So I kill the Chaos Bug that turns "you know who" insane, and I know I killed the right one cause it dropped the Sunlight Maggot. The Demon kills me, I go back and there "you know who" is with the damn thing on his head. WTF.

The problem is that you let Lost Izalith load in. You have to kill every bug before the music cue and "Lost Izalith" shows up on screen. If one's alive before that happens, "you know who" is lost.

The one that bothers me the most is the way back to the asylum. I actually found the nest and curled up, but when nothing happened I figured I was missing some item or event trigger to make it work.

Oh, and I also had to look up how to proceed in Anor Londo. Pretty sure sides of the thing that you run up to get into the painting church are steeper than a lot of places where you would normally slip off and die.

Sure, but the spot where you can talk to her is so far away from where the portal is. Unless she mentions it (I don't know if she does or not), there's no apparent reason to go back over there
The spot is right next to where Dusk's outfit shows up.

It's so funny how muscle memory kicks in so fast. I went to fighr kalameet, it's been years since I last fought him, so I was expecting to die a few times learning his moves. But as soon as the fight started I instinctivlin knew how to dodge every attack again. Such a cool fight.

The one thing I honestly don't buy anyone would be able to figure out without help is how you access the DLC. How the hell are you supposed to make the link to Broken Pendant --> Location where you rescued Dawn possibly 10-20 hours earlier?
I got to the DLC today, and it frustrated me to no end as well.

I'm not even talking about the Pendant -> Location connection. The pendant does not drop until you've already rescued Dusk from the golden golem. How the hell are you supposed to know you need to get back to the Archives to get the pendant?

Long shot - but does anyone here have a red titantite slab I could have? It's pretty much the only thing I need for my 100%. I just don't have enough time for another playthru. I wasn't thinking straight and used up all my slabs. I'm on Steam, SL 65 with a +15 weapon.

In trade, well - I have nearly everything at this point.

Just made it through Dukes and the crystal cave, then proceeded to demon ruins and killed ceaseless without cheesing. That was an annoying fight. Then made my way down to the next bonfire.

It's so tempting because I love the game, but there is like zero justification for buying this on PC even at the sale price of $20.

Oh yeah, that too. I was playing a sorcerer this time, so rescuing Dawn for that sweet headdress was one of the first things I did, but if you play the game for the first time or are not interested in finding good sorcery gear/spells, it's very easy to miss her until very late game.

I needed a final Titanite Slab to get my +10 Lightning Weapon, so I headed to New Londo, slapped on my Symbol of Avarice, popped 10 humanities and headed out to farm. Died to one of the drakes on the way, died again before I could retrieve my humanity.

Headed into New Londo anyway and the first Darkwraith I killed dropped the slab.

By reading the pendant.

Half of a broken stone pendant. The vine appears to originate from Oolacile.
A powerful magic can be sensed from this ancient stone. Yet men of this time can neither manipulate nor sense its power, which has a distinct air consisting of both reverence and nostalgia

Dusk set drops exactly where the portal is even.

Its called exploration, the whole bottom area leads to the Hydra and the dolgen golem is not really hidden, Dusk herself ask you if you want help by Yes or No optionand directly tells you she gonna stay on the lake

I'm thinking of playing Dark Souls III after this. I gotta reinstall it though, which I'm not looking forward to. I'd like to plat this game before I do that though.

Chaos weapon, 1 pyromancy, and 6 rare weapons to go. Can't believe I gotta do Sif three times for this. :(

you on ps4? what rare weapons?
I'm on PC -- thanks anyway, though! I'm just missing the Leeroy and Channeler drops (accidentally kicked Leeroy off a cliff on my NG run), and 3 boss soul weapons. Won't take long. I actually think the damn silver knight shield took me the longest, even with the gold ring and 10 humanity. LOL

Seath and Bed of Chaos down last night, so on the very final leg of my revisit to Lordran. It's been one hell of a journey, with minimal frustrations.

It's hard to miss in a full playthrough if you just kill every mook you come across. The single blue golem is especially out of place between the Channeler and the crystal hollows, which makes me assume the developers wanted to tell you it was special somehow without spelling it out.

But if you would have finished the game on PS3 and bought it at as standalone DLC... yeah, good luck finding it without a guide. That alone makes it shitty design. People paid to play that part of the game, yet the game goes out of its way to prevent them from doing so. It baffles me to see people actually excuse it and worse, frame it like it's the complainers' fault for not connecting the dots.

In terms of lore, why they chose a blue golem and put in the Archives, I have no idea. It would've made more sense if they gave it to a Darkwraith in New Londo or better yet, the Four Kings. Dusk could have told you about the portal appearing nearby because she suddenly felt Oolacile's presence or something like that.

I think the lore is that Seath was sending out the Golems to kidnap maidens (Dusk, Seiglende, Gwyneverie's Handmaidens) and experiment on them, turning them into Pisacas. Oolacile being connected to magic, as are Seath and the Archives and crystal magic etc. They wanted to lock the DLC after getting the Lord Vessel for gameplay/difficulty considerations and this was one way of doing it. Having it connected to 4 Kings could've also worked since Manus and the Abyss etc, makes sense too.

