That's good. Often, I wish for harder puzzles, but games seem to make them easy filler so as to not stop players who want the gun blazing action

I'm a difficulty hawk, meaning I generally think devs have really weird (bad) philosophy and design when it comes to difficulty settings, but this makes a ton of sense. It's really weird to put in a bunch of unrelated ways of playing the game and expecting the player to be at about the same level for all of them.

Apart from combat isn't it just turning off stuff or basically not using detective mode. Cool to have options though. The last one was ridiculous with the highlight red for traps!

That's awesome, I always felt puzzles are simpler than I want them to be but there was no way to increase the difficulty.

Hmmm this might make me interested in playing. Combat is boring and filler in these games despite how much the shoehorn the mass murder in.

Is there a slider to turn off the awful side characters?

SMH at people wanting to cut the combat... it's the best part of the game with the stealth.

How will this work for environmental puzzles? I assume it's the same puzzles but context clues and amount of tips are scalable?

That's something that more games should offer, people like these games for different reasons so more customisation to give them the optimal experience makes sense.

Interesting part is that they are completely removing white ledges from the game if you set Exploration on Hard. This is something that TR fans are asking for since reboot and even earlier but they finally listened.

Also for the Puzzles, if you set in on Hard, Lara won't constantly talk to herself and give you hints about puzzles. Which also really annoyed me sometimes in previous two games.

Great news really.

Good no more yellow paint giving you hints to what is cilmbable or cameras forcefully pointing you at things for exploration/puzzle.

I'll keep combat difficulty as easy though as I generally suck at games in that resepct.

I'm all in for (more) options! I really liked how you could customize the difficulty in Thief (and Dishonored, I think?) for instance. I wish more games would let you customize your experience.

That's an amazing idea actually. I'll probably stick to the same difficulty for all of them (maybe rise the difficulty of puzzles and exploration), but more options is always a good thing!

Holy shit. Basically the ONE thing that could get me interested in these games again after TR2013 disappointed me and I just YouTube'd Rise. Probably gonna turn combat difficulty all the way down and the other two all the way up.

Oh thank god.

One question when was the last time Lara killed a female?

Removing color coded edges is one of the best thing you can do in games. I am so happy about this.

RotTR's survivor difficulty was a joke, to be honest. I hope they can actually challenge us in the puzzle department this time around. TR2013 and RotTR had braindead puzzles.

Great idea, I can see this being implemented in a lot of games going forward.

Oh wow that's cool. I love super challenging puzzles, but am not very good at combat in these games, so being able to tweak those separately would be awesome.
