don't see what "better visuals" has anything to do with the changes they made to his face. They don't really look like the same person. Even if you gave new Nero his old hair he'd still just look like some dude cosplaying Nero. FF13 to 15 was a big jump graphically and that didn't stop 15 from staying true to the faces FF is known for. I do prefer him with short hair but this new face isn't Nero.
This is pretty drastic:

And the results honestly speak for themselves when it comes to how much more lifelike the characters look in FFXV at times compared to past entries:

They could pushed it much further imho as facial animation isn't exactly one of FFXV's strong points compared to it's peers.

So... is this after DMC2? Where Dante has been to hell and back and in the flashbacks we learn and see how he embraced the way of the hobo or something? Cause that's the only way I can justify this look. And Nero looks like a watered down version of the Scalebound protag.

It's been over 20 hours and I'm still salty af, I wanted DMCV, not DmC5. :(

He also parts his hair the same way he had it in DMC2, interestingly enough.

dmc2-dante.jpg

It´s such a crime that the best Dante-Design was wasted on the worst Game (and we´ve been stuck with the DmC 3 Design as the "go to"-look ever since). DmC 2 Dante looks Boss. Maaaaaybe if DmC V is set after 2, we get this look as an alt. A man can Dream

No,no buddy. I meant while DMC5 would look better using Panta Rhei engine, there is no way the game would run at 60 FPS using Panta Rhei for current-gen (mostly base consoles). I am not talking about RE Engine. I have no doubt it will run so fluidly using RE Engine. It had proved itself with RE7 and I look forward to see it with RE2 Remake.
Ah, sorry, my mistake, apologies. I fear Panta Rhei is dead and/or became merged into RE engine, a great engine.

Remember when we saw Devil May Cry 4 for the first time and everybody freaked out?

In case you missed it, Johnny Yong Bosch confirmed on Twitter that he is indeed back as the voice of Nero.

The few bits of gameplay shown look good already. Not bothered with the design. This VS Bayonetta 3 will be interesting.

Since the Dante actor looks so good I really hope they fucking tweak whatever their 3D model is doing to match some of his good looks.

Especially since he's also gonna be Vergil.

The gameplay looks like a solid continuation from DMC4, and for that I'm in Day One.

The designs are fine whatever, I already got over the changes.

I'm just happy that it seems like this could take place the furthest in the future, out of all the DMC games. FINALLY the story gets to move forward.

Rewatching the trailer for 150th time, it's everything I ever wanted it to be. It's such a sick trailer. Recognizing the DMC4 animations the first time almost gave me a heart attack of hype.

It'd be hilarious if Kyrie doesn't show up in the game altogether and they just have Nero acknowledging her existence. Like Frozone's wife gag in The Incredibles.

I still think this game could have looked better using Panta Rhei Engine espeically in terms of lighting and fluid simluation but that engine is so unoptimised and no way this gonna run at fluid 60 FPS. So hopefully next-gen then.
Panta Rhei is dead. RE Engine is pretty much its successor.

Okay, I shouldn't, but for anyone curious here's the story of what happened to Deep Down. The game is over five years old now, maybe it's a good time for this to come out publicly.

Deep Down was a sinkhole for Capcom. That announcement trailer? It was fucking bullshit, at the time the engine could only run 2-8 FPS, how that trailer was made was they took fucking screenshots of the game and turned it into footage and did the sound for it, I'm not fucking kidding. Even once the engine got off the ground to be more functioning, the game would still only run around 5-25 frames per second. The engine could produce some good visuals, but it ran like ASS. More so, what was completed for the project simply was NOT FUN, everyone who ever got to try it realized the game was not coming together. On top of this, the Phanta Rei Engine, which internally was known as the Sophia Engine, was really hard to work with. It had terrible user interface and was very unintuitive and a chore to use.

Capcom sank so much time and money into it, but ultimately realized it was a failing project. All of the people working on it one day were told to just stop, the game was sent to another segment of Capcom to try and 'save' the project, port it to the Unreal Engine.... and it was never officially cancelled, but it kinda' just silently died. Many people within the company don't even know what happened to it or where it currently is, it's probably in some Capcom storage basement somewhere.

Ono has lost a lot of power within the company so he likely won't be able to bring it back, plus it was a financial disaster for them and the much, much, MUCH better RE Engine came from the ashes of the Phanta Rei/Sophia Engine, so unless Capcom decide to remake it from the ground up one day, it'll probably never see the light of day. The actual Deep Down people know ran like shit and was not fun, and it kinda' just disappeared when being ported to the Unreal Engine, end of story.

I really need to play DMC4. It's the only one I haven't played. Really wish it was included with the most recent DMC collection.

Where is he yelling Kyrie?

Please no Kyrie is kidnapped again shit

I think Nero and Kyrie are/were living together or married. He told her to go back inside when presumably, dad paid a visit to lop his arm off.

She's probably going to be an off camera referenced character like Rose in Metal Gear Rising which is fine since she's pretty much Nero's Rose anyways.

Because real face is not fake face. Fake face change when become real face. Real face proportion require real proportion, and real face limited to models available. Hope this helps.

Also, this looked like an aged, more realistic Nero from DMC4.

But obviously real people aren't going to look great at all angles of the day like a porcelain doll. Take Dante as an example. Honestly, I'm just glad JYB is finally voicing a character with a jaw.