The DLC entrance, it was just known when the DLC first came out - gaming sites etc just straight up published how to get there. But in game, I agree it's quite byzantine how to access it.

So guys, I think I ended up making a lame build lol. I was thinking quality at first, but then I loved the Uchitanga, so I pumped up my Dex, and now I have this:

SL 77
Vit 28
Att 12 (pyro)
End 28
Str 27
Dex 32
Res 14 (I forgot to not do it)
Int 9
Fth 9

What kind of weapons would you recommend with this? I'm so bad at this part of the game, and I've realized that using the Claymore when I originally played was probably a big help (I'm playing sword and shield with medium armor), but I don't wanna use the Claymore again:(

Any options or advice would be appreciated. Like I said, I am really novice with the upper level crafting mechanics in general.

Edit: Story-wise, I just placed the Lordvessel, but trying to kill Gwyndolin before I take on the lord souls, and I'm about to go through the DLC so that hopefully I come back strong enough to wreck Geyndolin and move on (and either way I'm doing the DLC before Sif).

Edit 2: Never played the DLC before.

Well, the pendant clearly says its from Oolacile, probably FROM should have added more like to Dusk to help you reach the DLC.

Because the Cystal cave is the place where Seath do his crystal experiment like the ML Butterfly, the Crystal Golems and brainwash undead, the golem was storing the pendant on its crystal

The Crystals golems were created by Seath on the Crystal Cave to trap people on their backs and bring them to Seath, Seath also sent Channelers to several parts to Anor Londor with the same purpose (One of them kidnapped Rhea and bring her to the archives) and supervise Lordran for sources of Magic since Seath is blind.

Seath is pretty much a mayor figure in the game after the gods left anor londo , his influence being in key places mostly, Seath researched all forms of Magic but never figured out all spells from Oolacile for example he managed to do the Invisibility spell on the bridges on the crystal cave.

Also Seath have some weird tendency to trap females only into his experiments so far the Golems managed to trap Dusk and Siegmeyer daughter and experimented on the Princess guard

It's honestly one of my absolutely favorite parts of the game. You get to learn the fight, help people and get rewards.

The bigger the boss, the more fun it is. Last night I probably helped cut over 10 Seath tails. I'd just run and leap attack it with my club. Same with Kalameet. Fighting Kalameet alongside 3 other dudes is some Monster Hunter Tier shit.

Today I've been helping people with Manus as it's super fun too. I get summoned instantly.

A basic quality build would be 27str/40dex. You can then pump that dex to 45 to get faster cast speed on your pyro.

Guy invaded me in Anor Londo, pre O&S. We emoted back and forth, then he started dropping shit.

I'm on PS4 but I've still heard about Malcolm and his like so I'm nervous.

I pick it up and it's like humanity and awesomeness.

I keep following him around, we emote as he drops shit, and one thing he drops is a Jagged Ghost Blade +2.

I'm like, no way this can actually work on the ghosts. Why.

We end up dueling, and he defeats me.

Days later, I go into New Londo... and holy shit. What a nice guy! He invaded me, dropped all kinds of cool shit, and then defeated me honorably.

The multiplayer in this game is so crazy. So much love, so much hate :P

Just ran through Lost Izalith and defeated BoC. I didn't look anything up for that fight because I wanted it to be a surprise. Hmmm...choices were made during the design phase of that area.

Miyazaki has never apologized for any part of Dark Souls except some of the technical difficulties from the original release like frame rate issues. As far as I know, he's never said anything about Bed of Chaos being unfinished or rushed.

K - think I finally have a really good counter pvp build to all the heavy sword wielders (works against most other builds, but I got tired of all the heavy weapons), requires more testing. Results are promising though. Little high, but not crazy over-leveled either, about SL 83-85 range.

For some reason I saved catacombs/tomb for last (have yet to start the dlc as well). Luckily, I picked up the sunlight maggot helm so I'm guessing it really helps. Hopefully a +5 divine club is enough.

What's this dark spell that invaders are using to 1-shot me? I don't even see a projectile or anything, they just cast something next to me and then I'm dead.

People who disconnect upon invasions are funny.

People who disconnect with a phantom present, however, are a special kind of coward haha.

Invading a guy in Painted World and getting 2hko'd by his phantom's pyro: bummer.

Re-invading the same guy immediately after, and killing him as he just turned the switch and was making his way through the tunnels, leaving his blood stain in the worst possible place: perfect.

Invading a giantdad immediately after that and ambushing him with a plunging attack, murdering him right before he enters the boss room: priceless.

Sigh...killed Nito and found a message that said 'amazing armor ahead'. Apparently it's in reference to the paladin armor I had no idea about. This is the first I'm researching this Leeroy character I was supposed to kill first. Oh well.

I'm 70 but since weapons and armor also impact the range of your summons so it is hard to tell. The game still has a very active population so I guess you'll find people of all levels doing runs. Heck I decided to put up a sign for Nito while farming for white chunks and even then I'd get summoned immediately. 4 kings is also a good option since there seems to be less competition.
