I think I finally just made it through all of EZA's impressions and coverage from E3, and wow, they just crushed it. Pretty much everything far exceeded my already lofty expectations from them and they made the last week a complete joy. They also are reaping the benefits as no other week in their history (besides their starting month) has come anywhere near the amount of exposure/subscribers they got in the last week. The only slight negative was the mostly lack of Bosman giving game impressions and whatnot, but at least he was doing something that hopefully worked for him and brought more eyes to EZA. He was also outstanding on every EZA thing he was able to appear on.

I'm EXTREMELY positive about about everything EZA is doing at the moment, but the pessimistic side kind of worries they aren't doing "enough" to capitalize on this moment. I'm really, really surprised there doesn't appear to be a best of E3 Clips this week. I also think it's incredibly shortsighted to not release the pilot episode of "And For that Reason" (a show I had high hopes of, and like most of EZA's content, far exceeded my sky-high expectations) to the public as I think a vast, vast majority have no idea what that is and any other of their Patreon exclusive content. Obviously we here know, but they gained 8k plus new subs on youtube just in the last few weeks and there is a very casual audience that I'm sure has no idea about these shows. Just give the public (167k youtube subs) a "taste" with a brief explanation on how they can see the rest of the series, and I think that will really go well for them.

They are also, awesomely, over $48,500 on their Patreon and every day breaking their all-time record for Patrons. This is all great! Still, that means we are over 97% of the way to the "ultimate" goal and we still don't really have all that great an idea of what that even means! I think a 48k goal isn't needed, but they do need some starting at 50k to "stabilize" their numbers once the post E3 doldrums hit , especially if the Studio will take some time before they move in. Also, all of the Sponsorships are currently sold out, which is great (!), but that means they might want to think of additional things/sponsorships for those who have that "it must be nice money" to support the Allies.

Man, just such an outstanding week for them on all fronts. Can't compliment them enough for following through on having the" biggest and best" E3 to date.

I completely agree with you. They definitely crushed it. Their E3 coverage truly is top notch.

I can also see why you are a little frustrated with them not capitalizing. However, I wonder if they aren't happy with the growth they are seeing at the moment... I mean, as much as I would love to see them make that final push, it doesn't necessarily seem like they are ready for that BIG next step. If they want to move past that goal I am certain that they are working on something behind the scenes right now. There is a good chance they are having meetings, or have already had meetings, figuring out how to approach the growth of the allies.

I think we should just take a wait and see approach. I am sure they are going to do right by us and get to where they want to be. Hell, we may hear a little more about it in the next Cup of Jones...

It was in relation to him being treated as equal to actual professionals within the industry.

I'm sorry it bothers you so much? Relax.

Okay, dude. I am not trying to defend Boogie. I just don't think this is the place to discuss him. I will leave it at that.

Great post. I agree with the sponsor thing. They could definitely add a spot or 2.
Maybe they could think of a 'visual' sponsor or somethinf. Something similar to that little Sweet Justice banner they had during E3, to put during the podcasts for example.

I think I can safely say my favorite Easy Update episode is the e3 one every year. Appreciate Ian and Don going out there in the trenches, checking carpets.

Edit: holy shit FarisR congrats! Great work on the vid too

Awesome that he's getting to work with them. Love watching his stuff, especially at times when I wasn't watching intently.

This EA recap is perfect. It's not just the goofiness and funny stuff, it's summarizing the substance they discussed as well. Great job FarisR

So happy to see the Patreon on its current upward climb, really hoping the momentum continues for a while

Ben is so good as an interviewer, especially with crazy Japanese devs. He has now done Suda, Kodaka and Fujii. Yoko Taro next?

A FarisR clip on The EZA channel? Hyyype! I know EZA was reluctant to doing that before but I'm so glad they're adding this layer for their big events.

They outsourced their graphics and layouts for E3 and it delivered. And now SomeGameNews on the best of EZA clips. Love it

I would like to request EZA do the same thing for Easy Livin!

Hah, I love it. I went from being slightly bummed about thinking there wouldn't be a best of E3 Clips edition to being absolutely thrilled hours later that instead they combined with FarisR to deliver the type of edit I truly wanted! Awesome job by both and I'll be popping these on multiple times throughout the year until next E3. Once again, Easy Allies over-delivers this E3, and I'm thrilled seeing SomeGameNews is being showcased as he's insanely talented and I've watched every second of his excellent Easy Allies edits.

Shoutout to Huber.

Sometimes you get into moments of life where video games don't really excite you that much despite how much you want to like it. In those moments I find it's there's eventually that friend who is excited about some game you're unaware of and that reminds you of how awesome games are, and recently Huber's been that person, for me, especially with regards to Resident Evil!

