Do you play nothing but Platinum games or something? It's far from a boring game.

Just didn't grab me like their other games have. Rope swinging and traversal felt like a chore, puzzles were rarely engaging, and the gunplay (whilst an improvement) never felt particularly exciting due to dumb enemy AI and general gameplay that I felt never lived up to the trailers.
I could deal with it for the first few hours, but after the 8th hour or so the game dragged on like I'd never experienced before. Saying that, I loved the multiplayer.

I am not even a fan of UC and I thought that was bad ass.

All it needed was Drake reloading his fists like Henry Cavill does.

That looked amazing, I've never played Uncharted but it seems like a game full of action sequences.

Also a testament to how amazing that MI trailer is. Such a well put together thing, you could put any game/film to it and it'd look fantastic.

Look like? You can make a good case it is one of the best games this gen.

This trailer showed up in my YouTube feed. I enjoyed it. Super hyped for the new Mission Impossible too.

Final few chapters were great. But then again, i dont think anyone bought this game to see Drake work out his marriage issues.

Well I did! I'm in for the Drake/Elena dynamic for sure.

yeah there were several intimate setpieces but we usually get those in their TLOU franchise. when we all wanted a next gen Uncharted, we wanted the next gen version of those OMG HOLY SHIT moments Uncharted is known for. We got maybe three of those max. Very disappointing.

This trailer didnt have many of those intimate setpieces because they dont make for a good action trailer.
Read my post again, and listen to Druckmann's words describing Uncharted 4.

The explicitly stated that they tried "OMG HOLY SHIT" Uncharted moments for 4 but that they didn't work because the game looked so realistic is just got less and less believable. Plus Drake was older, plus the hardware was newer, etc, etc.

Hence they made a conscious decision to have more 'intimate' set pieces. They were up front about that. And they totally nailed it.

Uncharted 4 is my fav in the series, but it could definitely use another big set piece or two.

Pretty cool trailer.

Great game and best of the series for me. Possibly my game of the gen as well.

That was a really good trailer for an amazing game. Top 5 game of the generation for me thus far. Hopefully I can squeeze in another replay of the game this year.

THIS IS SO GOOD!

May have to fire the PS4 Pro up and give this one more spin.

EDIT: UC4's lack of action set pieces wouldn't be so glaring if the game wasn't so long. I think it's more of a pacing issue than anything.

Yep. UCLL was the better experience becausing of its tight pacing. Never wore out its welcome.

It must be the way you were playing because combat in 4 is by far the best in the series and the rope swinging made it more dynamic. In the wrong hands sure it can be boring but just watch a really good player and it's anything but. Puzzle sure nothing too engaging but all the games were like that so I didn't expect much better in 4. There were some pacing issues as the game was long but as a final entry in the Nathan Drake story arc it was as fitting as can be. As a fan of the series the ending was sublime. It had it's issues but boring is not how I would describe it. But of course it's all a matter of opinion. Unfortunately I play a few weeks of multiplayer and while fun I got sidetracked with my backlog.

Uncharted 4 is probably my favourite Uncharted game and my favourite game this gen although I have yet to start God of War.

Scotland had two chapters. They need to take out three of the first five chapters.

- Prison Break chapter went on for far too long.
- The young drakes chapter was boring and long.
- Work chapter was boring. Went on far too long.
- Home chapter was fun, but it came right after three slow chapters. Poor pacing.

Chapter 12 with those islands had no real gameplay. i think there was maybe one puzzle and no combat in an hour long chapter.
Chapter 13 was all climbing and walking and talking with just one combat encounter that they revealed at PSX.
Chapter 16 with young drake brothers was also way too long for a chapter where you do nothing really. no puzzles, no platforming, no combat. its a glorified hour long cutscene.

Final few chapters were great. But then again, i dont think anyone bought this game to see Drake work out his marriage issues.

You get it.

I've said it before, but UC4 is ND trying to turn Uncharted into TLOU. But, UC's story and characters have always been too shallow to support such a pacing and tone of game. The Last of Us is a boring ass game, but I love it. The boring, slow atmosphere adds to the game's tone. It fits the world they are trying to create. Just slowly walking through ruined street on your tippy toes while Joel and Ellie talk about life is compelling. I don't get any sense of satisfaction as I have to sit there and watch Nate and Sam quip back and forth as the traverse a boring Scottish landscape.

Indiana Jones is not The Road.

Any trailer without the non stop climbing is an improvement anyway ah ah. Game was good, but no way I m enduring this bullshit again. U2, U3 and Lost Legacy got much better pacing.

I mean honestly all this did is just highlight what a fucking great game Uncharted 4 already is. It's not really manipulative in terms of tone of content, this is basically what the game consists of other than a few breather moments here and there, which are much-needed.

Saw it a couple days ago and immediately wanted to play through it again. The download size stopped me though.

Even with the game's pacing issues, it's still one of the best games of this generation. I hope they learned their lesson for TLoU part 2 though, because TLoU once you get past a certain point is one of the best paced games of all time.

I bet the people who thought the game was boring probably played like it was Gears of War.

brazil, unfortunately
I remember how impressed i was when I first played this game. Amazing work from ND.
I really hope they keep up with this series 'cause IMO it not only has amazing graphics (since the first) but its gameplay is also top notch.

Amazing trailer, love the game. Video made me sad too, trying to imagine a movie adaptation that didn't suck.

This game is as awesome as your imagination, your ability to improvise and, frankly, your level of control in a third person shooter.

Uncharted 2 is exactly as awesome as it is, for everybody, the same way. It's an equal opportunity romp like no other. (Although I would posit that Modern Warfare 2 is an underappreciated romp as well)

UC4 is made with different sensibilities from 2 and 3, and feels more like an alternate reality where the sequel to UC gave players the agency create their own spectacle, rather than locking them onto a track for pre-prepared spectacle. Arguing which is "better" is just pointless.

The game was equally great. I felt the pacing was perfect. There's other aspects to a treasure hunter fantasy than to constantly out of nowhere be swarmed by baddies. It may not be as replayable as a action-packed game but as a one time experience it was a absolute joy to explore the beautiful locations, listen to the characters and solve mysteries. It also made the action sequences in there more enjoyable when they did show up.
