Armor pieces are always in a set order so you'll always get the class item first.

Dang that kinda sucks since currently I only lack cloak to be 385.

If I hadn't already accidentally done Ep once I'd have an easy guaranteed way to get that cloak. Rather than have to tackle raids/milestones next week hoping for it.

Is Sleeper worth it? Can't really be arsed doing a quest line for an exotic that I already did a quest line to get previously, and I rarely have exotics in my power weapon slot because it means giving up Sunshot or Graviton Lance.

It is a must have. One of the main contenders for top of the line damage, right up there with DARCI and a few other weapons.

That was fun, just was losing a crucible match like 60-20 in control, one of our four dropped, and we somehow came back and won like 100-94 (4th did join eventually)! Ended with 29 enemies defeated and 2.9 efficiency top on the team (and though I love it, I've always been a crucible scrub).

Was trying to use Requiem 45 (540 RPM pulse) based on coolguys new vid. he showed how with the spo-57 sight it doesn't have damage drop off until 53 meters, way more than most pulses, without losing too much versatility because spo-57 is a great mid zoom sight, on top of zen moment giving it more effective range too. That is just an excellent vid, almost no other Destiny YTers get down in the weeds like that (except datto in PVE for sure)

I'm still never going to be a fan of the most rapid fire weapons in the game, for the simple reason they introduce one more variable that can only hurt you, how fast you pull the trigger. But, so far so good. Maybe it can boot my adverse Possession from best Colony loadout, at least on shorter maps.

For that game it pretty much slayed, I'm sure it was due to the opposing potato factor (tm), as was our comeback, but that was fun.

Also arcstrider slays. Now he has a slaying super (super is almost too strong TBH, it lasts so long there's almost no way to not get multiple kills, it slays most other supers too). And dodge with Wormhusk helm to get health back AND insta reload for instantly back in the fight? Filthy. And with a couple CA cooldowns, up every few seconds too.

Honestly I'm sure I'll double prestige or whatevs before too much longer (already have one reset). I'm really glad there's random long term useless crap now like this to chase in the game.

What do you all think will happen to the armor after the September update? Will we be able to update our current armor with the new perks or have to grind for the pieces again? Trying to decide if I want to use my tokens on gear sets right now.

They said everything comes with us. But will you be able to get all the current armor in Forsaken? Probably not... but we'll see I guess

Token bought armor and all drops will drop at a max of 381+5 light and then only powerful and <new tess bought> engrams can be used to level up to the max 600 light

I haven't played D2, can't even access Warmind content. Should I buy Tractor Cannon? I have like 60 shards, and at about 270 power level

Fail after fail of EP, even with Tractor Cannon. The words "futility of war" come to mind.

6 to 8 player squads is how to get it done.

But you didn't address perks which is what I'm concerned about. I know you will be able to upgrade the power level, but they will be useless without perks.

It's a good weapon now instead of a joke, but if you are not planning to earn more shards there are better weapons to hold out for. I would buy it.

Bungie's main problem when they introduce new game modes is that they only support them during one DLC Season but then quickly forget about it when the next DLC season comes up.

Prison of Elders in D1 is probably one of the few new modes that received a re-visit and made relevant again during Rise of Iron. But everything else goes to the way side.

D2 does the same thing, hey look Infinite Forrest?? nobody goes there aside from Strikes. Escalation Protocol for now, but will be ignored when Foresaken arrives.

Hey, lets test out 6v6 for a bit.... hmmmm no more 6v6 pvp? wasn't 6v6 hinted? why was it reverted by to 4v4?

I wonder if they'll change some strike dialogue with Forsaken. Obviously it's not necessary at all, since they canonically take place before Forsaken, but with the theme of the season being loss and revenge, with a tone of melancholy around the Tower and stuff (assuming), it might be a bit weird to hop into our weeklies and oh look, there's good ol' Cayde cracking his jokes.

The campaign's sole purpose is to teach the mechanics needed for endgame. Warmind's story missions serve that purpose real well. Nice quick roller coaster and on to the end game.

Also, regarding leveling up, I now have 2 characters at 385 and have just been knocking out milestones since Warmind launch. Make sure you knock those out one by one. Each time you get a peace of gear to level you up, use your tokens and turn them in to level all your gear up to the new baseline. Once you've done that, do the next milestone.
Okay I apologize, you were right, I finished a few milestones and managed to get a pretty cool exotic Scout rifle lol

One question though

Each time you get a peace of gear to level you up, use your tokens and turn them in to level all your gear up to the new baseline. Once you've done that, do the next milestone.
What's the exact process behind this? You can level your gear up by turning in tokens? Which particular tokens are those?

Finally ran Spire today. Well, the boss. We all ran Borealis. Get the buff from the initial centurions, stow that baby until DPS. You do at least 1/2 his health bar easy and it's safer than Wardcliff. Tried the Wardcliff strat and it ended up wiping half the team a few times.

That is a stupidly difficult boss, and it seems like there are some glitches in terms of arming the weapons. Either that, or somebody was messing up and not saying something.

Wardcliff strat is the new "No Knights" Oryx strat in terms of how inconsistent it is. Best strat is still shotgun + Arcstrider, but if sniping/rockets from safety works then go for it.

