Oh right, I had forgotten about that boss fight. Maybe the chances aren't so bad after all.
I hope Capcom continues this "show game in June, release in January" trend. Resident Evil 7 was the same way.
Where is News Bot? I always expected him to appear in one of the Resident Evil 3 discussions but no. So I guess he didn't make it here?
People are angry over the violence in TLOU2? Wtf... Are we back in 2004? It's a mature rated game for crying out loud. But then, the previous incarnation of this forum did complain about the violence in the trailers for Friday the 13th The Game, so I shouldn't be surprised.
It's probably been mentioned but what's the framerate going to be? RE7 was a 60fps game and I know this is running that engine, but this is a much different kind of game.
Oh yeah mid 2015. Still, 3 year full dev cycle not too bad.
I even heard that the game is mostly done, only reserving a Jan release date to avoid the Fall crowd. Which, quite frankly is the smart thing to do.
However upon closer inspection it looks like Q1 is brutal too.
I'm sure it'll be fine on a big TV when you're actually playing it.

I was watching Max's (maximillian_d00ds) hands on impressions and he said it was fluctuating between 30 to 60. It's really jarring to see the framerate fluctuate like that during cutscenes. And the fluctuating framerate is going to make aiming harder. Max plays a lot of fighting games so I trust his judgement on framerate.
If they can't get it to 60 fps by launch, I hope they cap it at 30 fps. So input times and visual movement stays consistent. Or maybe just cap the cutscenes to 30 fps and try to get gameplay at 60 fps.
ugh, so this game is probably going to be the Evil Within killer, isn't it? I mean, not directly, but it's being revived as a third-person survival horror game while the other one seems to be dying. :c
I know it's far too early to even be feeling this way, but assuming the rest of the game is up to par, I'm starting to feel like this might actually top REmake as the GOAT video game remake.
I mean, if this is successful I would think we would see more games like Evil Within pop up, not fewer.
If it has the same GOAT tier level design it could stand a chance. But that's a high bar.

REmake wasn't that successful for Capcom. Not compared to their third person shooters.
I missed this earlier but yes, Leon coming into Raccoon City with Claire is new.
Inconsistent framerate will be an issue for me. They have time so I hope they iron it out. I'll be fine with a capped 30 with decent motion blur. A solid 60 is the dream.
All the footage we saw was 60fps, though, no ? I haven't felt a single framedrop in the videos, and I think every booth was featured with a PS4 Pro.
There's a part in the Capcom stream where Leon shoots a zombie in the legs with a shotgun, and when the zombie falls to the floor you can see the leg bone and a hole in the zombie's jeans where you can see the floor through it.
Definitely a high bar. From what we've seen of the initial RPD map and the team voicing their commitment to maintaining the puzzle/pseudo-Metroidvania level design philosophy, I can't help but be a little optimistic.

The Deluxe Edition will have a soundtrack swap option with the old soundtrack
fuckers...I might buy that version only for that.

He just uploaded his impression. He said it's mostly 30, sometimes gets to 45 but never 60. No idea what that poster was talking about.
Man I hope they add a lot of wesker doing shit in the background during the game. Make him the gman.

I like the way you think. We can wait a while before we head to RE4. Stepping away from Leon to remake the other games would make the RE4 edition that much sweeter.
