The different devil breakers will probably be Nero's equivalent to Dante's Styles :D

I'm curious to see how a "summoner" character could work in DMC.

Regarding the 3 eyed bloody demon, according to 4gamer here:
http://www.4gamer.net/games/999/G999903/20180611003/
They called him demon emperor, who's actually behind the demonic invasion on human realm, seems pretty same to say Mundus is back with a vengeance.

Not surprised to hear this. Didn't Son of Sparda 's original leak say something about Mundus possibly being the villain of the game?

I will say, if that is Mundus, I'm digging his new redesign.

Guys,

Is DMC4 worth playing?

As for 1 to 3, I actually never took the time to properly play these games back then. In this case that HD collection is a no braoner?

Play 1 and 3 in the HD collection. You don't need to be a madman and play Dante Must Die but that maximum difficulty is where the game really shines: As someone who adores the gameplay and systems that it.

DMC4 is very much worth your time. Nero has great mechanics that are completely unique to him, and Dante is basically his DMC3 equivalent on Crack.

I would not write off DMC2 entirely, as the OST and art style are somthing the game does well. Combat is nothing in comparison to the other games and if you don't have the time to play it, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I have vivid memories of buying DMC2 day 1, finishing it in one sitting, and just feeling empty afterwards. I still love Dante's character design from that one though, and despite how bad it is I'd say it's worth checking out to see the series at its worst. I might be in the minority, but you should also check out DmC: Definitive Edition.

Chronologically, the series goes 3, 1, 4, 2 with 5 being before or after 2. We don't know yet. Play DmCDE in place of 2. Look up the last cutscene for 2 on youtube.

Btw, if you look closely at the part where Nero gets his arm ripped off, going by the scenery it seems like Nero was fixing his van when Vergil/Nelo sneaked up on him and ripped his arm off immediately.

So that probably wasn't even a proper fight. My bet would be a flashback cutscene for this.

I Wonder what happened to Kyrie after this cause Nero was yelling to get her back inside. Meaning that she probably came out to see what was going on after hearing all the noise. I bet Nero talking to her happens in the last pic so he is in no position to help her and she is in complete mercy of Vergil/Nelo. Wouldn't be surprised if Vergil/Nelo killed her.

A few frames after your 2nd pic, but before the 3rd one, you can see a symbol on Vergil's right sleeve, that symbol to me heavily resembles the Order of the Sword, just not as ornate.

Nero seems way to chipper for Kyrie to have been killed.

I'm hoping she's just staying at home while Nero attends family therapy.

It's a possibility, but I'd wonder why, as it wouldn't fit what we know about Vergil/Angelo.

Angelo was always prided as "a noble demon who believed in fair play", even when Mundus was fully controlling his actions. Vergil, on the other hand, never went out of his way to slay innocents (though I'm sure he didn't care if his actions would have a greater impact on innocents around him, if his plot in DMC3 succeeded, for example).

So, the idea that he would fridge Kyrie, unless he deemed her a threat, just doesn't fit, to me. At least based on DMC1 and 3. Either Angelo is not fully in control of his actions to an even worse degree than his days serving Mundus, or something is very wrong...

...or GILVER is back.

Thanks for putting this together. Awesome stuff.

Frame by frame of the original trailer oddly shows I'd say a bit more than the follow up, which is mostly vanilla Nero. The rocket movement though was a nice thing to see though we speculated it would do that. My fav spots from the trailer were the timer on the quicksilver attack, demon eyes on the bike, second arm (despite it being 2x rocket), and the explanation behind the bat combat (which was a bit confusing at first).

Can't wait to see more.

It's probably a revenge thing, since Kyrie is the human form of the lieutenant of Mundus who killed Eva. After regretting her actions, she thought she could follow Sparda's example and turn over a new leaf in the human world. Vergil disagreed.

I hope Kyrie doesn't get fridged just to give Nero some motivation to fight Vergil, especially since he's got all the motivation he needs with how Vergil ripped his arm off. They should just leave her as a background character that Nero mentions at times instead of making her the focal point of Nero's character like in DMC4.

Seriously he's got more then enough reasons to be pissed at daddy as is, we don't need to stuff his refrigerator on top of that.

As has been mentioned many times before, how they handled Rose in Metal Gear Rising would be ideal - she's not there in person, but frequently referred to; and plays into Raiden's characterisation and interactions with the rest of the support cast. Nero having a relatively normal life with Kyrie outside of demon hunting would in itself distinguish him from the rest of the cast even if she's not shown here.

I unfortunately think Kyrie is getting fridge. Nero seems like he's getting a semi-reboot treatment

Not quite sold on the face for Nero and the short hair, looks way too different compared to DMC4 (I honestly thought it was gonna be DmC 2 at tbeginning) and my god I didn't like the music in the trailer at all which soured quite me a bit on the reveal... should have went with something different or just used (a remix of) "The time has come".

Kyrie might have tried to protect Nero in that scene and he is shouting for her to get back.

And have to agree with the others, Nero was way too happy partying with Nico to have just lost Kyrie. Guessing she's safe and sound at home, she's just a normal person so there would be zero point for her to come along.

Kyrie is not getting killed, Vergil had a chance to kill Lady and never did. He's not concerned in small fry. She'll be fine and like Jett said earlier Nero is quite chipper if not he would be edge lord brooding galore.

At best you'll see a few secs of her.

I don't see Nero being so cheerful if Kyrie is dead.
I mean, we don't know what the timeframe is between when Vergil takes his arm and when he starts interacting with Nico

Nah, if Kyrie has any sense, she would have listened to Nero and went back inside to put the kettle on. Vergil has no beef with her, he just wanted his shit back.