I have so many childhood memories of not playing Resident Evil, but being too scared to get near it and hyping myself up like "when I'm older I will play them because I dare!", but then as I got older I realized that the games were way cornier than I thought, and I just wrote it off because of that. It was like "welp, there goes another franchise I thought was super realistic and way above my mental capabilities" but then cue 2015 or something when Huber started doing his Huber Hype and marathoned several Resident Evil games and suddenly I understood it! Eventually his excitement got me to get the REmake Remaster and later play RE2 on Gamecube for the first time... and he's right. They're just good games! At the core it's the survival horror design that makes these games and because the game is so great, the narrative is enjoyable, and then as the series develops as a canon with later games it all really works in its favor.

So, whoop dee doo, I'm now totally a Resident Evil fanboy. I played Resident Evil 5 last summer all the way through with some stranger I found on Reddit (cuz I don't fuckin know anybody IRL who wants to play Resi, sadface) and after finishing it up, we had a lengthy discussion on the series in general.

It just goes to show, sometimes all we need is some open mindedness, positivity and hype! ...and it seems things you might think aren't good really deserve a second chance!

Love & Respect, and I can't wait for RE2make now...!

E3 Easy Updates are the best Easy Updates. I wasn't expecting the up and coming newcomer from G-Nation though! Good job on the carpet, guys!

Did they? I thought the E3 stream graphics were done by them.
Looks like these were the people that worked on the graphics:

Also, here's FarisR confirming that we'll see more highlight videos over the next few weeks.

I just finished watching the EA video. I was kind of hesitant to start because the EA overall conference was so bad but it does such a great job at distilling it to the very best parts. Really looking forward to more of these highlights!

Wait, what did Fuji say that was bad?
I guess he's using "censored" in the sense of editing his craziness/english, like the classic "you will be sucked". Not everybody would leave all that head banging in their interview.

He mentioned it in an earlier tweet:

extreeeeeeme interviews

Kamiya and Itagaki at some point too.

Damn, now I really want to see Ben interview Kamiya. I don't recall ever seeing him interviewed in person by anyone, but even the 0.00001% chance of him making a "do you eat shit?" level comment would be amazing.

He has been interviewed plenty of times. Don't you know the classic cat pose?

I recommendthisreally cool IGN interview about his arcade collection, but you can find plenty just going into youtube or google and searching for his name.

Oh, I don't doubt that he has been interviewed, I probably worded that badly. I mean I had never seen an interview with him and have never felt the urge to look for one. I've only seen his twitter posts. Thanks for the links though. I'll check it out when I have some time.

Nice! Pretty hyped about this, especially the bits and funny parts during pre/post shows and impressions that i did not have the time to follow!

Also good on them for having FarisR videos on their channel, they should move the old Best of EZA as well for max exposure.

A Kamiya interview would be amazing. My only hesitation would be that Kamiya may not be as savage in person, which would be a letdown.

Siding with white supremacy is a bad look.

Or it should be, anyways...

Yeah, someone said something very similar on the previous page. However, no one is supporting white supremacy. That isn't even on the table. I can understand people having a problem with Boogie. I'm not convinced the Easy Allies thread is the best place to discuss it...

That is all I was saying.

Agreed. I think we should just not mention him at all. He kills the vibe.

Holy crap. I've just now realized Tak Fujii is the Konami 2010 dude, lol.

Great interview, Ben.

That explains a lot (about the Konami 2010 presser and this interview).
I did enjoy the interview, but man, that guy seemed weird.

I do like his passion and I hope his game does well (it's probably not for me, but who knows how fun it can be).

I know I'm really late on this, but I finally got around to catching the majority of their E3 coverage & I have to say, well done, Allies. The presentation was super clean & the new camera setup really helps out a lot. Seeing them have guests on is also really sweet. I'm so happy to be a patron.

I am happy to see Tak Fujii running with the memes. I hope he himself was able to enjoy them, and that he never got bummed out by them. I mean, speaking publically is very difficult, speaking in a language that is not your first is harder, and putting yourself out there, in the bombastic way he does, publically, while speaking a language that is not your first is the most badass fucking thing in the world.

Check his twitter. He is referencing the 2010 memes all the time lol

Also, for any of you who didn't see him since that conference, search for his interviews about Frogger 3D in 2011. Dude is 100% passion about anything he does.

I saw him doing that with some of his more recent tweets, I just hope he was in on the joke from the beginning. Either way, he is clearly a pretty cool guy.