If a milestone moves you up a powerlebel, turning in tokens to a vendor will get you gear one powerlevel higher than it was before, and you can try to find a piece to upgrade the slot that is holding you back. It stops being useful as you approach 385 because your low slots will still be higher than the vendor drops.

I would be blown away if prison of elders arena type thing doesn't come back with Forsaken.

Can't wait for 6v6. Thank goodness for Rumble. Had my best day yesterday: 6 game rumble win streak and 3 Sum of all Tears medals. Only got one of those in Destiny 1.

I'm over a month late to the party this time.. real life schedules suck & time zones can be a bitch, so we did what we could, when we could.

It turned out silky smooth in the end.

I would expect "Gambit" to be the lone new/returning activity for Forsaken if I were you. There should be new Public Events on the two new destinations and maybe other stuff on the dedicated end-game Dreaming City destination but I doubt they'll go overboard on new activities unless noted officially. I mean I'd like to see as many new/returning activities as possible to give us both more daily/weekly activities to partake in but I'm not expecting a lot either outside of at this point traditional story, Public Events, Strikes, a gimped Nightfall (hopefully proven wrong here with a revamped end-game Nightfall), Raid content (full and otherwise... meaning Lair-like content), and the new Gambit mode.

Hoping but not expecting.

Actually after more thought I'd be shocked if they had Gambit and a returning Prison of Elders competing against one another, probably no chance of happening at least initially with the release of Forsaken.

It would be such a waste.

I mean it's the reef and the campaign starts in The prison of elders.

Why build things like archons forge and court of oryx and then leave them behind?

Got a 218k Nightfall score run, thinking we were hot shit, then I come across a video of people doing 300k using a strat I didnt even bother thinking of and after seeing it I'm like well, shit

Again, Gambit is going to be seen as their baby and focal point concerning a new activity with Forsaken.

I agree that old activities and ones released with expansions should get continued attention but considering they have all had pretty significant design flaws from their inception they're simply one-and-dones moving forward mostly. Generally good sounding ideas that they never go fully in on or flesh out.

I already saw a vid of a taken blight on one of the reef locations.

If you see a Cabal drill, become worried.

The Public Events have become so unbelievably mundane, just dreadful. Definitely need some kind of variation system in place and a total re-thinking of the Flashpoint Milestone as well.

These events should be something players gravitate towards but I feel like running in the opposite direction after a couple thousand completions.

I'm still amazed the game launched without some sort of horde mode and I still don't really consider Escalation Protocol to be one in the same way Prison of Elders, Court of Oryx and Archon's Forge were. It just doesn't feel the same.

If those activities are going to be limited to destination activities with instances of players rather than dedicated play-spaces and full matchmaking I think each and every destination should have a unique one of it's own. I don't think that is asking for too much if we can't get more dedicated game modes/activities.

Are there any statistics over what class is the most and least popular?
I remember titans being a big deal in the first game but I see more hunters in this one.

An apparent quote from DeeJ at E3:

"As much as a superhero can be dead, Cayde is dead."

Permanently dead Cayde would be terrible so hopefully we somehow save the little guy at the end.

(I also really dislike the idea that you can apparently just shoot a Ghost and that equals permadeath for the Guardian. It really doesn't work well in this universe.)

Y'know, I've never been totally clear on how you kill a Guardian permanently, but I'll agree that I always imagined it being more involved than physical damage. I figured you'd have to do some crazy shit to permanently kill a Ghost.

You would think. The trailer just shows the Ghost being shot once.

Which is... something that should be happening all the time, realistically. Haha.

"We die, over and over again! Unless somebody shoots the big glowing ball of light when it's picking us up, then we're just done." - Guardian Motto

Most of the time we hear about Guardians permanently dying, it's kind of a big deal. Crota, the Vault of Glass - those are places and things with permanent Guardian bodycounts. Any scrub with a handcannon and decent aim being able to pull it off feels... well, dumb.

I'm not 100% a lore expert (though I've done my fair share of Grimoire deep dives), but I believe that if a Guardian is in what the game terms a Darkness Zone, that is, cut off from the Traveler's Light, then a Ghost is extremely vulnerable and can be easily destroyed. Like weaker than a Fallen Shank. And without his or her Ghost, a Guardian faces a final death. From a lore standpoint, TONS of "known" Guardians were killed permanently while chasing down Atheon in the Vault of Glass, Crota in Crota's End (Eris Morn being a special case in that she managed to survive despite losing her Ghost, and was twisted horribly by the Darkness while executing her survival), Oryx in King's Fall, and all of the other raids and strikes that cut us off from the Traveler's Light.

A team wipe for us is a gameplay mechanic that forces us to revert to the last saved checkpoint. Because videogames and there's no Ironman mode in Destiny. But a Guardian or team wipe within the lore, that is, within the history of the world of Destiny, means that the Guardians involved were all killed for good.

We don't know the full context of what happens to Cayde-6, but it's highly likely that he and his Ghost are cut off from the Light, his Ghost is destroyed in front of him, and he himself is promptly executed.

He gets off lucky. Check out what Crota used to do to defeated Guardians attempting the Crota's End raid (such as Eris Morn's team) in the Destiny 1 Grimoire for some truly hideous ends to Guardians.
