ya know guys, we still have a whole other half of the year to go through still. for all we know, it just needs another month before they could show something off. there's no law that says it HAS to appear at E3 or it can't be shown ever in 2018.
True enough, though it is still unlikely. PSX is possible, but I would not bet on anything for FFVIIr until KHIII is out the door.
It's funny, I've been trying to get to FF VII for years, and put in some time on Vita a while ago (up to middle of 2nd bombing run?) when I was still playing games in transit and wasn't committing all of my travel time to studying, but it almost comes off like I've made more progress than the dev team. I know that's not really true at all, and is just a dumb hottake from an armchair developer like me, but I would have thought episode 1 would be somewhere on the horizon by now, like coming in less than 2 years.
That's one reason I haven't gone that far into FFVII, because I thought I'd potentially be playing at least episode 1 soon anyways, but nope. At this rate even if I only played 10 hours a year I'd probably beat it before the remake was done.
And it's not like I have no time for gaming, just a lot of factors get in the way, and since I practically know the entire story by now from hearing others talk about it my enthusiasm isn't as high as for new things, you know? Still, I should get to it sometime soon I think.
Anyone know a good "definitive" list of mods for the steam version? The fan retranslation stands out to me as worth checking out, as well as some of the graphical overhauls for the battle models, but the overhauls that change the world view character models to be proportionate screws with the overall art style too much and makes the characters inconsistent across the CG scenes. Does anyone know of any mods that add way more detail to the world view character models while retaining the art style shown in the CG scenes? Thanks.
Edit:
Certainly square has to be seeing the intensity of this backlash and disappointment. All the subtle hints and even explicit mentions of showing stuff "soon"... They surely must be scrambling to save its reputation by putting together a typical inspiring ff trailer.
Square-Enix should really consider outsourcing nearly everything and just focus on marketing the results. I know it's a played out joke, and obviously they shouldn't really do that, but considering how they can reel people in, even making trailers basically out of nothing (ie. alpha prototypes at best), they'd probably do a decent job at just marketing the work of other companies.
